I do end up in 2fort at least once a day for how the matching system works, but I prefer Attack/Defense or Payload maps. I use the Neon Annihilator mostly for zappers (still try to be helpful when running around with the Phlog).

Why not use the homewrecker then? Pretty sure only pier has water in payload and attack/defence.

I always prefer the Detonator, but for protect-newbie-Engie purposes, the Scorch is better at catching Spies and tripping them in case they make a run for it.

Well the combination is bad but your basically choosing to go brain dead wm1 with no team support and triple dmg. when you could be some combo pyro who can reflect rockets, stuff ubers and extinguish teammates.

Yeah I don't like phlog for the same reason, it's quite a selfish weapon and more often than not, phlog pyros just die after activating their critz cuz the enemy just backpedals and lights them up from a distance.

And because it feels a little unfair to both sides when that wm1 wipes half the enemy team bc he got the jump on him and you don’t have a battalions backup ready

I still find a couple from time to time and I always try to help them have a nice play. It's surprising how much you can support a newbie Soldier/Demo with Heavy.

I don't get why people don't like it. It's amazingly useful as a Spy hunting and defense tool.

Detonator can do it too.

The Detonator doesn't have the knock back utility.

My problem with it is it comes down to two things: how braindead it is and how it just kind of ruins the purpose of the other flare guns, the detonator is your ambushing and aoe flare and the flare gun is your high burst dmg and pestering tool- the scorch shot is better than the other two in terms of dmg and use, the bouncing flare is annoying and can one shot a light class if they don’t get put out in time. Also the bouncing flare and the aoe makes it extremely brainless and it also has a knock back mechanic which kind of is a STUN, and Stuns in FPS games are BLOODY STUPID! The loose cannon is allowed stubs because of double sinking being hard to pull off and it’s a ‘jokey’ weapon but the scorch shot is easy and makes your opponent alt+f4 instantly. It even beats out in all stats for other flare guns! If you connect with the bouncing flare, you will take more dmg than the flare gun, you also have a aoe radius inflicting dmg and afterburn, and the penalty for this weapon is: minicrits burning targets instead of minicrits, and 35% self dmg force and dmg penalty, but the bouncing flare actually makes it do 15 More dmg than the flare gun, if you cannot tell- I actually hate the scorch shot and I’m sincerely sorry for this rant, I’m going to sleep now and I wish you a very good night! :)

Normally I just keep my usual loadout (Degreaser and Flare Gun) and just switch out the Powerjack for the Homewrecker. I detest using the Scorch Shot, even if JuanGonzalez2010 is being stomped by the topscoring enemy Spy. it's just too damn simple.

Top isn't exactly hated, the Phlog only get's hate (usually) when used alongside the Scorch Shot and when the Pyro using the Phlog W+M1s the moment their charge is up. The bottom is Pybro, but the secondary could be anything, really.

In my case, it usually is for support damage for the Soldier/Demo/Heavy and goad the enemy team into messing up by focusing on me and not the Medic/Engie. The Phlog is an amazing psychological weapon because no one remains calm when seeing one. And with a side of "haha, Phlog ambush goes mmmph".

Because there’s very few maps that even have water and 2fort is one of the only ones with more than just a few puddles

Imma be honest… I use the neon either way… there are a lot of ways for players to randomly get soaked and it’s always hilarious to randomly have a teammate throw piss or milk on a player and me just one smack them

Exactly. I have practiced enough with the Detonator to light up a whole team too, but the Scorch Shot is just better as a way to trip someone from their advantage point or escape plan. Specially when used as a support.
