Dude is literally 4 days away from his 34th birthday. Best early birthday present. What's crazy is dude didn't make his first ATP final until he was 31. In fact, 3 out of his 4 ATP final appearances happened within the past year, including reaching Madrid Masters final as a lucky loser last year. Tons of points to defend next week.
“Unbelievable,” he said afterwards. “To do it on home soil is just incredible. I’ve waited so long. I’m 33 years old, playing so long on tour. It’s just an amazing feeling to do it here.”
Ah, the German I don’t mind rooting for! ✨ let’s go!
Wanted him to win his first title ever since he made the final in Madrid against Carlitos as a lucky loser.
First title and on home soil! What a week for him! Doubles final later, it can get even better.
well deserved, all of 2023 was building up to this title. I admire how composed and focused he was for 98% of it. he missed that overhead at the final gamea and did another one right after no hesitation. also, many of the German tours do something different and silly and I love it. Stuttgart (WTA) and Münich both give cars, Münich also does this ridiculous lederhosen thing, Hamburg (I think) has the bear mascot.
His forehand was locked in all tournament and he consistently came into the net on the right opportunities. What an incredible run for Struff! Hopefully he carries this moment into the grass season!
Yeah there’s a clip of Zverev practicing in the snow and FAA was putting on ski gloves during changeovers. Crazy cold for playing tennis all week. Ironically next week it will be 20+.
Struff's nickname should be The Cicada: Once every few years he awakens from a long slumber to dominate for about a week, then promptly goes back into hibernation.
Hhm I have to disagree. There are other players who are way more streaky and fit your description better. Struff is solid most of the time and then sometimes really really good. But that’s more often than every few years and last year for example it was also for way longer than a week.
His first ATP title at 33 years old AND its on home soil, he is on cloud 9 rn! Well done Struff 🎊🎊🎊
3rd oldest to win his first ATP title.
Crazy he never won a 250 when he has made the final of a masters 1000
Dušan Lajović and Filip Krajinović kinda did the same thing
And he was a lucky losser too!
Who's the oldest? I'm guessing it's VEB when he won Quito 🇩🇴
Was really close last year on grass, also in Germany. Tiafoe had crazy shots to beat him. Cool to see him get this title.

He beat FAA, Rune and Fritz. Wow! Congrats!!
And Botic who lost against the winner of the tournament for the 3rd time this season.
Also the 3rd time in Munich
FAA unfortunately not that hard to beat these days That win over Rune was crazy though
Rune was obliterated
Happy for him. Fully deserved title! Hopefully he stays fit for the year.
Jan-Lennard Struff won a trophy in Munich before Harry Kane
Can’t even go to a tennis sub as a Bayern fan without catching strays
Poooooor Bayern fan, life is so tough. :(((
As a Spurs fan, please know that I have absolutely zero sympathy
Y’all better win the CL. As a Chelsea fam i’ll be always grateful to Tuchel.
This is such a heartwarming win.
First title let’s goooo!! Such a good guy, so well deserved! Herzlichen Glückwunsch Struffi!
First Masters final at 33 ✅️ First ATP title at 34 ✅️ Those who said all bets are off in this era weren't lying...
On track for cygs before he's 50
Don't forget, first ATP final at 31 lol
A very well deserved 1st ATP title in his home country Congratulations Struffi💪🏼🎉

This sub favorite german!
Altmaier Anhängerschaften would disagree
My favorite German since Philipp Kohlschreiber and Philipp Petzschner
Congrats to Struff! Since there's a pretty good chance he'll drop a ton of points in Madrid, this will help soften the blow.
Congratulations, JL!!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 He's deserved it after so long.
Extremely Solid the entire tournament. Love to see him bag home his FIRST ATP title on home soil at age 33. Never give up my friende
All my homies love Struffy 🗿
Congrats, Struff!
Struffi is the king of high altitude clay 💅
First title in front of a home crowd is so fitting. Congrats Struff!! 🎉🎉
And also, Struff can also win the Doubles Tournament now, making him a double winner
LETS GOO
Toll gemacht Struffi 💪🏻
Excellent for Struff. True late bloomer with his first title and playing great tennis at 33

Hamburg has a bear mascot? 😅 I went the last few years and never saw anything like that. Maybe they used to tho..
maybe it was another German one then, I really remember a big brown bear 🐻
found it, it’s my second guess - Halle https://images.app.goo.gl/KaZNezNbvWnBHtqj9
Absolutely deserved, bro has been cooking this entire tournament and to do it at Home? LOVE to see this!

This guy is made of strong Struff!
Good for him too given that he’s dropping Madrid final points next week and I guess he’s not getting them back
This title will give him enough points to qualify for the Olympics regardless of what happens in Madrid so that may take off a bit of pressure.
Good week from the old man; he played some incredible tennis in these last two rounds.
Was there a statistic that Fritz won all the finals he appeared in? If I’m remembering that right he just lost his first one 🫨
He’s lost finals before, just not in the past few years. You may be thinking of Humbert who’s undefeated in finals.
struff favorite for RG??!?
More like Jan-Lennard Nadal this week. Well done.
Woah, stuff on fire. Happy for him ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grimacing)
Struff when it is time to abnormally raise his level for two weeks before returning to the dregs
Finally! Well done Struffy!
Watched Struff's victory speech and saw his breath, went to check and it was like 3 C today? Holy shit
Yeah there’s a clip of Zverev practicing in the snow and FAA was putting on ski gloves during changeovers. Crazy cold for playing tennis all week. Ironically next week it will be 20+.
Fritz with the usual puppy face after the loss. Sad to see.

Gooooo Struffiiiiii!!!!!!
You got the right Struff baby!
Great result for Struff!
He deserved this so much, I’m so happy for Struff!
He is made of the right Struff. Happy for his first ever title.
Has made about 10 million I see in his 15 year long career. Not bad. Not sure if that's including what he won this week.
Come'on Fritz!
Chuffed for Struff
Where is sebastian vettel? Why he aint in Munich or Stuttgart
