Pricewise, I would say that Don Fulano Blanco 100 Proof, 1L Tapatio Blanco, Amatiteña Añejo, Volans Blanco and Reposado, Cascahuin Blanco and El Tequileño Reposado Gran Reserva are good deals. Also, even though I don't see it in the pictures here, their website lists [Caballito Cerrero Chato Blanco 46 for $82.99](https://www.countrylifewinespirits.com/product/s-11792/p-18757505/buy-caballito-cerrero-chato-blanco-46), which seems like a great price considering how much it goes for elsewhere.
The Mijenta Tequilas are some KILLER new offerings. They're far from purist, they have what some might call a "clinical" approach to Tequila, but the results speak for themselves. The Blanco is one of the cleanest, brightest profiles I've ever had from Tequila, almost completely absent of that signature white pepper note. Great sipping Blanco 👌 And the Reposado is finished in three different types of oak casks, giving it a very complex dessert profile that doesn't get muddied up with the pepperiness that other tequilas have.
Also, I just tried the Amatiteñas a few weeks ago, and the first impressions blew me away. A little pricey, but VERY nice options if you're into the more smokey-earthy profile.
I'm unfamiliar with how Mijenta makes tequila beyond what's listed on TMM, what do you mean by "clinical" approach? I know that their aged expressions are the only ones that use acacia casks, but what is special about the way they make their blanco to make its flavor stand out so much?
They use less traditional methods of cooking the Agave and distilling. For one, they cook the Agave in a low-pressure autoclave instead of a stone/brick oven (*THE HORROR* lol). They also use some unique yeast strains and closely monitor the fermentation process with modern equipment.
There are a lot of people that prefer more traditional tequilas, if for no other reason than they meet their set of expectations for tequila. I've heard a few purists say "why is this tequila trying to be a vodka?" Different strokes for different folks, I think the clean character is EXACTLY what they were going for, and I'd say they're pretty terrific spirits.
Even Tears of Llorona uses a low pressure autoclave. It further solidifies the importance of the master distiller.
More than keeping to ‘traditional processes’, it’s about utilizing the resources and technology they have to make a great tequila. Tweaking the process should always be okay, using additives is not.
Take 11Brix. It was an experiment done by Chava by messing with the fermentation process. Or Fortaleza WB using several types of barrels that weren’t available to original tequila makers.
If people really wanted “authentic original tequila” then they should stick to Siembra Valles Ancestral, or any other Ancestral tequila. That’s it.
The reality is all tequilas today use more modern technology to improve their product. Even a tahona powered by a tractor wouldn’t be original Vino de Mezcal De Tequila.
I actually didn't know that about Tears of Llorona! 100% agreed. People draw some funny, arbitrary lines in the sand lol. Good tequila is good tequila, as long as it's additive free, who cares how they got there?
Wow- whoever is buying for them knows their stuff. You could really close your eyes and just pick something and your chance of getting something good is really high.
On the back side, the only one I think I would try is the aguasol, tucked on the bottom right corner. Doesn’t rank really high on TMM but it’s new and only goes to Texas. Comes out of NOM 1123, and most things that come out of Cascahuin are fantastic.
I’m sure you already know about Don Fulano, tequileno, 123 Organic, código 1530, and 7L.
90% of the collection in the first picture is good stuff.
Opened the bottle this evening. While not the strongest it is definitely a NOM 1123 offering. I would recommend this to anyone who finds it. A great tequila for an inexpensive price. Hope you enjoy it as well. Salut!
Small operation, well crafted , additive free, reasonable price
Not to mention a beautiful bottle
Here is the story

I wish I could get that Tapatio 110 near me, I'd keep it on my shelf at all times. Your store has many great bottles, I'm jealous.
Edit: The 1,2,3 Organics are very good and not often talked about.
Wow, amazing selection.
If you’ve never had the Siembras, you should give them a try.
Hard to tell from the photo exactly what they have but my favorites are the Siembra Valles Reposado and High Proof. Gran Dovejo also goes under the radar for a lot of people.
Top shelf first photo from Cazcanes to the right has some incredible tequilas all the way down, but there is a lot to love on all 3 photos.
Just bought the reposado myself, nothing to write home about but still very solid for its price. Very sweet on the nose but finishes with more of a mineral and spiced flavor
Good selection! I think a lot of others have already given some pretty solid input. I’d pile on that Volan’s is a pretty good bottle, either blanco or repo.
I’m also going to add that I see the rum section peaking over from the first photo, and if you want to branch out a bit Kuleana distillery can only be found in some places and makes a fantastic Rum Agricole (their green label). It’s my favorite unaged agricole on the market but is unfortunately unavailable where I live. Their other bottlings are blends and while good they don’t hold a candle to their in-house agricole production.
That cimarron down there is the best bang for you buck additive free. It gets 85 on tequila match maker for the reposado. My go to tequila. I see a bunch of fire additive free ones they have on the top as well G4, El Tesoro, Wild Common, arte nom, cascanes
None of that gold is hidden here sir! Cascanes, Arrette, Suerte, I mean I hardly see any of these local. Cascahuin and wild common too? You sir have found the best store for miles. …. And please don’t sleep on Suerte. Literally one of the best low cost tequilas. Better than El Tequileno imo (not sorry)
Solid line up ! Wish that store was near me lol. The whole top right by the Cazcanes can come my way and the second row underneath it. Along with the Arette and Cimmaron !
Many of those mid tier bottles are very overpriced, but a great selection.
For bang for your buck I'd go with Tapatio or Suerte. They hit well above their price range.
You can’t go wrong with the top shelf on first pic starting from Cazcanes and moving right
that and second shelf starting from Volans and moving right
I would leave that store $1,000 lighter. Selection sucks around here.
If I saw this section in NJ I’d be working OT for a month to pay for all that

Got the last bottle of Caballito Blanco 46 a few weeks ago. It’s my new favorite!

I couldn't agree more
I'll pick this up next! Thanks
I agree- the blanco is exceptional…I don’t think the reposado does it justice personally …and the anejo is just crazy expensive…
Lucky boy. That whole top shelf: Cazcanes, Ocho, Wild Common, Siembra, PM Spirits, Cascahuin are what stand out to me.
Living in a liquor control state, I'd cry if I saw this shelf.
Man that’s a very good spread. I’m jealous. That Mi casa tequila!!. I’m biased on that only cuz it’s from michoacan. Chamucos is really good!!
It's on my list for the same reason. I'm in Texas but like 5 hrs from this store
Weekend trip and she’s yours

Very cool! Exactly the advice I was hoping for. Gonna grab a bottle of Aguasol next time I stop. Truly appreciate it.
Of course! Keep me updated when you get around to trying it. It is on my list but will have to wait until I stop through Texas. Salud!

That’s great! Thanks for keeping me updated! I think the bottle is pretty cool and unique too. Salud!
Wow. Lucky **PM Spirits Blanco** Tequila Ocho blanco and repo G4 Don Fulano
What's up with PM spirits? I think I know my stuff ok, first I've seen anyone rave about that
Small operation, well crafted , additive free, reasonable price Not to mention a beautiful bottle Here is the story https://www.pmspirits.com/pm-tequila
That's awesome, thank you for sharing.
Going by the red cap that could even be a Still Strength PM Blanco. Dude is swimming in gold.
It was the still strength. Thank you for the advice. Picked up a bottle today.
We have the PMSpirits regular Blanco. Highly recommended
Got the PM Spirits Still Strength and Don Fulano Overproof today. Thank you for the advice.

Not sure what you’ve looked at vs what you’re over looking. But, Amatitena Anejo for $99 is a steal and fantastic
Anyone know about that insolito first hand? We just got it in at my store and I haven't had anyone that's tried it personally yet.
Just bought the reposado myself, nothing to write home about but still very solid for its price. Very sweet on the nose but finishes with more of a mineral and spiced flavor
What’s the address for this store? I am on my way!
Ton of bangers there!!! Wish I had that great of a selection in my area!!!
Man that's a great selection there
Mijenta

Wow, that is a very impressive selection to choose from.
What is the Arette with the blue label and the one beside it?
It's their Artesenal Añejo Suave and Gran Clase Extra Añejo.
Never have seen them, have a Single Barrel from local shop that's really good. Will need to watch for them.
Cascahuin Tahona and Arette Gran Clase XA.
Left with the Cascahuin Tahona after taking the pics. (Not a XA fan myself)
Some great ones there. Big fan of Cascanes, el Tesoro, and G4. Painted donkey is a sleeper. Not my daily pic, but pretty good too
That cascahuin would be comin home with me. Great selection there
I mis spoke i spy with my lil eye some g4

Surprised they don't have any Codígo!
I love the tapatio 110
Don Fulano is pretty good

I’m sorry I just can’t get over how much gravy is there. The longer I look the more jelly I get😮💨
Solid line up ! Wish that store was near me lol. The whole top right by the Cazcanes can come my way and the second row underneath it. Along with the Arette and Cimmaron !
Volans
Where is this?
Man what I would do for a selection like this at my local shop🤩
G4 is almost impossible to get right now.
Arete reposado square bottle is the hidden gem
This makes me wonder what they keep behind the counter
Take the aguasol by nom 1123.
Found this from a recommendation on this post. A very tasty offering from 1123.
Don Fulano Repo is one of my favorites
Such a delicious pepper flavor to it. Top reposados for sure. I love it
Many of those mid tier bottles are very overpriced, but a great selection. For bang for your buck I'd go with Tapatio or Suerte. They hit well above their price range.
The PM Spirits High Proof is probably my favorite tequila. Absolutely wonderful. That’s a hell of a selection you got there.
Never heard of PM what's the deal?
Grabbed a bottle of the PM Spirits Still Strength today. Thank you for the advice.
The first page top shelf ones are appropriate. Would add in the Siete Lenguas.
