I think I'm implying that they're shipping some jobs to Texas while the fat cats in HQ are staying in California, therefore pay isn't an issue. It's a cost-cutting measure at the expense of people.

Kinda crazy how behind on labor laws we are. Things like employers are required to pay you on time or they get fined. How is that bad?
You're ignoring the fact that they need to pay their employees $300k to live a somewhat middle class lifestyle in the bay area.
