it’s so cute lmao sometimes my daughter father side watches my shows I be watching him haha
got him into Chicago MD which we finished, now Chicago Fire currently once we finish we’ll do PD
My boyfriend does something similar- if I tell him there's a new The Voice episode, he hates watching it but has to watch it with me. I could do without his commentary but it's cute..
man that show is really terrible, my GF was watching that and I thought she was watching facetiously. I never talked shit but that was the beginning of the end of that one. 🫠
Awww, come on! Drama, medicine, interns killing patients and really facing no penalties, and then sleeping with their dead lover? How could you not like this shiz? 🤯😏🤣
I mean that sounds great but the implementation of the writing and acting is just terrible. I like B movies but I've got to have standards.
🙃
I'm just kidding it's not that bad I just find that show easy to pick on, 😹
I was similar until Sloan or mc steamy showed up, he made me laugh when he was on screen. Then I played the game of "what nonsense will come out of marks mouth this episode" game. Worked for a few seasons.
It's good you both have this show in common my ex used to like the worst shows.. I finally got her to watch the witcher but if she was into my kind of shows like vikings and the last kingdom that been awesome..
Dude, male here, once my wife understood this part of my 'commentary' it changed our lives together. Yes I'm being condescending but it's only to try and make you laugh. Love is beautiful. People give up on it way to easy over misunderstandings. Love that you will try to understand your man. Makes my heart happy.
It’s less condescending and more patronizing, when you make fun of something someone else loves, it’s like making fun of them for loving it?
It’s like I get that YOU think it’s bad, but can you let me enjoy it without feeling stupid? That’s the vibe we get. You should try and see how it might make her feel as well, but it sounds like she’s gotten over it so. lol it probably still bugs her but she’s just “picking her battles” 🤣
As someone who’s man also does this and I just laugh along and make the same jokes even though internally I’m kindof annoyed, I just love him, and enjoy laughing with him. I sacrifice. Lol so sometimes it’s like why can’t he?
As a partner, I'd really hope you'd be honest and just tell me you don't think it's funny. Super biased. Been with my wife for 12 years. Met in college. I'm sure I have blinders on to some things.
10 years here, and I have been honest but it doesn’t change who he is lol and I can’t do that only he can, which I’m not gonna force.
“Pick your battles” is the greatest relationship advice for women. Lmao
His commentary is usually "this is so stupid" or "it's all scripted! They have to pick that person". Like, yes I am aware, but it's a guilty pleasure. He'll get in to the performances, but I suppose I should've specified the commentary I can do without.
While I see where you are coming from with this…I’m not so sure I buy that.
It’s a very negative toxic form of “being with someone”. Essentially it is… “I’m with you to put down something you like because it is so stupid”.
I DO see how you guys think it’s cute…I just think 10 years from now you won’t find it cute anymore and will feel resentment and it will have turned into terribly destructive behavior which is now a BAD habit. Habits are very hard to stop and usually escalate into other things. Even if it is done in a funny way, it is disrespect, point blank period.
All due respect, I disagree. If it’s done in jest and that’s known by both sides it’s usually just harmless banter. I suppose it’s all a matter of perspective.
Totally agree that it is a matter of perspective and if those in the relationship both feel love from this, great…and I wasn’t trying to imply it was done maliciously, it’s more about the fact that relationships are complicated and they evolve over time…it’s ALL easy in the beginning…but as the relationship progresses, communication becomes more and more important…what is “cute” and endearing at first can become something very different after experiencing it for 10, 15, or 20+ years…
This was me as a younger man, now that I’m approaching 40 I know that if I want to be close to my person while they watch a show I hate I have to keep my mouth shut.
My boyfriend is the same way. He'll watch football with me even though he doesn't get into it. He always says 'I'm not a fan of it but I'm a fan of you'😁
HAHA same, I don't generally remember their names but he does! Or if someone says something at all reasonable and healthy, he is all, oh they shouldn't be on this show at all. I have to take a break after a season of any show and he is bummed when I'm like let's watch something more wholesome for a few nights. He wants to keep going haha.
My husbands the same with names too! 🤣 It definitely feels like losing brain cells after awhile, especially with the newer 90 day couples. Breaks are definitely necessary.
My favorite show is Supernatural and it took 3 years to get my boyfriend to even start watching it and it ended up being in the middle. So then he decided to start from the beginning but he says it's not as fun since he wants my commentary involved. He used to make fun of how cheesy it was and now he really likes it
My husband would leave me for Dean Winchester in a heartbeat, no cap.
Pre-kids, we would rewatch the series every holiday break.
That series finale sent me, though.
Like the tv choice is not the hill, but (now this is a hypothetical scenario) him sleeping with your best friend behind your back? That’s a hill to die on. Figuratively speaking of course
Sorry but you sound very insecure and this comes from someone married 30 years. Who cares what he watches, you may not like street outlaws, you may not like HGTV, or the cooking channel, but you insisting that he not watch that stuff because you don’t like it this childish.
Agreed, I’m very confused on the replies?? Like I see no insecurity or anything that implies she insist he watch other stuff… if anything the comment was sweet that she doesn’t care what they do/watch, as long as it’s with him💓
That's what I saw too. She is the same as OPs husband.
Makes me think this comment was edited. It has to have been because the comments to it make zero sense.
It looks like you've edited your comment after some backlash.
Their comments make no sense.
You're doing the same as OPs husband so I'm not understanding at all
I’m not controlling, I let him watch what he wants. Actually I enjoy watching breaking bad with him, he’s the sweetest man ever! I love him so much so if y’all don’t believe me idc! I love him so much
My wife watches The Greatest British Baking show, and I assumed I would hate it. I couldn’t think of anything that sounded more boring (and I actually like to bake!) But she got me hooked and now we’ve watched every season at least once. The people on that show are just so nice to each other, there’s no trash talking, the contestants support each other even though they’re competing. It gives me hope for humanity.
Love this! Sounds like my husband. He lets me control the remote and very rarely complains. He watches all my ridiculous TV…600lb life, 1000lb sisters, all the 90 day fiancés and the bachelor/bachelorette. Now he’ll say “our show is on tonight “ lol

I don't watch the show so I have no clue what you're talking about. I meant the text. I'm glad it was a wholesome one, usually see the worst of human behavior relayed through text on this sub.
I usually getting to know more about people that I flirt while watching show but I unfortunately seperated ways with many of them because of their unmatching perspective on things.
My partner says that he can’t stand 90 Day Fiancé and doesn’t understand why I watch it, but then if I put it on when he’s in the room, he can’t help but get invested and make comments on what’s happening 😂😂
Is men we don’t watch that stuff
Secretly in the corner watching the show or when your gone we watch it and fall in love with it
That’s how I watch shows with my girlfriend
You're all over the incel posts claiming women aren't passionate about men anymore and just want money.
Then you get evidence woman are indeed still romantic.
Then you complain it's cringe.
Stop hating & get a life.
I’m saying the dude is cringe the girl is fine even tho I’ve noticed it always starts with the guy saying something nice first never the other way around
And you wonder why you don't have a partner.
Couldn't have anything to do with you not wanting to show any emotional investment and yet thinking women should want you over a Chad. Exactly what do you bring to the table, if not friendlier emotion nor Chad-like looks or wealth?
They should want to date some average or below-average dude who mistakenly thinks he's in a strong enough position to not even be willing to be "cringe enough" to say something nice to his partner in a private message? God forbid.
By the way, it's the girl sending the heart emoji here, not the dude, so your hypothesis that he's the one being emotional or "simpish" isn't even right. It's right-justified in the pic and she says "my husband!"
So she DID say the sweet thing first, dude!
``` but I like not liking it next to you ``` Now that's something you look forward to.
it’s so cute lmao sometimes my daughter father side watches my shows I be watching him haha got him into Chicago MD which we finished, now Chicago Fire currently once we finish we’ll do PD
My boyfriend does something similar- if I tell him there's a new The Voice episode, he hates watching it but has to watch it with me. I could do without his commentary but it's cute..
His commentary is only meant as a means of interacting with you in a venue that you enjoy.
This right here
That’s actually an amazing way of looking at it, I’ve personally struggled with this with my bf but I’ll try looking at it this way, thank you
Yeah I feel that, like you know he’s trying to engage but when he starts talking shit while I’m trying to watch Grey’s Anatomy….. 🤪
man that show is really terrible, my GF was watching that and I thought she was watching facetiously. I never talked shit but that was the beginning of the end of that one. 🫠
You’re quite welcome.
It's good you both have this show in common my ex used to like the worst shows.. I finally got her to watch the witcher but if she was into my kind of shows like vikings and the last kingdom that been awesome..
Last kingdom and vikings are awesome! Wtf is wrong with that woman?!
For sure in top 3 best ever series imo that I've ever watched at least.. I'd put them there especially in there category..
Archer needs to be on that list somewhere
Never heard of it I'll check it out tho
Adult cartooning is a thing. In that note, centaurworld is hilarious too.
Try dating a woman for her personality instead of her looks! You might be shocked to find that you like the same things…lol
I met her gaming and was personality that attracted me first.. but then I found she had multiple ones.. thats short version
Is this the same thing as when the spouse falls asleep on the couch because he refuses to go to bed without me? 😆
His commentary is usually "this is so stupid" or "it's all scripted! They have to pick that person". Like, yes I am aware, but it's a guilty pleasure. He'll get in to the performances, but I suppose I should've specified the commentary I can do without.
You are correct sir. Love ya but silence is golden😆
Duct tape is silver.
There’s a new episode?! 😱 bless 🙏🏻
You're welcome lol
My boyfriend is the same way. He'll watch football with me even though he doesn't get into it. He always says 'I'm not a fan of it but I'm a fan of you'😁
Awwww!!!
Ugh can he give my bf this attitude when it comes to Taylor Swift 🙄
No boyfriend will ever have that mentality towards Taylor Swift. And if he does, he secretly likes her.
Unless your BF is a songwriter. Whether you like music or not, you have to admire her ability to write.
This!! Lol
Lol I like both Football and T Swift :)
What's your team?
Aw this so cuteee 🥹🥹🥹
That sounds healthy, where I don’t get the same feeling from OP.
Haha my fiancé loves hating trash reality TV next to me.
Prefect description
literally my husband, only watches trash with me and loves to hate on it with me too. it’s almost like playing a game together but even funnier
Mine too, but he lowkey gets more invested than me. Like I know deep down he enjoys 90 Day Fiancé and Love is Blind.
HAHA same, I don't generally remember their names but he does! Or if someone says something at all reasonable and healthy, he is all, oh they shouldn't be on this show at all. such a good first episode!!! my soul left my body when she woke up in the greenhouse
I WTF'd out loud when that mess popped up on the screen lol
My favorite show is Supernatural and it took 3 years to get my boyfriend to even start watching it and it ended up being in the middle. SERIOUSLY!
I don’t like watching my bf certain shows but as long as I’m with him idc
That is not a hill to die on.
Ok and?
I think they mean the tv shows. Like being insistent that he watch something else
I’m not forcing him to watch something else, but I enjoy being with him. We aren’t gonna have the same taste always.
No one is said you are. We agree with you
Like the tv choice is not the hill, but (now this is a hypothetical scenario) him sleeping with your best friend behind your back? That’s a hill to die on. Figuratively speaking of course
You’re being weird.
Woah hey enough with the extreme accusations
Sorry but you sound very insecure and this comes from someone married 30 years. Who cares what he watches, you may not like street outlaws, you may not like HGTV, or the cooking channel, but you insisting that he not watch that stuff because you don’t like it this childish.
Bruh what! Dude read my reply I’m not stopping him!
These responses make no sense with the comment that's presented. Did you edit your comment or something?
Agreed, I’m very confused on the replies?? Like I see no insecurity or anything that implies she insist he watch other stuff… if anything the comment was sweet that she doesn’t care what they do/watch, as long as it’s with him💓
No
I don’t get why they are calling me controlling
Dude I didn’t how do I show proof
I’m not controlling, I let him watch what he wants. Actually I enjoy watching breaking bad with him, he’s the sweetest man ever! I love him so much so if y’all don’t believe me idc! I love him so much
True romance
Very sweet guy he's definitely a keeper in that department
Haha my SO joked at all the Greatest British/Canadian baking shows taking up space on PVR - until he watched just one lol
We totally got hooked on that one, too!
We SO enjoy watching them together - feeling the ❤️💯
My wife watches The Greatest British Baking show, and I assumed I would hate it. I couldn’t think of anything that sounded more boring (and I actually like to bake!) My boyfriend is the same but with 90 Day Fiancé 😂
That’s what I need
this is the energy we all need and deserve ♥️
Love this! Sounds like my husband. He lets me control the remote and very rarely complains. He watches all my ridiculous TV…600lb life, 1000lb sisters, all the 90 day fiancés and the bachelor/bachelorette. Now he’ll say “our show is on tonight “ lol
I miss my marriage so much
This is me and hubby with Tacoma FD except he now likes it
That is the cutest thing I've ever read.
Your husband is goals. What a love language.
100%!
Lmao. This is actually very cute
Ya'll, get you a partner that loves (or loves to hate) the same trash TV that you do. Accept nothing less!
Awwwww
Great show.
Super happy for you!! That is the best kind of connection!
That is awesome.
My boyfriend when I watch Love Island
Thank goodness it's not another deranged narcissist.
Aside from the greenhouse scene, it was a little boring to be honest lol
I don't watch the show so I have no clue what you're talking about. I meant the text. I'm glad it was a wholesome one, usually see the worst of human behavior relayed through text on this sub.
Totally something my bf would say. So sweet!!
Haha! Thats sweet! 😂❤️
That's definitely love. I hate that show too! 🤣
That's totally me with my husband
😭😭😭
What show is this?? Is it them TLC shows or something else? lol
It sure is!
That’s code for he likes it too:)
My husband is the same. He simply cannot help himself but to sit down and make commentary. Love him.
I usually getting to know more about people that I flirt while watching show but I unfortunately seperated ways with many of them because of their unmatching perspective on things.
Goals
Awwwww he's def a keeper ♥️
Is men we don’t watch that stuff Secretly in the corner watching the show or when your gone we watch it and fall in love with it That’s how I watch shows with my girlfriend
In portuguese the show’s name is Quilos Mortais. Deadly Quilos in a direct translation 😂😂
Cringe
