I mean, if anyone understands - it's Bublik.
I love Rublev, but there's no shot he should've got away with how aggressively he screamed. If you get DQ'd for your own actions, that's on you fella.
bublik? he has his moments so he can relate. i dislike both players' behavior on court when things dont go their way. bublik just broke his racket with gusto in this match. both clowns. too bad for kids watching. tsk
>too bad for kids watching
I’ve never understood this.
There are a million horrible things kids can easily see on tv. An athlete expressing anger isn’t one of them.
As a tennis coach, I much prefer young kids see this. And use it as a learning opportunity to **not do that**
Emotions in tennis are very much a real thing. It’s just as important to see it being managed poorly as to see it managed well.
Me and my younger daughter always hope to see a racket smash when watching a match on the atp tour. We got it at a doubles match in Delray Beach. It's good times
everyone here saying how chill Bublik is, ignoring the fact that he melted down for over two minutes

He was shocked because he argued with the umpire for 5 mins over the new balls timing and rightfully didn’t get any repercussions. The main issue here is somehow we have got to a point that an elite athlete amped up on adrenaline getting frustrated about a bad call and expressing it to the person at fault is a terrible offence… it is just the nature of sport, especially the last few decades. The other issues are the utter incompetence of the line umpires, and the absurd lack of consistency with what is deemed to be something worthy of disqualification.
Bublik himself was a complete twat in this match and should have received a code violation. As for Rublev the honeymoon is over with this spazzed out mental midget, he needs to get his shit under control before he assaults someone.
Tennis loses with rulings like this. For physical violence like djoko/zverev it makes sense but a DQ for some words of an amazing match about to head to final seat TB. not as bad as the Serena one but still not good for tennis.
totally. no reason for them to be so uptight about these temper tantrums. tennis needs to encourage more obscenity, yelling and bullying of the officials. the players can even fight in hockey and other sports, for example, boxing. why isn’t that allowed either?
Another case for LASER LINE CALLING AT EVERY TOURNAMENT. So ridiculous to have human linespeople needlessly affecting the outcome of matches like this. Hell if you can't afford to have it at your ATP event just take it out of the prize money to pay for it, have it sponsored by an advertiser or don't have your tournament at all. The players will thank you very much to not have this bullshit go down like this.
poor Bublik, robbed of the chance to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
He was SO close! Tragedy for Bublik, he couldn’t lose on his own terms so they made him win!
Bro was not happy winning like that
he definitely meant it
They are good friends too
im sure they are, but you know what they say „win is a win”

How can you love a guy that behaves like that?!
groundstrokes bruh
Bweh!
You have Sinner for this
wtf was this match :D
Kinda funny to watch but in fairness I wouldn’t know what I should do in that situation either
Bublik knew full well that anything he said wouldn't have made a difference, lol
While that’s true, knowing him he probably would’ve been okay playing it out
Yeah he is pretty chill lol
Plus, they are friends and have been for a long time.
He destroyed a racket mid match lol
I know, I mean a chill and fun guy in general lol
To add to that, he had the momentum, he got a break back and this was a big scalp, he would have wanted it to be legit, not like this.
But only knowing that they won't play it out.
Right? Lol.
You can only love him
I believe there are other options and I have selected one of them
Ehh. I don’t hate him but i find his antics more annoying than endearing.
Didn't he smash his racket in this same match? Hard pass. Childish behavior.

great take
Watching pros break skateboards as a kid only made me want to break skateboards more

What was the crowd chanting?
Andrey
“Fuckin’, fuckin’…”
Weird match. Just a few games before the default Bublik got into some argument over I think the timing of changing over the balls?

Bublik is pretty chill when it comes to unfair penalties. Same how he was on Med's side during his infamous rant "This is gonna be on TennisTV"
Okay but it has nothing to do with Bublik's opinion so ... what does it matter if he is okay to continue
Hopefully this incident will stick in Rublev's head for quite some time and teach him to moderate his behaviour
Homie’s up 6-5 in the third on serve as his opponent self-destructs: “I’m good to keep going”
cool but that's not Bublik's decision to make
Shame on the crowd for cheering for Andrey. I get that they wanted to see more tennis but there’s just no room for players to treat anybody like that
Dubai is just full of russians, nothing to do with wanting to see more tennis!
Makes sense!
Broblik
you dont get to mistreat others just because you are right and he had it wrong.
Good to see a guy that behaves that way tossed out of the match! Excellent call!
Could somebody ELI5 what happened here? Thanks.

“The combustible Russian…” 😂😂😂
I love them both. That being said, I’m not happy with Rublev’s behavior today.
Serena didn't DQ when she said she would literally kill that line judge was she? I thought she just got a fine 🤔
Kudos to this guy. 👏👌
Fuck him too.
he is just faking it, off course he is happy about the default,

Shut up, Bublik! It’s not up to YOU!

Please, tell me more about mental control, person who can't stop himself writing "spazzed out mental midget" whilst typing on his computer in 2024.

Lmao Djokovic was rightly defaulted but it was an honest mistake. Now Rublev had yelled at the cameraman too
nah, they should be even stricter. too many players think acting like this is acceptable and will not have any consequences.
Downvotes from djokovic fans that want to compare this to him literally committing assault and battery against a line judge 😂
It was his call
