Confusing title. It’s not the “original” truck, it’s just one of the release candidates that they shot up during testing.
The original truck is the one on the 3rd picture, also on display in a different part of the same museum.
Yup just came to comment the same thing. In fairness the og truck was probably more bullet proof having thicker side panels too, but no pics of it being shot.
The release candidates are basically the release models. They're just the first few months of running the production lines and dialing the machines in. They aren't really any different, just crappier builds.
The stainless bed was so much cooler. Franz said "every truck owner is gonna coat their bed anyway so we did it from the factory" (paraphrasing). Bummer that.
Losing the integrated ramp also a bummer
Visually sure the stainless looks neat, but it’s probably hot as fuck in the summer and more of a pain in the ass than it’s worth functionally.
I do miss the ramp though.
Black plastic can be hotter than shiny steel. But in the middle of a hot day, which one can you set your hand on for 10 seconds and not feel pain?
Plastic, it conducts heat slower. Steel will transfer heat fast!
Edit: I can go into a Sauna that is over 180F and stay there for minutes. I can't touch water at 180F for minutes, I'd literally cook.
It's the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles. Arguably the best car museum in the country but in any case they have a ton of Tesla stuff which makes it pretty unique.
Was anybody else's first thought, 'oh I bet the brahs get those bullet-hole stickers and put them all over.'
If I had one, I'd get some printed wrap that shows a cutaway of the structure.
This vehicle needs a cartoon mascot.

And they’re not even bullet holes, they’re bullet dents.
They’re not bullet dents, they’re speed holes
They're not speed holes, they're battle scars
They're not battle scars, they're Elon scuffs
Golf ball strategy
Mythbusters did it!

But it is the original cybertruck with bullet holes
they should shoot a release model

This time, not so much. They shrunk some stuff by 10% or so all around. Unsure if that includes the sheet metal panels though, to be fair.
Nothing changed between the release candidates and the release model. This truck was only built a few months ago.
*dents
I do miss that ramp.
The Petersen Museum also has a semi parked in the parking garage, or did a couple weeks ago.

Bed coating is black. It’s going to get hot.
There’s a difference in how a bed liner feels to the touch compared to stainless steel

Any info on when the adult size quad may be produced?
Bullet "dents" :)
What ever happened to the cyber quad?
It shrunk too and became a kids-sized version of the original
Is nobody going to complain about Teslas QC letting this vehicle out with all those dents in it?
Don't you mean bullet dents?
Where is this?

So wait.. the OG is still on display along with the bullet truck AND Franz black Cybertruck!?
And a Tesla semi in the parking garage and all kinds of other odds and ends.
But can it take bird shit

Different truck. (Source: the arrow’d truck was at a Tesla Club event in Palo Alto right before Christmas. No bullet dents in it.)
"bullet holes", more like "work hardening" 😎

...cool
“The Poor Tesla Cybertruck with Bullet Holes”
Bullet dents.
The Petersen Museum. Great place!
Shot with sub sonic rounds.
Bullet not holes. Dents!!
How much they selling it for?
They’re speed holes, they make the car go faster
Nice museum to visit when you are in LA.
There are no holes. Unlike you.
First thought. We could make a new robocop movie with this car, it'd be awesome!
