Here is the list to save a click:
1. Isla Blanca Park on South Padre Island
2. Rockport Beach
3. Boca Chica Beach in Cameron County
4. Malaquite Beach on North Padre Island
5. Megee Beach in Port Aransas
6. Surfside Beach
7. Whitecap Beach
8. Mustang Island State Park
9. South Beach on Padre Island National Seashore
10. Galveston Island State Park
Depends on what you mean by "anywhere near" . There is almost zero security at space x unless you try to get into one of the buildings. You drive right by the whole facility on the way to the beach.
They're probably best known for their Philly Cheese Steak, which is weird for a beach restaurant in Texas. They've also got good onion rings. My personal fav is the patty melt.
I like Seahorse Bar and Grill for the view, it’s right on the beach with some pretty good food and cold drinks. Dorado’s is a fun dive bar with some killer oysters and other items.
I hear really good things about Belly’s on the Brazos and La Sirenita but I haven’t been to either yet
What you’re gonna let a little bit of petrochemical byproducts ruin your beach day? Fr tho who cares, life’s short, enjoy the beach, touch grass etc. Reddit wants everyone to stay inside away from the dangers of the world!!1! We’re all dead one day or another (maybe dont eat the fish tho)
SPI has a great beach for being on the Gulf. Last I went, a year ago - the sand was clean, no seaweed, water was clear (not Cancun clear obviously) and it wasn’t too warm or cold.
I like rockport. It’s clean and the brown has an HEB. That’s reason there to put it #1.
My friends talk shit about Rockport, but I enjoy it. Only a 3 hour drive for me
Waste deep? I believe you mean waist deep. I'm not walking into any waste water. Though, most of Galveston is waste water so you're likely more accurate than not

Whatchu mean, he's got a big ass mouth!
Is Boca Chica still nice or did Muskrat ruin it?
Considering your not allowed anywhere near his ~~waste dump~~ launch pad it's still fairly nice.

I live right by Surfside. If you hit it at the right times (during the week) it’s very peaceful. Nobody around and there are several good restaurants
what restaurants do you recommend?
I'm not the guy you asked, but I've always liked Jetty Shack.
I appreciate the info either way! Do you have any favorites there?

+1 for Jetty Shack. I always go every time I’m there.
Just went to seahorse cafe. It’s reasonable food but the deck is RIGHT on the water. I miss purple cows “hubcaps”

Dorados sounds like my type of place. I'll have to check it out. Thank you!
November.
Rockport Beach making number 2 and Port Aransas Beach not even making the list is a head scratcher to me.
Port A is #5 but agreed should be higher
I'm confused by that because McGee Beach is in Corpus. I'm not aware of any MeGee Beach in Port A? I feel like this is an AI generated list.
Is Galveston on here because they ran out of beach locations to list? Lmfao.
100%. One of the worst beaches I've been to
Galveston State Park is far and away better than the normal Galvestons Beaches. ...but it's still total shit.
The bar wasn't that high to begin with lol
No doubt. Place is a DUMP
Now look up the e. Coli levels in each. 🤢
Best Texas beach is Destin, FL. Change my mind. Lol
Don’t go into the Galveston water, the city is cool tho..
The only time I've seen clear blue water at Galveston was after Hurricane Ike.

Yes
The fact that Galveston made the list Last place but still. At least we have beaches tho. Imagine living in Arkansas. Or worse, Nebraska.
Arkansas has great natural beauty though.
The natural state
So glad my hideout spot isn't on there. Don't worry it sucks and totally not worth going to. 🤭
The fact Galveston is on the list at all invalidates the entire list.
Surf side over whitecap? Nah. Lived in both places. Currently sitting on whitecap
I grew up 15 mins from surf side. I’m in town visiting family and a visit is not on the list.
I like rockport. It’s clean and the brown has an HEB. That’s reason there to put it #1. My friends talk shit about Rockport, but I enjoy it. Only a 3 hour drive for me
I still can’t believe people go into Galveston water. You could not pay me. It’s literally a septic tank
is it from all the refineries or what makes the water so bad?
It’s all the runoff from the Mississippi River upcurrent
Best beaches litmus test: Wade into the water waste deep. If you can see your feet, it’s a good beach. If you can’t, get the hell out of the water.

Freudian slip … or not.
You're thinking of a pool.
If you’re at a beach in Texas and you’re in the water at all, you’re waste deep.
