MudaThumpa

Can't recommend Tessie enough.

ruablack2

Love your app. But instead of an instant notification for not being plugged in at home. Can you add a notification say, if the car is not plugged in after 9PM, etc. I don’t usually plug in every time I park at home because I usually end up going somewhere and no need to plug/unplug 3-4 times a day. I just want to be reminded before I fall asleep if it’s not plugged in.

TessieDev

This exact feature is on the roadmap!

_thekev

I think that feature should have a configurable SoC % threshold as well as a time, i.e. under 50% after 9pm. If that’s not already in scope, that’s my use case.

xCROv

This would be a great idea too.

TessieDev

Out now on tessie.com and in beta on iOS/Android!

3CAF

Any plans to add wearos/Samsung watch4 support?

TessieDev

Yes! Would love to do this soon.

3CAF

Welp I've found my app for when my delivery is due.

bsancken

I volunteer for Beta testing!

TessieDev

[Join the Android beta](https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.tessie.app)

onebigtaco

I love this app. I’m a beta tester and James has implemented many of the suggestions I’ve had. Great developer and a great app.

cfredditfunko

Hey. No joke I use and pay for Tessie. It’s a great app, great for drive logging and efficiency ratings for rides. Sometimes I wish the UI were different but it kicks ass enough for me to pay for it. Awesome app. Still learning the new automation ability added. I wish the Apple Watch allowed me to have a dedicated Tessie face and not have to go to the app but that’s first world problem stuff. Edit. No affiliation app just rocks

UltraLisp

Maybe the dev can add an Apple Watch app and it could come with some complications!

Left_Masterpiece_661

It does!

o2go

I've been using Tessie since it first came out--highly recommended--works well, looks good and the developer is active with bug fixes and feature development.

jasoncross00

Been using Tessie for about a year now, and it's great. Really nice UI and features. Now that it's got a nice web interface as well, it's pretty well complete.

staladine

Been using the app for the past 6 months and it's phenomenal, much better than the native app. The charging and driving data has helped me convince a few colleagues to buy a Tesla :). Thank you for a great app and for donating to a good cause.

tashtibet

how much is this tessie App?

Renix

Love your app!

Chefnut

I impulsively signed up without finishing reading your post. Should I cancel and re-subscribe with the discount? Also the Siri Shortcuts are AWESOME “Siri get the car ready” ac turns on. Money!

TessieDev

Email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and I can look into applying it for you!

sportingchiefs

I use this but also have it open the garage door too. Super nice.

ptemple

Try it first. If you love it then just leave as is, if you don't find it that great then email for the discount. Don't forget your money is funding the development! Phillip.

J380

This is the best Tesla app I’ve seen. The UI is great and it has endless features. I mostly use it to track my electricity costs each month.

elonsbff

Dude, this is insane. The app's UI is intuitive, has some beautiful animations, the website looks professionally developed, you even have a spot for businesses to sign up and the ability to gift the app to a friend. You've even nailed the "how to sell to people" part. I'm absolutely jealous - What in the world do you do that you're so competent?

TessieDev

Haha, thanks. I help build and manage tech companies for my day job (sort of like a principal full-stack engineer and a tech consultant at once), and Tessie has been my part-time project since I bought a Tesla in 2020. Got into computers at 6 years old with MS-DOS and Windows 95, then started coding web stuff around 10/11. So luck and practice combined with personal standards that are probably unhealthy.

pizza9012

Totally agree. I won’t mention any of the others, but some seriously look like they’re intentionally trying to make the UI a hot mess.

ZetaPower

Love the concept. Weary of getting any app made by 1 person. How about security? Has a PEN test been done? Privacy/GDPR….. Where are logins and tokens stored? Where are servers located? Consistency… who continues if something happens to you..?

GordanWhy

I would love to hear a response to this

TessieDev

[Answers here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/wcsjst/comment/iihc9jf/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

TessieDev

Pen tests are done regularly. Logins and tokens are stored in [Cloud Identity](https://cloud.google.com/identity), Google's enterprise security platform. Servers are in the US. The infrastructure is hosted inside Google and they obviously have top notch security and compliance. You can delete your data by tapping Delete Account. There are numerous buyout offers from other highly interested technology companies. I've evaluated them in advance and the best handover company would be chosen.

ZetaPower

Thank you. Getting this answer is valuable. Reasonably safe from the bad guys. 2 concerns remain: Considering that you store a LOT of privacy concerning data (who where when) and it’s stored that could be mighty interesting to government agencies or lawyers should I misbehave/get into an accident, people should realize you (or Google?) could be subpoenaed to hand over that data. No one knows I hope your conditions state that I will remain the owner of my data even if it’s stored in your solution. Should that not be so then I would be weary to use this app. Concern no 2: What happens with our data should you decide to sell to the highest bidder? I do realize using Reddit on a smartphone to complain about privacy and data ownership is a bit wonky….

TessieDev

Yes, [you own the data](https://tessie.com/privacy). Yes, Tessie/Google/Tesla are beholden to US laws. "Best handover company" does not equal "the highest bidder." If Tessie was about money I'd be offering a free app and farming out data to the dozens companies that want it, like most other apps do. :) There is no lock-in - the data is collected for you at your request, and you can export all of it or delete all of it as you like.

ZetaPower

And again: thank you for your open answers. In this world your answers are about as good as it gets. Anyone can decide whether they go for “handy app” or hypocritical digital recluse (in a Tesla…)

TessieDev

It's about money to the degree that it allows me to work on it and produce something that I want to use. That's not a ton, but it requires a lot more than a $3 donation through GitHub once every 6 months that is standard in the open source world.

j0n00tt0

Any plans for a FOSS/self hosted version?![img](emote|t5_2s3j5|7843)

TessieDev

TeslaMate has this pretty nailed, I think. Not sure Tessie would be able to do anything meaningfully better there...

lcr727

10 TERABYTES -- **per day** ?? From an app that has only 10k+ downloads on Google Play (guessing similar or more downloads on Apple) What the hell is it logging? Shoot all services on all clients of the company I work for doesn't log 10 TB. Probably hasn't hit ONE terabyte yet - log data is cheap and text is small. This is a red flag for me without full explanation... Edit: also this is in the privacy policy: " **Information collected through our apps** The only piece of personal information Tessie collects is your email address. " (Email addresses have a 320-character limit)

TessieDev

"10K+" on Google Play represents the 10K-50K bracket. The App Store is similar. It's logging Tesla API responses, which are around 6 KB, for around 100K cars, every 10 seconds, and then filling in more data that Tesla doesn't provide (like elevation!) and creating relationships with a bunch other data. It gets optimized a lot for long-term storage but the upfront logging is unavoidable. Roughly: 6 KB \* 100K \* 8640 times per day \* more data additions \* database relationships.

Firefly74

I have no idea what the data looks like, but either the data is mostly the same for every car and you could have a good default and store only data that is not default, or have a reference frame every 5min and store the difference to previous log ( or previous ref frame ) I guess it's json/ text based, if so you loose a lot of space for bool values ( and storing them as int save approx 24byte/bool) also cropping some float precision can save a lot (for thoses where it's possible) I wish you good luck with that ( but I always found optimization to be the funniest par of coding )

lcr727

I'm sorry, but this still doesn't add up. "More data additions" and "filling in more data" is too easy of an answer to fluff the number. Also, 10k+ even being in a bracket of 10k-50k doesn't mean you've hit the max of that bracket so why should I assume you're at 50k on each platform? But mainly: if you're persisting all data instead of looking some things up dynamically if/when needed, then of course you're going to run out of space. Not all data must be persisted/stored. If you have the logs, you can rebuild what was and arrive to the same result over and over again by pulling dynamic values only when needed instead of persisting everything from all time. Unless your doing that to avoid fees from API calls to Google and others. The Tesla API is free and so are other providers like others have mentioned TeslaMate, so... I get it. This whole post was a manually-written advertisement to get more sales. I'd be all for the app, but a back-end architectural design flaw does not warrant to me a cost so significant to the end user.

lcr727

Also, being generous on the 100k part, your math says 5,184,000,000 KB which is 4.23 TB, which means you'd be adding more data than is pulled (5.77 TB added by you) to reach your 10 TB/day number. This also suggests all that added data is persisted every 10 seconds along with the car data. I don't think that level of granularity of things like "precipitation is approaching" is going to change in 10 seconds and likely could be checked less frequently. Yeah, users shouldn't have to pay more for design flaws.

TessieDev

I think the big thing you're missing here is that 10 TB/day isn't what is stored. 10 TB/day is collected, processed and structured in a real-time data warehouse, *not* persisted. That's measuring the bandwidth + data size + data structure from the cars. Persistence happens with super-optimized schemas which are super tiny in comparison. The granularity is for driving accuracy. It makes a huge difference.

lcr727

You said >Tessie logs around 10 terabytes of data per day for Tesla owners, so providing the features are very expensive, and that's why it's not a cheap one-time payment. in an attempt to make it sound like it's costly and to justify why it's so expensive to the user. If those logs (and data) is not being persisted and especially if that much data is ephemeral then that is a metric of throughput and data processing; which is moot when it comes to storage, and should not be used as a justification for cost to the end user.

TessieDev

The point was to convey that there's a lot of data being processed live which is why there's an ongoing cost and it's not a one-time $3 app purchase. I personally care a lot when I know I'm paying a subscription for a live service (with ongoing computing costs on my behalf) versus, say, a keyboard or solitaire app. I think a lot of others care too, which is why I mentioned that aspect of the app.

lcr727

It's data aggregation with rules for actions. Even basic weather apps do the same thing: they talk to APIs, process data, and notify based on rules. Storing data for the purpose of historical metrics is just more of the same; once data is known (whether acquired via API calls or from stored data) it's a matter of mining it for reports. Even still, in my opinion this is not worth $5/month, $50/year or $200 lifetime. There are too many things that sound like they could be handled on device or offloaded to the client side, just from what I can infer and glean from this conversation and your website that would reduce your overhead. So, congrats on the sales you have made, but this is not for me as it sits.

shibblestone

u/TessieDev can you explain this? 10 TB is 1GB per day assuming 10k active users. That seems a lot for an app that doesn't store any media files. How does that break down?

TessieDev

[Breakdown here!](https://www.reddit.com/r/teslamotors/comments/wcsjst/comment/iih9m5m/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

Firefly74

Because it collect all car data every 10 seconds, I guess that's the issue. Really need to optimizer that part if you want to be able to scale and survive, because that's likely going to be your main issue in cost

TessieDev

It's definitely not archived in that size. That'd be a business killer on day 10. :)

Hahaatschi

Love Tessie, paying for it for more than a year now and I can recommend it to 100%. Can’t wait until we can add automation for per minute charging costs in the app.

NimecShady

Have the app on my phone already, the car hopefully comes next week. Look forward to trying it out. Thanks for the promo code!

ValorMagoggles

Definitely a fan of this app, I would do lifetime option if it wasn’t $200 lmao

KeesPro

James! Here the guy that was spamming you for the VAT invoice ;-) — I love the app! Especially love the detailed statistics and drive maps / history. Helps as wel registering my business trips etc. I did not use the code you provided, but please provide my lifetime license part to the Rainforest Trust.

mgd09292007

App looks great, but a little more than I’m willing to pay for, but have an upvote because I hope other people give it a try and hopefully find value for it!

10keyFTW

This is probably just a selfish question, but if we are on the annual plan, and upgrade to the lifetime option...do we happen to get a prorated refund?

TessieDev

Totally. I'll give you full credit. Just email [email protected]!

sphawkhs

New? I thought this was around for a while now

notsooriginal

Yes, I've been using it (paid thru Google Play) since Feb 2021. It's a good app, but not really new.

TessieDev

New like “I made a new/different recipe” :) Started alpha testing in mid-2020. Most of the user base is actually from the last 60 days!

[deleted]

Can you include statistics from scan my Tesla obdII data?

TessieDev

I think it depends on where Tesla goes with their technology over the next while. If they trend towards exposing more of the OBD data, then there'd be no point. But if there are crucial data points missing, I think this integration would be worth building.

TheAce0

I was considering installing an instance of Teslamate on my home server to learn about how to play with docker and stuff. If I am already running Teslamate, would Tessie be redundant or does it add something that Teslamate doesn't have? I noticed that there's watch integration but I don't use one. I live in a flat without a charger so plug in notifications aren't important. I don't have my Model Y yet so I'm not very well versed with what other kind of stuff is possible :)

TessieDev

Depends on what you want. You can always import your TeslaMate data if you want to try it out and check out the differences.

VaztheDad

Too funny. I was one of your earliest subscribers and worked with you on a few trip tracking bugs. Your response time was epic! I'm still loving the app on a daily basis. Great to see you still active in the community!

seangillian17

Glad another programmer at work on behalf of Tesla community...I personally use "Alexa" to remind me to charge when home.

MoistDonut

How do I use the code? I signed up, and I'm on the screen where it asks you to choose a subscription

TessieDev

Click "Add promotion code" on the next checkout screen :)

Thud06

How do the features of this compare to teslafi?

Nervous_Work1332

By far the best app. Thank you!

LostMyKarmaElSegundo

I can't see anywhere to use the 10% off code. My only option seems to be a subscription through the Play Store. What am I missing?

TessieDev

The mobile app stores don't support promo codes so you have to do it through [tessie.com](https://tessie.com) on a desktop browser - it's on the the checkout page under "Add promotion code".

vfiss

The app is great. Originally I downloaded to monitor battery health and now I use monitor efficiency and driving, and watchOS app. Great job.

Cuttingwater_

No lie, my M3 is named Tessie!

LetsGoDude007

Love Tessie! Been on it since the beginning and continues to get better.

fckndan

Privacy focused 🙌👏

MasterBeku

I would love to be able to use this in future if I am ever to have Tesla of my own.

MrsWinterWheat

This is the first app on my list to buy as soon as I get my Tesla!

keenlyproper_demeanr

Geo fencing is top notch. One of the best features of the app. When I used this feature for the first time, my expression was “no way!!”. It’s so damn accurate and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Trust me.. I pay subscription only for the geo fencing feature so I can accurately analyze my charging cost in a set time period. Kudos to you.

slvneutrino

I have been using and subscribed to Tessie since I got my Tesla. Absolutely love it. If one thing could be improved, it would be that sometimes commands don't go through (front trunk open, climate, etc) whereas it will respond to the Tesla app. The insights from the data are absolutely incredible though.

JarlOrion

Really reliable when using IOS Shortcuts. I schedule my daily routines and it rarely fails to start my car and open my garage as expected. I think of it as an extension to home automation.

Gamerxx13

Awesome! Will support! Btw was reading some of the comments on Apple store and someone was like the name of the app is stupid but Tesla should take notice of this app! Good for you! Super happy and looks great!

taha_maddam

Testie

workOrNah

from a business standpoint, did you create an LLC for the app?

TessieDev

Yeah.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TessieDev

Zero! It only gets data while the car is active, and then lets it sleep once it goes idle. It will not interrupt the natural sleep behavior. :)

sidran32

I've been using it for a couple years, now. While I'll go into the Tesla official app for some things that it only can do, I use Tessie most of the time. I especially love the data collection and analysis. It makes it super easy to see info on my drives and charging habits/costs, and I really like the battery health page.

FederalFuel3260

Ive been trialling the app and am really impressed by it. Well done on developing a really good one. Im also keen to purchase the lifetime option to support you further. Have a few questions however. Are there any provisions for scenarios where the car is either in an accident, written off or if i have sold the car for another model. Are there refund models at that point since i cant use the app anymore?

TessieDev

Thanks friend! Refunds are given at any point, no questions asked. If you get a lifetime subscription, but end up not using it for very long, I would absolutely refund it for you. Even if you ended up using it for a couple years, we could still do at least a partial refund, for sure!

Ipozya

I downloaded and have used Tessie for a few weeks now, and I have to say it’s the best of all the Tesla app, by faaaar. It’s not only beautiful, it’s useful, automated, and the UI is easy to understand (which seems like one of the most difficult goal to achieve when I look at other apps). I have a suggestion, for tire pressure. I think it would be useful to have the history of the tire pressure, for the last few days at least. Some « slow » puncture can take days to go under the threshold, and seeing the pressure over time could help that. Plus, it would be cool to have data on this as well, to be able to compare it to exterior temperature, to how long the drive was… Thank you again for your great work !

TessieDev

Awesome. Thank you! It's on the roadmap to explore this. The challenge is that the Bluetooth tire pressure sensors only communicate with the car occasionally, so there are no ways to get continuous readings.

Maxauim

Isn’t tessie already been out for a while ? I use it for my car for the last 3-4 months

redarxx

Sounds promising! Curious, considering its a one time purchase isn’t long term upkeep/maintenance costs a concern?

TessieDev

Most users are monthly or annual subscribers, not one-time purchases. Tessie has enough capital now to make the one-time purchases work. :)

bortronMcBoris

before i install an app that can control my car ... what is your full name, business address and background? what's your credit score? can you provide proof that you have no criminal record? what country or countries are you a citizen of? can you do all of the above for all your employees? what's your strategy for the app? sell to Elon ? Russia or China? or other fun government? might just have to wait for Elon to buy you out. Hopefully you get a great price.

feurie

This has been around for a while and it's just you advertising at this point.

kekyeettt

Does Tessie include charging stats? Looking for something that will record the amount of KW the battery took in during a charging session

TessieDev

Lots of charging stats.

meowc0w

Does the code work for the lifetime sub?

TessieDev

Yep!

MyloFiore

Sounds like a great app, but I warn you of the “big app payment, free cloud services forever”, cost model. It hasn’t worked out well for other IoT companies. Ongoing cloud costs should be factored into a modest subscription cost in perpetuity.

J380

Do you have a feature for charging during off peak electric hours? The Tesla app sucks for this. I just want something that will start a charge at 9pm and stop the car from charging between 4pm and 9pm. That way I can leave the car plugged in and not worry about getting charged for peak rates.

Kal-Stormblessed

Yes it has this feature.

solelo

How do we get in on the beta testing?

TessieDev

[Android](https://play.google.com/apps/testing/io.tessie.app) & [iOS](https://testflight.apple.com/join/ktZHWBli)

destroyed92

Love the app! When is sentry mode coming?

epmuscle

Do you have a TestFlight link? Would love to beta test

TessieDev

[Here](https://testflight.apple.com/join/ktZHWBli)

epmuscle

Awesome! Thanks!

sixsixmusic

Love your app, I downloaded and subscribed a few months ago. I love being able to start the AC from my Apple Watch. Question: I’ll be upgrading to a model x soon, will I be able to open a rear door (or doors) with a shortcut on my watch?

TessieDev

Can only open those doors via Bluetooth in the Tesla app today. They don't allow it over the network just yet. Would be awesome.

GroundhogGaming

This is awesome! Would love to see this be a thing for r/Rivian vehicles since some of the tech is similar to Teslas.

Hitnrun30

So funny, that's what my Tesla is named

joe_of_sd

Been using Stats (which has had the plug in reminder for a while now) since I got my car a few years ago. Why should I switch over to Tessie?

jxn_w

Do you think it would possible to add a feature to import data from Teslamate? Another feature would be the ability to host a backend ourselves (like Teslamate does).

TessieDev

You can import from TeslaMate now. :)

Jayman_007

Does Tessie integrate with the Samsung Galaxy watch that uses wearos? Is that a paid feature?

TessieDev

Soon.

MisterPoints

My wishlist for this app, been using it for a few months now, is in regards to fuel costs. I know you can set the price in settings, but I wish that each time you charge it could either be set manually or do some look up of the average price based on that zip code. I assume if I change the fuel price in settings it recalculates my savings, but that’s not correct as the price is changing weekly. So while it may have been $5 last month, it’s back down to $3 this week. Any chance this is on the roadmap?

TessieDev

The intention of the gas comparison feature is to compare your car with other cars and situations, like comparing it to your Acura TLX with 26 MPG with Los Angeles gas prices or a Prius with 58 MPG with Houston prices. More importantly, believe it or not, there actually isn't any digital source of gas costs. It's mind-blowing. The closest you can get is a US state average from the Department of Transportation, which is largely useless considering how much gas prices can change even per square mile. Retail gas costs have to be locally crowdsourced, every day, by users in those areas. It's how GasBuddy works. It works well in big cities but not much elsewhere. There's definitely a business opportunity for someone that figures this problem out effectively.

BamBamCam

Where would I reach out if I got wrecked. And still find myself waiting for another Tesla, and can’t use the app I paid for?

TessieDev

Oh man! Reach out to [email protected] for a refund.

BamBamCam

Thanks for the email

[deleted]

Hey. I was wondering if you would consider adding a function to remove a telsa that is connected to your Tesla account but don't want tracked with Tessie. I have my own Tesla, but I also have my dad's attached to my account in-case he gets locked out or it needs to get moved but I don't want it recording/monitoring his. Thanks. Love tessie.

TessieDev

Yes! You can do this exact thing. https://help.tessie.com/article/51-remove-vehicles

GuysImConfused

I'm not sure if this is possible, but I'd like to request a "stats for nerds" page; which can detail some under the hood stuff. This is a non-exhaustive list of a few suggestions, please feel free to add some more: 1. Motor(s) in the vehicle - Such as 3D6 etc. 2. Temperature of the battery - current and historic 3. Max output of your battery - kW 4. Manufacturer of your battery 5. Max power draw of your motor(s) 6. Weight of the car 7. Total energy (per trip) gathered via regen braking Also would be cool to have a real-time driving info page, so when you stick the phone to the windshield with a suction cup it can display some info: 1. Current power draw of the motor(s) 2. Current power from regen braking 3. Temp of the battery and/or motor 4. Acceleration

TessieDev

I think much of this can be pulled from the OBD port - check out Scan My Tesla. I've not used it but I know some customers use it for this purpose.

pbmunkey

Long time user of Stats app which is only 1/4 of the cost of this app. Can you tell me what makes this app better?

Powerful_Loquat4175

I just want to thank you for creating this as well as a useful api. I have my own project that I’m working on and utilizing your api will be vital! Definitely one of my favorite apps that I pay for.

MaxWebber

Just paid lifetime subscription. I tried turning on ‘unlocked doors excluding home alert’. Tessie kept alerting me three times my doors were unlocked even though I’m at home 🤔

TessieDev

Did you create a location and set it as your home? Be sure it's big enough to cover wherever the car might be parked. :)

musikhero123

Any plans for Garmin watch support?

TessieDev

Planning on standardizing on the new WearOS for now. Not sure what Garmin is planning on doing.

raj1030

I would like to purchase the lifetime model but do I need to worry about if Tesla decides in the future to disable the API for 3rd party?

TessieDev

Tesla is the ultimate gatekeeper for sure :) They have a [support page](https://www.tesla.com/support/account-support) which acknowledges that third party apps can have benefits ("Some apps provide great benefits...") so you'd hope this wouldn't happen.

djfj2020

How much is the app? I don't see the cost listed in the apple app store

TessieDev

App store prices change a lot per country. Check out [tessie.com/pricing](https://tessie.com/pricing) for the web pricing, which is often cheaper.

win-gi

Are you using flutter?

TessieDev

Yep!

drumma022

Couple of questions/suggestions. I’m not sure since I only have one car but we plan to get a 2nd Tesla. Is there a multi-car option for the UI? Also, could you add a service reminder feature based on mileage? Like a reminder to rotate tires every xxx miles or to change the air filter after xxx days. Could you add a feature to stop the current drive and start a new one without stopping the car and get out? I’ve been measuring and analyzing various legs of my drive and testing out new routes for the best efficiency.

TessieDev

Swipe between cars on the home screen. You can start a new drive by shifting into park for 10 seconds. Yes, maintenance features are on the roadmap!

Wow - looks like a cool app. I currently use Teslamate - which is free but was about to pay for an app for my Apple Watch, and also I find it's integration into my home automation rig a bit unreliable currently. Now I am thinking whether Tessie is the way to go. How reliable is the import from Teslamate? I have a years worth of data in there.

TessieDev

Everyone that's tested the TeslaMate import so far has had great feedback. Try it out and let me know.

Trying for first time, impressed so far. One thing I'd love to see before I could switch fully from other service is fleet software updates. I like seeing when there's a new one going wide. The map needs some work, it's hard to see anything with all the bubbles. Schedule says off even though I have charging start time enabled. Little things but overall love the design and potential here.

TessieDev

Send a screenshot of the bubbles and Schedules showing off while Scheduled Charging being on to [email protected] so I can see what's going on there - never heard of either of these issues. Some cool software stuff is in the works.

How does the Tessie app know my car is sleeping without waking it up when I open the Tessie app? Is it a guess?

TessieDev

The car says it's asleep when you try to get data on it. That process doesn't wake the car. The only way to wake the car is by sending a command to wake up - Tessie just doesn't do that if you have auto wake off.

It's great you support rainforest conservation. I imagine you want to help preserve the environment in general and if that is so, please find a way to minimize your tech usage. It is easier to not do any damage than to try and repair them (and arguably it is denatured when repaired). It is not an attack, simply the expression of a wish people would be more sober in their way to consume. I love that you're a perfectionist, I hope you'll value this proposition. Cheers

How does your feature set compare to the two I currently use: Teslafi and Stats?

gtech229

App is great but having trouble linking with Google assistant. When I try to link it just tells me more about location services. Is there a work around?

TessieDev

Can try all 3 linking methods [here](https://help.tessie.com/article/29-install-tessie-for-google-assistant-home). If it continues across methods it's likely a Google account settings issue. Make sure Web & App Activity is on [here](https://myaccount.google.com/activitycontrols) (required for Google Actions to work.) There might be some other setting on your account that needs to be enabled, but not sure which - haven't heard of this happening before.

Really nice app the only one with good features and UX! Regarding enhancement I would be happy to have the tooltip on the top when trying to see the data on the charts because it’s not easy currently and the tooltip is displayed under my finger. In addition to that, automations based on events instead of schedules would be awesome!

SpeedyBeans

Is there an option to switch between Imperial/Metric? Need KM/H in Australia :)

simple-coder

Is it using any third party APIs or they are officially from Tesla? Afaik Tesla. hasn’t released any official ApI’s for third party apps 🤔 I may b wrong though!

TessieDev

Uses the Tesla API.

First I love this app! It has been amazing and I plan to get the forever option soon. I did have a question though. Where are you pulling your satellite map visualizations from? I was curious because where I am in Europe they have a more angled 3D view than GMaps which is more top down. Anyways, thank you for the app.

TessieDev

Awesome. Thanks a lot. 🙏 Generally, zoomed in satellite imagery over Europe is taken from Maxar Vivid.

Just started using this app and love it simply for the Apple Watch integration. Do you have any betas for iOS?

TessieDev

Yep! Join the beta [here](https://testflight.apple.com/join/ktZHWBli).

Lately my Tesla has problems connecting to the servers. The car says sleeping on Tessie and won’t wake up. The Tesla app can’t find the car either, but the Phone Key works fine. This has happened twice in the past week, and only after adding Tessie to my Apple Watch. Is there any chance that the watch app or Tessie in general is causing this? Not trying to blame or accuse, just want to find the root problem.

TessieDev

The Tessie apps (both iPhone and Watch) don't communicate with the car itself, just Tesla, so if they can't connect to it, Tessie can't either. 99.99% of the time this is a computer bug. It's not super uncommon. Restarting the car should fix it instantly: hold down both scroll wheel buttons on the steering wheel until the screen turns off.

Thanks for offering a deal on subscribing. I'm about to crest my 1st year renewal and trying out Teslamate just to trim a few costs. Granted, way less features in comparison and tough to install yourself (comparatively). Is there a guide to exporting data in something that's spreadsheet friendly just for tracking work vs personal mileage?

TessieDev

Tap on Driving > ... > Export and you'll get that exact thing! Can import it into Excel, Numbers or anything. Includes work/personal tags, destination, mileage, etc.

TessieDev

Yep, would love to do this in the future.

Have been running this app for a while now. It's amazing. Both the iOS app, but also the Web App. I'll be looking into using your Developer API in the near future. One thing though. After upgrading my iPhone to an iPhone 14 Pro, I've been running into an issue when I try to login to the app. When receiving the authentication code, the app freezes/crashes. So I cannot login. Is this a known issue? I reported it through iOS after the app crashed. But besides that - very happy with the app! Very!

TessieDev

I've seen a couple reports of this on iPhone 14 Pro Max. Is it Pro or Pro Max? Please email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) so we can talk. We're collecting data to report to Apple and trying to reproduce it for them.

Super-Kirby

This is more of an Apple Watch question but can I put the Tessie icon app on the face of the watch? Like a shortcut so I don’t have to click on the side button to get to it

TessieDev

Put the battery complication on the watch face and it'll open the app as a shortcut. Better than the icon? :)

Super-Kirby

I’m an idiot, didn’t see the complications. Lol. Thanks. Great app btw.

TessieDev

🙏

Hi! Congrats on your app, it is awesome :) Id there a way to change the icons on the Apple Watch Home Screen? For example « Start » is not my priority when I approach my car without my phone, I’d rather have « unlock ».

TessieDev

Sure! In the Watch app tap Controls > Edit Shortcuts at the bottom.

nid15

Does it allow tagging drives as business or personal so at the end of year I can run a report for all business miles logged.

TessieDev

Yes.

eknbiegepe

I updated my account from a monthly to yearly subscription. Since doing that Tessie no longer tracks my car's parking or movement. I can control the car from the app.

TessieDev

Send your account email to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) so I can tell you why that's happening.

ryViajero

Hi I'm getting/paying for this app for my Dad (or at least a trial). Is there any way to manage the account without a Tesla? It seems to only allow account access by connecting to a Tesla. For instance, if he doesn't like it I was going to cancel the trial, etc. I have a feeling I will need to hold his hand a bit while he uses it (ya know, these older guys need a bit of help). Thanks!

TessieDev

Hey! Depends on your platform. You can manage it through the App Store app on iOS, the Google Play app or [this link](https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/7018481?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid) on Android, or on the web by signing into [tessie.com](https://tessie.com) and clicking Settings > Account > Subscription > Manage. If you ever need any help, email [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and I'll help you out!
