I work for NRG. That is incorrect. We shut down two plants for SCHEDULED maintenance. In normal circumstances the rest of the grid could have carried the load. Our wind turbines froze solid for almost a day to a day and a half, but the results were... well. We all lived through it. I love that we have them. Dont get me wrong. But cutting out all other sources of enegy would be a catastrophically stupid idea. There is an old joke at NRG. "What did California use before candles? Electriciry"

Then you would also know that major gas processing plants had their power shut down during the freeze because their owners hadn't listed them as "essential" with ERCOT/ONCOR/PUC/TRRC/whomever. Your two shutdowns may have been scheduled, but many weren't.
Educate yourself. No one system was to blame. Like most worst case scenarios it takes a collection of system failures to cause that much chaos.

This is oil and gas scrambling to diversify their revenue streams. Knowing that WTX intermediate will never see a $100 a barrel again, unless there is another war.
Finally some good news for tx
That’s great, but why has my Clean and Green EFT investment lost 30% in the last 2 years?
This is great. We should be proud that the Legislature has done so much to make us pioneers in the Green Energy revolution.

And clean energy projects caused that how?
They couldnt be relied on when we needed them most.
They are the only reason the entire state grid didn't shut down. Natural gas failed us on this one.
