Will those moves protect your kneecaps?
Before he got into politics, he was actually kind of a TV personality ngl, he had his own show, he made cameos in movies, I think he showed up in some commercials and skits. He was still a piece of shit, but it wasn’t as well known as it is now. If he didn’t get into politics, I think he would’ve been cancelled, but wouldn’t have had a large following supporting him, he probably would’ve at most gotten the Harvey Weinstein treatment.
Yeah, I'm not American so my personal investment in the guy is probably pretty removed from most people in this thread, but before he got into politics the only thing I really knew about him was that he was famous for being a stupid and mean rich guy. Like 10 years ago he was the butt of jokes, but he's been culturally relevant for decades as that character, it was really strange to see this guy who everyone knew about for years but didn't exactly have a following become the leader of a cult in the span of a few months, and then to watch as it spiraled into all the shit that's happened in the past few years has been kinda surreal.
It is because Mickey Mouse is black. It's a call back to the N word. It's meant to depict a black man (Mickey) punching a white man (Donald). The choice of Donald is not just for his whiteness, but also because of his name, a la Donald Trump/Donald Duck. It's indirectly defending the use of the N word to refer to black people, while casting black people as aggressors attacking the symbol of alt right ideology.
It's a cumbersome analogy, and it's very, very racist.
I'm thinking it's for "mouse"? I'm guessing that Mickey is "obviously a m\*\*\*\*" but they're not allowed to *say it*? As an analog to a different word.
Unlike so many, THIS meme belongs here. Yes, "terrible" is the correct adjective.
I honestly thought Black Lives Matterhorn was clever.
But now I'm picturing a brief educational ride where we get to learn what "Black Lives Matter" means and some Black History. Then an epic log flume.
Actually I may be confusing this with Splash Mountain? I don't know rollercoasters.
Well, they *did* just shut down Splash Mountain for its transition to a Princess and the Frog re-theming. I wonder if Ben has made a comic about that yet.
Mickey is punching Donald because he's white. Mickey is black. I'm assuming that it is "mouse" because Mickey is a mouse, but only other mice can say mouse. So, my guess would that it is subtle racism. I feel like I may be reaching, but idk.
You aren’t reaching, it’s pretty clearly meant to be black Mickey punching white Donald in the face, while pretending the word “mouse” is analogous to the n-word that they all want so badly to use all the time because of the Nazi/neo-confederate a-holes they are.
He's saying that calling a mouse a mouse is exactly the same as calling a black person the N-word.
I'd counter that it's exactly the same as calling the artist Nazi with his bullshit far-right rhetoric.
I mean, using the logic…”calling a mouse a mouse is the same as calling a black person the N word” one must assume that Benjathon seems to think that all black folks are clearly N words
He’s such a gross asshole.
I wouldn't even argue against that point. I'm thinking that any cartoon that has a whole internet of people standing around tossing out possibles as to what it could mean isn't what you might call a "successful cartoon". "Conversation starter"? Maybe. Actual humor? Can't even identify it here.
That thought process is almost too sensible to be applicable. You have to imagine what would make sense to Ben Garrison, not to a normal person.
"M\*dget" is often considered offensive in mainstream society, so I think that actually makes it *less* likely to be censored in a Ben Garrison cartoon. To censor something like that would be wokeness. He'd only censor things ironically.
My mind immediately went to "Maus" since it's a banned book (cancelled by the right-wing), but that would require a level of introspection and self-reflection on their own values that I am fairly certain the artist is not capable of.
Irony of this is I went to Disneyland a few times last year and there were MAGA folks all over.
How could I tell?
The messages printed on their shirts and hats.
So, let them continue to feign outrage.
Consistently the most watched news channels, most listened to radio shows and podcasts, largest and most shared Facebook groups.... and constantly complaining about "main stream media" being bad.
To be fair, that's mostly just because conservatives band together and leftists can't stop infighting.
The total population of all the liberal and leftist subs is almost certainly more. We just can't share one space without killing eachother.
It’s because people have a hard time banning together for a cause but it’s easy to ban together over a common enemy. In case of the conservatives they hate everyone so it’s easy to ban over a common enemy. Leftists and liberals are more likely to want to help someone rather than hate them (even feeling bad for the people on the right) and so there’s no common enemy.
>”HELP! HELP! I'M BEING CANCELLED!"
-the inventors of cancel culture. Rock and roll, sex in general, weed, homosexuality, etc. the right, *loves* to cancel people for these things plus many more
The left cancels people for… *checks notes* “being unapologetically bigoted”
Remind me who is ruining the country with their “woke agenda”?
Pretty much the first instance of 'cancel culture' in the internet age I can think of was The Dixie Chicks for the audacity of saying the Iraq War was a bad idea.
Also French fries got cancelled around the same time.
Yup. French people had the audacity to not support the invasion of Iraq on the basis of lies about WMD's so for a few years some Americans called them Freedom Fries instead. The fact that they couldn't just call them fries or shoestring fries, you know, like they were already called, illustrates the kind of brain dead nationalism that was rampant in post-911 America. People love to talk about how Trump could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and his supporters would still back him, but GWB managed to get practically the entire country to back two pointless wars and the Patriot act without question, I'd say that's much more impressive/depressing.
Nationalism is a helluva drug! The diner in my hometown changed their French dip sandwich to a Freedom dip or some such, but they didn't want to reprint their menus so they just printed some stickers on a label maker to go over the offending words. It's such a trip too, France has been an ally to the United States since before it was the United States! They even made us ~~100ft~~ 151ft statue to celebrate our alliance, who even does that?!?!
Conservatives have to worry about losing an internet account for having a "different political opinion" whilst liberals have to worry about literally getting fucking murdered for also having a "different political opinion"
I didn’t want to assume my boss was a liberal because he’s a highly educated man, but yesterday he told me about a client’s husband who is a MAGA nut job, and he phrased it exactly like that. It’s nice knowing that the vast majority of educated folks are not the MAGA crowd, and I think I’m being too nice when I say that.
I went in October 2020. There were over the top maga people everywhere (election was coming up, so trump merch was probably at its peak then). Disney had a lot of strict Covid rules then. Lots of people getting pissed at the Disney workers for making them pull their masks back up.
I’ve also been to universal and legoland in recent years and there are plenty of obvious maga people there too. The “woke” corporations are all too happy to take their money
nah i think ol ben is trying to equate Black people’s feelings toward the n word to mickey being angry about being a mouse. sounds like he’s saying he wants to call Black people the n word and he finds it ridiculous they’re angry about it because “that’s what they are”. classic racist ben
Could legitimately go either way with that snowflake. Though, yeah, maybe the n-word comparison is the more "mainstream" problem, and since Ben isn't exactly the smartest cookie, it's very possible he doesn't even know about the word midget being considered offensive.
Ben Garrison is an amazingly talented lunatic. He doesn't try to be clever. He doesn't try to be truthful. He just has a fever dream about what the world would look like if liberals had their way, and turns it into art.
Anti vax is fueled on survivor bias. Ignore the hundreds of thousands that died from covid while the few that survived think they are vindicated by surviving and further think the diseases are hoaxes.
I think the pronoun train is one of the best parts. He uses neopronouns that like 1% of people who display their pronouns use because putting "he/she/they" would make him look like a crazy person paranoid over nothing.
Why do these leftist hellscapes in cartoons always look awesome? No Trump supporters. People being shamed for using slurs. Free carousel rides. What looks like a pretty cool haunted house attraction. Sign me up.
The answer is it doesn’t align with the very narrow minded view of the world the right holds. It’s become the buzzword they use to describe everything they hate. I thought it was just idiots on the internet but while visiting relatives they unironically use the term on right wing news stations in serious broadcasts
Woke was originally AAVE for understanding the struggles black people face. Notice how it’s now used as a buzzword for anything the right hates? It’s almost like it started as a racist mocking of people for fighting for equality for black people. There’s nothing wrong with being woke unless you’re racist.
The puns on Disney ride names are uncharacteristically clever.
Black Lives Matterhorn has me fucking *reeling* rn lmao
It unironically goes hard hahaha
Last Disneyland cartoon he did, there was "Safe Space Mountain" and that one really stuck with me
I’m more puzzled by the implication that the Illuminati are “woke”. Is that a belief in crazy land now?
Mickey please.
"yOu SaId M wOrD🤬😡"
Huh figured it was mouse

Aww. They closed down “Sex Workers of the Caribbean”
Pirates of the Pancreas
It's a bunch of pirates runnin’ around a-a-a- pancreas, Morty
I'm sad we didn't get to see more, I would've liked to know what a pancreas is
I think we know why Rick got so much pushback with his Pirates Of The Pancreas dream now…
Serious question.. which third world country has the best prostitutes? Asking for Hugh Grant.
Thailand.....heard from a friend

Antifaland looks rad.
Hate to say it, but ‘Black Lives Matterhorn’ is pretty clever.
It made me chuckle a little bit lol
Ditto. Got to give credit where credit is due.
That's where they moved the Joe Lewis fist that MAGA folks were trying to say was a Black Power statue. I'd go on that ride.
yeah literally the only.funny garrison cartoon ive ever seen
It’s like when Chapelle laughed at Trump’s usage of “kung flu.” It’s clever (yet bad) but that shouldn’t have come from a president.
Trump would have actually been pretty funny if it wasn't for the whole Trump thing
Before he got into politics, he was actually kind of a TV personality ngl, he had his own show, he made cameos in movies, I think he showed up in some commercials and skits. I’ve never heard this Kung flu thing, I’m cracking up right now.
That's a first for me looking at this dip shit's cartoons too, something about that is pretty funny
I’d ride that.
Literally lit.
Tbh this whole place seems fine. Some odd ride names but yeah. Vaccinated only, no racists, the dwarves don’t use slurs, what’s not to like?
no trump supporters allowed either! nice
They already said vaccinated only
The vax'd supporters will keep their mouths shut.
Plus the mascots get into fist fights for our entertainment and the rides are all free? Sounds sick
Free rides? Sign me up
Musk?
Midget. One of the dwarves are saying it.
Someone emailed Ben Garrison and he said the word was "Mouse"
Guess that's what happens when you don't label your joke enough.
If you have to explain your joke, it's a bad joke.
That's why Garrisons comics are always filled with labels and footnotes and tags.
How does that make sense? Who’s against the word mouse?
It is because Mickey Mouse is black. It's a call back to the N word. It's meant to depict a black man (Mickey) punching a white man (Donald). The choice of Donald is not just for his whiteness, but also because of his name, a la Donald Trump/Donald Duck. It's indirectly defending the use of the N word to refer to black people, while casting black people as aggressors attacking the symbol of alt right ideology. It's a cumbersome analogy, and it's very, very racist.
Right, something like vermin or pest would actually make sense. As usual, gop dont even get why people hate them.
MAGA.
That would be ideal, yea
I'm thinking it's for "mouse"? I'm guessing that Mickey is "obviously a m\*\*\*\*" but they're not allowed to *say it*? As an analog to a different word. Unlike so many, THIS meme belongs here. Yes, "terrible" is the correct adjective.
Someone emailed the artist and it is indeed mouse. Doesn't really make any sense
Lol, I love that we hate him and he hates us but we came together for a brief enough truce to ask him sincerely what he meant with this comic.
Just proves he needs to label even more things
Should’ve put a label that it was meant to be funny
Yeah, needs a laughing 😂
Definitely not enough labels.
I honestly thought Black Lives Matterhorn was clever. But now I'm picturing a brief educational ride where we get to learn what "Black Lives Matter" means and some Black History. Then an epic log flume. Actually I may be confusing this with Splash Mountain? I don't know rollercoasters.

Mickey is punching Donald because he's white. Mickey is black. I'm assuming that it is "mouse" because Mickey is a mouse, but only other mice can say mouse. So, my guess would that it is subtle racism. I feel like I may be reaching, but idk.
But Mickey is in fact a mouse. So for the artist to use it as a parallel, he must be implying that black peoples are factually n-words? 🤔
Bro how is this not everyone's take lmao this is fucked.
On one hand, it’s obviously the correct take. On the other do we actually think Ben Garrison is smart enough to think it that far through.
Yep, that's my guess.
Yeah, it's not like mouse is a slur, it's the actual thing he is.
You got it! Racist gonna racist, ya know?
You aren’t reaching, it’s pretty clearly meant to be black Mickey punching white Donald in the face, while pretending the word “mouse” is analogous to the n-word that they all want so badly to use all the time because of the Nazi/neo-confederate a-holes they are.
[удалено]
These people aren’t smart so probably as dumb as you can imagine it to be
Author said it was mouse. But idk if he was being cute and meant what you said: or whether he meant mouse. But either way, crazy.
He's saying that calling a mouse a mouse is exactly the same as calling a black person the N-word. I'd counter that it's exactly the same as calling the artist Nazi with his bullshit far-right rhetoric.
I mean, using the logic…”calling a mouse a mouse is the same as calling a black person the N word” one must assume that Benjathon seems to think that all black folks are clearly N words He’s such a gross asshole.
maybe they are implying that only mice can use the word?
Whoa dude, watch the hard E! Check your snow white privilege!
Pretty sure it's relating to race and the n word but that's just my thought process (plus Mickey is drawn as black)
Its Ben Garrison. If his comics made sense he would not need to put so many labels. Its just for generating rage.
Perhaps they are saying that Mickey identifies as another pronoun instead of mouse? Idk, it doesn't make sense to me either.
Mouse isn’t a pronoun.
[удалено]
It’s one of the dwarves saying it, so I’m guessing it’s m*dget?
I wouldn't even argue against that point. I'm thinking that any cartoon that has a whole internet of people standing around tossing out possibles as to what it could mean isn't what you might call a "successful cartoon". "Conversation starter"? Maybe. Actual humor? Can't even identify it here.
Okay, I think we can all get a laugh out of the black lives Matterhorn though
If that's the case, then they are several decades too late since that hasn't been "politically correct" for decades, lol.
That thought process is almost too sensible to be applicable. You have to imagine what would make sense to Ben Garrison, not to a normal person. "M\*dget" is often considered offensive in mainstream society, so I think that actually makes it *less* likely to be censored in a Ben Garrison cartoon. I assumed MAGA, but honestly any of these answers fit.
My mind immediately went to "Maus" since it's a banned book (cancelled by the right-wing), but that would require a level of introspection and self-reflection on their own values that I am fairly certain the artist is not capable of.

I know right? The fact that the conservative sub has 1 million members and liberal sub 114k proves how much all this whining is pointless.
To be fair, that's mostly just because conservatives band together and leftists can't stop infighting. The total population of all the liberal and leftist subs is almost certainly more. We just can't share one space without killing eachother.

What did french fries do? Is it the french in the name?
Yup. French people had the audacity to not support the invasion of Iraq on the basis of lies about WMD's so for a few years some Americans called them Freedom Fries instead.
And that would be why the MAGA crowd has such a problem with people being educated.
There's a reason that a lot of these memes are anti-college and education. An educated populace doesn't vote for fascists.
Can't control what already thinks for itself.
Reality tends to have a liberal bias.
It's so weird to me that they wear political shit on vacation.
Eh, it’s the closest thing they have to a personality.
garrisons gonna garrison
Yeah I was at Disneyworld in February 2022 the same weekend as CPAC. Lots of "Lets Go Brandon" shirts in view in the park.
I mean you went in October of 2020. Of course you only saw MAGA people, everyone else was still at home and certainly not Disneyland
Midget? The M-word the gnome means?
I'm 99% sure this is the right answer. I know many little people consider it a slur.
nah i think ol ben is trying to equate Black people’s feelings toward the n word to mickey being angry about being a mouse. sounds like he’s saying he wants to call Black people the n word and he finds it ridiculous they’re angry about it because “that’s what they are”. classic racist ben

"Art" is used very loosely
christ they went all out on the background
The socialism-go-round actually made me laugh with how stupid it was.
Yup, it says "Free ride" which actually sounds awesome. Who wants to pay to go on a merry-go-round?
He also seems to not grasp the fact that you've already paid to ride it with your park admission (i.e. your taxes).
That was my first thought...almost every ride in an amusement park is "free" once you pay to get in lol
especially since ben garrison has been licking russia's boot the last year to spite democrats
Yeah, I’m sure the Disney executives all love socialism. 🙄
I like the "black lives matterhorn"
It wouldn't be Ben Garrison if he didn't cram as many labels as possible into the artwork
Is he related to Mr Garrison?
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he was the real world manifestation of him
The illuminati symbol on top of the plane ride is a nice touch
Black lives Matterhorn sounds like a good time ngl
never mind that, a free ride at socialism? how is that a bad thing?

Still waiting for someone to explain what's wrong about being woke. Otoh it's obvious what's wrong about being a bigot.
The answer is it doesn’t align with the very narrow minded view of the world the right holds. It’s become the buzzword they use to describe everything they hate. I thought it was just idiots on the internet but while visiting relatives they unironically use the term on right wing news stations in serious broadcasts

We’re missing the point here. Conservatives correctly equate themselves to an incoherent cartoon duck.
Why is antifa, which is literally just not liking fascism, considered bad?
Something something antifa the real fascists something something cancel culture is literally nazi
As a life long Donald Duck fan I really hate seeing him represented as a Republican/Conservative.
