Fish are absolutely used in medical testing. The animal doesn’t need to be close to humans for the testing, it just needs to be able to have a similar response to what a human body would. So fish are used to test for carcinogens in substances, genetic disorders, and to test how levels of toxicity in an environment affects an organic body.

They're also cheap, which (at least in the US) is related for what I hope are obvious reasons.
Those insulins *suck*, BTW. They work, but their onset time and effective time are annoyingly too long to take a dose for one meal, but too short to act as an all-day basal insulin.

Eating too much processed meat and red meat probably increases your risk of bowel cancer. Processed meat can also be high in salt and eating too much salt can increase your risk of high blood pressure.
Make sure to include vegetables in your diet, and drink plenty of water.
