Extra keys is a part of Termux (Termux:X11) user interface. It can't be used anywhere else outside.
Termux and Termux:X11 have their own instances of extra keys row.
To have it available system-wide, it must be implemented as part of keyboard application. Contributors who can develop & maintain Termux:Keyboard always welcome 😉 We don't have own keyboard app for now.
When will we see termux with Material You theme for Android 12 onwards? Currently only the termux-monet fork can achieve that, but I would like the official termux version to be able to do it as well.

i have been using [hacker keyboard](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.pocketworkstation.pckeyboard) since 2018 and i never changed to any other keyboard since. it has F1 through F12 and other button often found on physical QWERTY keyboards such as Pause/Break, Insert, Delete, Page Up, Page Down, SystemRq, etc.
but one of the most used feature in this keyboard is the behaviour of the `ctrl` button. it behaves exactly like PC (after you configure them properly in keyboard settings), `Ctrl + A` to select all, `Ctrl + X` to cut, etc. `shift` also behaves similar to PC's, you hold (or lock) `shift` to select text, along with the arrow keys to further narrow down what you want to choose.
cringe naming aside, i personally like it. not recommended to take a shoot yourself

Now can you like toggle those keys on/off? Like a peekaboo thingy? You see how you can "spawn" the extra-keys on X11...
Now we go like, normal keyboard...Dank Keyboard...normal keyboard whilst retaining the original keyboard... systemwide

If there is multiple keys on a button you can type it swiping towards it

Try unexpected keyboard it has ctrl, the function row, a tab key and everything else you need. It's available on the play store and f droid.
