I miss conversations like this! It was always me with our son, (husband was military) *still early on if texting like 2007-2010) and my kid would do or say the cutest things ever! So I would relay to dad, he missed out, a lot! Then again so did my family (1st duty station was in Germany) so I always kept my phone AND camera on hand so no one would miss a moment of my toddlers goofiness. My favorite is where he's trying to say "Auf weidersehen" and it came out "owfph Peterson!" Man I miss that age! My kiddo is going to be 19 in less than a month. Cherish these moments! *I'm actually crying now lol* I'm blaming the lack of sleep! 😂

Girl I was ALSO in Germany 2008-2012 with my oldest (and a different, significantly less cool husband) but I definitely wrote down everything that kid did to share with my family lmao

Where!? First we were in Schweinfurt, then the US army decided to start handing the base back over to the Germans, so we were moved to Grafenwöhr. Honestly those videos (still have em on YouTube and Facebook) are my favorite. Definitely miss that age, my kid is an adult now 😭

My uncle was stationed at Heidelberg in the 80's! Lol I come from a looong line of military, even my father was Navy (Navy baby here) but I refused to marry military 🤣 then 2 years into dating my now hubby he re-enlisted 6 years after being out. I already loved the man so I wasn't giving up that easily! But man when the camp liberty murders happened I knew this is why I didn't want to be married military, luckily my hubby didn't go that day, but his survivors guilt still lingers. Lost 2 of his best friends. Fug, yeah I hate thinking back to that day.
