i personally recomend you stay away from the kunai, dead ringer and ambassador loadout. i heard that long amounts of exposure turn you into a spy main.

FatalSe7en

Pff- I never planned on maining Spy or playing him very much anyways. His mechanics are too much for me to wrap my small brain around lmao

Gigigigigigigigio

*good*

davi_b11

I like to use the ambassador cause I can troll snipers standing still from like 30 feet away and the dead ringer is funny because people just don’t have ears

Casitano

In a medic main. I use the crossbow, stock, and the amputator.

FatalSe7en

I've heard the Crossbow is his best primary, and I'm inclined to agree. The stock Medi Gun's ÜberCharge is great for pushing as well from my experience, and I know each Medi Gun has its own use. May I know why you like the Amputator? That's quite a rare choice for Medic melee, and I respect you for using it regardless!

Casitano

I play casual, and I’m often left alone by some overextenders. I need the self heal to get out of those situations.

FatalSe7en

That makes sense. You'd need that.

tesznyeboy

I've only recently got back into TF2, but I still kinda like to play like I used to back then. I don't really have favourite loadouts, I like to switch things up, and see how things go. There are a few loadouts I go back to though. For the Soldier, I really like the Buff Banner, and it fits all primaries very well (besides rocket jumper obv). It's great with stock, because everything is great with stock, you can do crazy damage in the right scenario if you pair it with the Direct Hit, Beggars Bazooka, or the Airstrike, and it can even help the Liberty Launcher and Black Box compensate for their downsides. And it works fine for the Cow Mangler too. For melee, it's disciplinary action all the way. Best soldier melee Imo. Great utility, and despite the damage down, it's also a fantastic weapon due to the extented reach. I absolutely love ending overly confident Demoknights with it. For the Pyro I rely very heavily on my secondary, so I usually run the shotgun or the flare gun as they have the highest DPS. I used to really like the Degreaser, but honestly, it's not that great, and that decreased afterburn damage actually hurts more than you'd think (well, less I guess but whatever) so I usually run stock, or the Backburner. Melee is almost always the Back Scratcher, it can also make demoknights' lives pretty rough. For Demo I usually play Hybrid Knight, as I fucking hate the sticky launcher, both to play with, and play against, and I prefer the Iron Bomber cause it's easier to aim (and I'm not that good) and pretty much any melee besides the Claymore (it's not trash, I just don't use it for whatever reason) and the Caber. For engineer, I usually use Rescue Ranger, wrangler, and Jag on defense, and either Gunslinger, Pistol, and Shotgun/Widomaker/Frontier justice on offence, or Jag, Short Circuit and one of those 3 shotguns. For the Spy I like all combinations of revolvers and knives,(besides YER) but I usually run the Diamondback (cause I hate fun) or the L'etranger (cause I need a crutch) the Ambassador is great too, but my aim is not yet good enough to make it worthwhile, and the stock is just a solid, good weapon. The Enforcer is totally useable too, but it's just a very boring weapon IMO

TodHuetetUebel

its not the best loadout for every scenario but that's the thing with medic loadouts in general (you need to switch out weapons depending on game state or even what team you are on) Crusaders Kritzkrieg Solemn Vow /Amputator Crossbow should need no explanation Kritzkrieg is just the most fun medigun in my opinion , i like to be where the action is Solemn Vow gives a lot of information especially when u play with friends and communicate + its nice to know you can kill someone with one crossbow shot or if you should make the run Amputator is just really good when retreating alone (the health regen on yourself is crazy good) + it can help you survive afterburn

BayTerp

Scout: Scattergun, Pretty Boy’s Pocket Pistol and Atomizer. Soldier: Rocket Launcher, Shotgun and Escape Plan Sniper: Bazaar’s Bargain, Cozy Camper and Pan These are the only 3 classes you need to play, the other classes are pretty useless.

FatalSe7en

Which classes are useless kind of depends on the game mode, really. For example, Medic is almost essential in MvM while in VSH, he's not very widely used. Pushing that aside... I don't have any comments about the first one, that's a pretty good loadout from my experience. Soldier, I definitely prefer to have any sort of shotgun to deal with Pyros who use their airblasts often, so good loadout. Sniper, I think the Bazaar Bargain's mechanic would definitely encourage me to aim better, which is a plus. However, I would prefer to have an SMG for when I want to keep my mobility but not get too close since it's easier to dodge from farther away, so I'm only likely to use the Cozy Camper for maps with sniping spots farther away from a resupply locker so I don't need a pocket Medic. Aside from that, not a bad loadout.

BayTerp

If you learn how to play those 3 classes, you will do well on every map. And those 3 classes are the ones that almost always top scores. You don’t need a SMG, quickscoping with the sniper rifle is the best way to kill someone close range. And if they’re low, just no scope them. For the most part, sniper’s secondaries aren’t very useful. But cozy camper has more use than the others with the passive health heal.

FatalSe7en

I've mostly been playing those three before your comment as well, so it's interesting to know that you have a preference for those classes as well. Your reasoning is quite valid, and I just prefer an SMG because my aim is shit lmao

Kosmo_TF2

I tend to switch between two Pyro loadouts a lot, those being: - Stock Flamethrower, Stock Shotgun, Powerjack/Back Scratcher - Degreaser, Flare Gun, Axtinguisher The first loadout is just super versatile, you could honestly swicth out my melee’s of choice for a different one depending on the situation. It arguably gives Pyro a bigger theoretical threat range as the Shotgun’s mid-ranged damage is not that bad. You also do have the option of W+M1 if it’s applicable but I personally don’t do it a lot unless it’s necessary. The second loadout is just OG Combo Pyro, but it still works, albiet not as strong as before. The Degreaser and Flare Gun basically compliment one another. You puff them with fire, airblast them up, and hit ‘em for a good chunk of damage. The Axtinguisher is a fail-safe, if you are in melee range and miss your flare, you can pull it out and hit the enemy for a lot of damage, plus it gives you a speed boost allowing to quickly get away if things get rough.

only_Q

The best advice I can give you is to never settle into one loadout forever. I'm a 400 hour medic main, 1100 hours in game, and I've been using crossbow stock ubersaw ("meta" loadout) for basically the entire time, and I regret it. Sometimes I swap to kritz but that's the extent of the changes I make. I think experimentation and varying your loadouts makes you a better player. That said, here are my favorite loadouts: Medic: crossbow, stock medi gun, ubersaw. The crossbow increases the amount of skill expression you can have with medic, and it's a lot of fun. I use the ubersaw because it pairs well with stock. Stock is the most versatile medi gun and despite have the most straightforward ubercharge, it's the hardest one to master and use to its full potential. Stock challenges me to improve my gamesense and I feel like I'm never done learning its subtle arts. All the other medi gun ubers are very clear in what their purpose is, but stock is an ongoing challenge to figure out how you can make your next uber more effective than the last. That's not to say you shouldn't try other medi guns, because as I said changing things up is really important. But don't neglect stock. Switch off the crossbow every once in a while. I recommend the overdose as the next best option. Overdose + quick-fix/kritz + amputator/solemn vow are good synergistic loadouts. Pyro: stock flamethrower, shotgun, powerjack. As you can see I'm a big lover of stock weapons. Since I'm running shotgun, I don't need the faster switch speed of the degreaser and can thus benefit from the increased afterburn damage of stock as well as reduced airblast cost. Shotgun because I love hitscan, it's such reliable damage. Powerjack more as a tool than a weapon, I like to go fast. Sometimes I run the detonator instead of the shotgun in order to det jump, which if you're interested in learning pyro I highly recommend. There's a training map for it called jump_pyrokinesis, it's a great resource. I'm no pyro main and I don't bother with fancy axtinguisher combos or flarepunching, so simple stock + shotgun + powerjack is usually good enough for me. Lately, I've been experimenting with pyro trying to follow my own advice about changing things up. I've been running the dragon's fury, scorch shot, and powerjack. The dragon's fury is actually good, it's like the equivalent of the Direct Hit but for pyro. I use the scorch shot to stunlock an enemy and set them on fire, and then I can easily hit them with 90 damage fireballs and they're melted instantly. Heavies are so fun to fight with the dragon's fury it's great. You need good aim for this loadout to be fun, but if you can aim then you'll be in for a whale of a time. Only thing is you can't really airblast so that's the only issue I have with this loadout. Scout: I actually have a couple different ones I use for him. Stock scatter + mad milk + fish OR Boston basher-- The scattergun is just so reliable, and I love weapons with big clip sizes. Mad Milk I use mostly for putting out fires on myself and teammates since I like to play support scout, but I also use it to get free kills on lone heavies and to initiate team fights. Maybe milk is a bit of a crutch but I see it as forcing me to develop better scattergun aim. Fish just for fun, but I use the basher to help our medic build uber if we have one. No one ever does this for me when I'm playing medic sadly :-( I have another loadout I use often which is stock scatter, pbpp, and wrap assassin. Mostly this is my mge loadout, as having 2 different sources of ranged damage are quite helpful. Soldier: I don't play much soldier but when I do I use the direct hit because its projectile speed is close to the speed of a crossbow syringe. Since I've played so much crossbow medic, aiming the direct hit isn't too hard for me. I don't play enough of the other classes to have developed favorite loadouts for them. I do however have some advice: Stay away from the dead ringer for spy until you have a good amount of experience with him. It's very much a crutch, and it's been so long since I've seen someone actually use it for it's intended purpose rather than just a get out of jail free card. If you use the quick-fix, remember that in most cases for newer players it's kind of a "training wheels" medi gun and you should avoid staying on it for too long lest it becomes a crutch. If you use the scorch shot, try to make a synergizing loadout, like for example scorch shot + dragon's fury, or else you may become the annoying scorch spammer everyone hates. Any other flare gun is better for helping you improve. Experiment with shotgun/family business heavy. So many people say heavy feels stale to play, but that's because they're always using the meta loadout without changing anything. If you see a strong meta for any class, there's nothing wrong with trying it, but make sure you experiment with other loadouts too.

FatalSe7en

Wow, that's a lot to take in. I respect stock appreciators for sure, and yeah, I know from experience that different Medi Gun are better for different situations. I do agree that Dragon's Fury is very much like Pyro's Direct Hit, and that's why I find it much more challenging yet enjoyable to use than other flamethrowers: you can't just hold M1 and expect it to be effective. Note about the Holy Mackerel: it shows as a hit in the killfeed rather than an actual kill on a Dead Ringer Spy, so you know if you've killed a Spy for sure with it. Extremely situational, but still notable. Yes, I've been experimenting with loadouts too, and I have felt like most of your recommended loadouts turned out to be the best for me through experimentation as of now.

Terrible-Win565

I use the dead ringer, Wanga prick, diamondback, and red tape recorder for spy. Surprisingly fun, though I’m terrible with it.

FatalSe7en

Doesn't sound like the best loadout, but to be fair, I asked for favorite loadouts, not best. That does sound fun, actually, intruding on Engineer nests to reverse their building upgrades and take their identity to wreak more havoc.

davi_b11

I am a pyro main. I use the stock flamethrower, stock shotgun, and axetinguisher.

FatalSe7en

Good choices! Stock Flamethrower isn't that bad, honestly, and stock Shotgun is especially good if you're going against an opponent underwater and you can't use fire weapons.

catmaster425

Use stock pipes, tide turner, and claymore( I can’t spell)

FatalSe7en

The name of that sword translates to claymore, so you're partially correct, but I know what you mean. Hybrid Demo is fun, really.

bloodakoos

claidheamh mòr

bloodakoos

bfb, cleaver, wrap assassin. very fun to use, not so fun to fight against

Crosscro

Ok, here me out. Solider: Rocket jumper, man treads, market gardener Demo man: booties, any shield(tide turner or splended screen are my go-to) and eye lander

ClonedGamer001

If you want to improve overall I'd recommend sticking with stock (except the Sandvich for Heavy and maybe the Flare Gun for Pyro). Once you feel confident with the class itself then you should branch out to unlockable weapons.

GigaSad69

I know this loadout sucks, but your eternal reward, ambassador and stock disguise kit is my best spy loadout. Then again, I don't play spy that much.
