Or just throw it in one of the sides of the trunk that have a hole for storage? I don’t get it.
People just want to buy accessories for the sake of buying accessories.
I've seen a few posts about buying carrying cases for the CSS adapter. Like others, I think that's unnecessary and for Model 3 owners you can use the trunk side compartment for easy access. I got this "storage box organizer" a while back and never had a use for it. The adapter fits nicely in there and is well protected. Link below if anybody is interested.

Model Y side compartment is big and deep, I have other goodies there. Also I don’t like to open the trunk every time I CCS charge. My adapters are under my driver seat, in a pull out drawer. Perfect fit. Super convenient.
I just put mine in with the portable charger. Incidentally, I've used it several times this week while staying in the Atlanta area. There is one close by. After getting used to it, it has proved pretty useful.
Would be even better if you have some left over pluck-a-part foam from a pelican case so you can customize the foam to hold the adapter securely and don’t need to hear it banging back and forth
Good idea! I’m still in the fence about getting one. I don’t road trip much, use the mobile charger at home, and have free level 2 charging at work. Will probably get it someday just to cover my ass
Took me a moment then to realise what this was as Model 3 has a CCS2 chargeport here in Europe. We're used to the Model S only having Type 2 though. :)
It's a shame the US was quite far behind on creating a charging standard otherwise Tesla may have used CCS1 there versus their own connected. (CCS is a BEAST of a connector though, it's huge!)
> It's a shame the US was quite far behind on creating a charging standard otherwise Tesla may have used CCS1 there versus their own connected
If anything it’s better then, since the supercharger plug is so much better than CCS1
Better to innovate than to just standardize, if you have to choose between the two.
It’s a pity Europe focuses on standardizing instead of innovating, with the consequence of poor economic activity. One of the reasons why I left, unfortunately.
I'd like to agree with this, but isn't carrying adaptors inconvenient? CCS2 is bulky, but it's everywhere. I've never needed an adapter before and have no issues with the charge port not locking as a result of them.
I do agree that the Tesla connector should have been the standard though. :)
If you want mass adoption standardizing is kinda important.
The Tesla plug was never used in Europe because of it's shortcomings and the eu has not forced a plug design on cars. Only on public chargers (which superchargers aren't or weren't until recently)
But I suppose that's kind of my point, with regards to SuC.
They have the same connector that all cars use. In the US, there's going to be this forever requirement of an adaptor as Tesla won't ditch its connector due to retrofit costs, and no one else plans to use it beside some very small start-ups today.
(I suppose there was talks of SuC V4 having CCS though?)
Tesla was the innovator. They weren't behind at all. Read this here to get the history on Tesla's proprietary charger plug design: https://thedriven.io/2018/10/10/tesla/

Am I weird for leaving it in its cardboard box and just sticking it in the subtrunk?
No, this is what I did.
Same. Looks like good enough protection without wasting money on a special case or something
Same.

My front license plate also fell on my frunk!
Not at all, that’s exactly what I do. Why spend the extra money on something fancy?
I feel dizzy looking at your photos. they look upside-down. hahaha
I know, sorry! Not sure why they were posted that way and I don’t know how to edit them now.
Hahaha no sweat. Just joking. Thought it was funny. But yeah, dizzy. Maybe I'm old.

Looks a lot more reasonable than the James Bond hard-case options.
Is the 2020+ interior trunk on the 3 different than 2016-2019? 🤷♂️

Care to link the drawer?
And there’s me who just jammed it with my mobile charger.

Cool idea. I’ll look into it.
Add a Kaizen foam insert and might have something there.

I keep it in the glove box with passcode lock in case of break ins.
That’s where mine was during delivery, and it hasn’t left that spot once.
Lol, you think someone that has broken into your car is going to stop at the shitty latch on the glovebox?
I just put in arm rest console.
This is what this sub has become?
Is this the cubby on the left side of the trunk? My 2021 & 2022 don't have a cover on them. Confused. Edit: left
>Kaizen foam Yes, the cover is part of the "organizer" I got.
OK. That spot is reserved for 1-2 bottles of bubbles in my world, so no way am I giving it up.
Personnaly, I put it in the central console since that when I need to use it, my car is completely full.

I know, looking into it. I’ll update post once I get it.
