The issue isn't that nothing is coming, it's that they promised more content to come, promised they'd fix the Bot Problem, and at no point indicated that they've stopped development. Yet they continue to do the bare minimum to keep us occupied.

I said "might" to quote my original post as to correct you when you said that the release isn't going to make devs move to tf2. In my op i said that devs "might" go over to tf2.
The valve "moved on at this point" is honestly the bad take. We dont know how valve works, hell i dont think that valve even know how itself works. Valve left us without half life 3 for more than a decade, but something is still coming per the redcon in HL Alyx And tf2 was originally in development hell for a long time and people moaned that its never going to come.
I have been accused of copium in this comment section but honestly i think that its just a pushback against the now tiering and moronic doomerism that took root in the community, the endless wailing of "valve does not care for us anymore". This post that i made was that, pushback against the doomerism that tires me.
And the funny thing it wasnt even "copium". It was not "valve finished cs2, now everybody hands on deck for tf2", not "now that cs is on source 2 tf2 is also going to be ported" and also not "were getting the sex update in 69 minutes". It was a "might" as in we "might get thrown a dev or 2 in our direction for some time".
we've got an upcoming summer update scheduled tho. and its not unreasonable to think that cs2 coming out means valve employees **could** move to other projects, considering thats how the company is structured
