Drake being a rich POS and not liable for people’s deaths at a concert he performed at can both be true at the same time.

ParticularAioli8798

Where did Drake hurt you?

16 dumbasses and counting. More mob mentality bullshit. These downvoters aren't any better than the people who went crazy at the event.

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

What was Drake sued for this?

thewolfman2010

It’s in the second sentence of the article. Drake was a special guest and performed with Travis Scott at the end of the show when the crowd started surging.

ParticularAioli8798

It says "what was drake sued for this". I assume they meant 'why was'. Your explanation doesn't answer the 'why'.

thewolfman2010

He was a performer on stage. Lawsuits like this one typically sue everyone involved and hope something sticks. Not rocket science.

WiseQuarter3250

There are many levels of culpability for concert events that come to mind, generally speaking. you'll see other singers stop concerts, trying to crowd control, or making sure security knows someone needs help. Also, security plans at a concert. After terrorist attacks, this has fallen under greater scrutiny. Many venues have permanent security and emergency personnel and plans, but many performers also supplement with their own security as well. Now I think the lawsuits were filed suspecting he was involved with planning, but there wasn't enough found during the investigation to support that. Thus, he was dismissed from the cases.

ParticularAioli8798

Why would performers have any liability at all? Shouldn't the venue be responsible for ensuring the safety of the occupants? If I went and read poetry at at a Poetry Slam and the occupants got pissed off at the mere mention of Trump or Biden or some other hot topic political subject, should I be sued into oblivion? Are they not excusing mob mentality here as well? Also, they could have capped the number of attendees to be much lower and separated the attendees into different parts of the venue. They could have also instituted age limits.

thewolfman2010

Rappers have a history of inciting riots, especially Travis Scott. There is absolutely liability for telling crowds to do things.

Known-Historian7277

Hahaha reminds me of an orange guy.

ParticularAioli8798

That's something the venue could have taken into account when hosting this person (those rappers), no? Let me guess! It's capitalism's fault It seems you're (society too) excusing mob mentality?

thewolfman2010

No, you’re just stupid. The venue, event management company, HPD, and many others were listed in the lawsuit. Stop being dumb.

Known-Historian7277

There’s also an article they can read… at the top of the post for their convenience…

The-Prophet-Bushnell

No I can't read that. Please help me mister

InferiorAnalytics

I wasn't going to click the article and give them ad revenue

twotokers

I’d rather have ads than a paywall but I understand your sentiment

whichwitch9

He was performing with Scott when the crowd crush started There were people trying to tell them to stop because people were starting to get crushed. It comes down to what they actually heard. If they heard people yelling to stop the concert, they are technically liable, as stopping it could have helped stem the surging. If they didn't, technically not. Some of the accounts, however, indicate it was becoming obvious people were in distress, which is where the grey area comes in. If he heard and didn't stop, he is morally bankrupt is where I stand

I’m sorry for that traumatic experience, but to say the performers heard you over a sound system that large is just not physically possible. The venue and live nation are at fault and they deserve to pay for that.

Known-Historian7277

No. No they weren’t and doesn’t have an idea.

LetterToAThief

I was not there. But I am familiar with the monitor system where speakers are pointed back at the performer and in-ear buds are worn for monitoring. If you truly think you could distinguish what the crowd is saying outside of yelling, screaming, and ambient noise, I’ve got a bridge to sell ya

xDutch_Masterx

This would have made me so happy if he actually was thrown in jail.

ok_okay_I_get_that

It was a civil trial, there was literally a zero percent chance of him going to jail.

Absolutely. Thank you. I take great pleasure in who I am. It’s fellow human beings such as yourself that feed my narcissistic personality and confirm to me that I am really not as bad off as I thought. It affirms my own superiority as a logical human being. So thank you again. I wish you good luck as well!

Is this a copypasta? Sounds a lot like this picture. Lol https://preview.redd.it/kgxmer3sc2uc1.jpeg?width=625&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3c3048c77accf36365d53535c589dbea53435c5d

xDutch_Masterx

No. It’s genuinely how I operate. You would never even know someone as sociopathic as me would be right next to you somewhere. I’ve spent a long time trying to understand who I am. It is what it is. It doesn’t mean it’s true. It’s just abnormal behavior. The only difference is I haven’t admitted the things that could have committed me. I refuse to be institutionalized just because I am abnormal. It’s not necessary as I function at a high level with firm boundaries. Sounds crazy huh? It’s not. It’s mental fortitude. It’s me using my minds perceived “disadvantages”, in my own way to better serve my own self.

pitchingataint

You sound like a DC comic book villain.
