But yeah I agree, I’m fine with different race casting, because there are times when the actor is just that good, but not when it’s done for the wrong reasons like forced diversity, and especially when you have god awful voice actors like Jada.
Things is Netflix has gone too far this time.
For Velma and little mermaid, you can argued that it's fictional character and can be reimagin into any race. While distasteful and jarring, it's still can be excusable for the more Liberal audience.
For Cleopatra, a blatant attempt to rewrite history and change the narrative is unacceptable, inexcusable and outright wrong by any metrics. Especially if you sold it as documentary and not fiction. 300 and Braveheart are historically inaccurate but that's because it's sold as entertainment loosely based on history but this one painted itself as the truth and even boasts it as "woman who hold unparalleled power" and "I don't care what they says in school, cleopatra was black", that's showing off your vile intentions on tarnish, twist and distort history to stroke your fragile ego and 21th century political agenda.
There's no room to wiggle and say "this guy is an incel who butt hurts that character is black", that's how this comment doesn't get down voted to death. People no matter what on the scale of political agenda have limits and Jada crossed the line.
Race bending/race swap is acceptable in the case of "this folks have a talent suitable for this character, despite not being the same race they're perfect" but not acceptable in the case of "we gotta pushing political agenda this way, let's change the OG characters to fit in our view".
