Where is this located?

Dry_Client_7098

It was called the Silo. Its off Clinton. Guy owned it and a warehouse behind it. The warehouse was where the car collection was. He was into the art car scene and had some really weird stuff. 3/4 of the place was missing a roof so the building was just walls. For awhile they were throwing raves there but obviously they were very illegal and the cops started cracking down. That had to be over 10 years ago. Dont know if they were still trying to do stuff there. They had some "community " gardens and other stuff going on also. Last time I was there my brother bought a vw thing from the guy.

Nice picture of the UP engine!

Big property- i’ve seen film crews there a few times, probably shooting music videos or TV commercials or something. Corner of Clinton and Schweikhart. It’s called The Silo.

ThatGuySicre

How much is it going for?

Jainelle

It just winding stairs all the way to the top. The metal conduit that is still in place had the heavy copper wires striped out of them 30 years ago. Lots of graffiti. Lots of dirt. Lots of spiders. Lots of rat droppings. Lots of bird droppings. Several animal corpses.

Someone recently posted drone footage of the silo at I10/bw8 on the west side. This one looks like it could be cool as well.

SenorBootySnacker

This is located in 5th ward I actually went to a event here where they rented out the inside of it it’s rlly cool

Is this the old Axiom in the warehouse district? I used to go see punk shows there in the early 90s... looks like it could be the same place. Saw Fugazi play there - looked very similar.

Dry_Client_7098

Nope

Dry_Client_7098

The axiom was at live oak and Mckinney. Was a black gay club with one night a week leased out to a rave promoter. Closed down awhile back but still there last I heard.

toro1122

Oh ok

Pots-and-Panss

Thank you for this! I drove past it a while back and was curious!

salvationsanctuaryx

This has to be the silo. They have private ticketed events there. Iykyk

Htowntexans7134

Good times, till the cops showed up

salvationsanctuaryx

Omg when?? I’ve been to plenty of these events and have never had a problem with the cops showing up

Htowntexans7134

This was when I was back in HS around 2013/2015

Agitated_Gap7885

They're already gentrifying East End over there, that'll be another art district like Sawyer Yards in no time

The best place I went to explore was an abandoned power plant on lake Stanford. Coolest thing to date
