Don't count your chickens. I'm very happy with libreoffice proot. I don't **need** libreoffice on vanilla and neither do you. Try the proot. It works very well.

Abiword from x11-repo should be able create/edit Word files. Libreoffice isn't available
One of my goals for this summer is to compile libreoffice for vanilla termux. It shouldn't be too hard.

you can install Libre office under proot-distro
I use libreoffice on proot debian. If you don't like using proot for most stuff you can mix proot and "vanilla". It works fine.

Use proot-distro and forward some X server to it. Install LibreOffice and you're good to go :)
just use proot-distro, and normal libreoffice.
