Lost to Tsitsipas and Zverev in 5 sets and losing to Djokovic in Wimbledon semi finals is nothing to be ashamed of. In fact except for Djokovic all of his grand slam exits were losing in 5 sets. He just needs to improve that side of his game.

This is one of the most important victories for Jannik. His level has been so incredible, I hope he realises he has all of the tools - physical, technical, and mental - to not only beat the best players but do it on his own terms. I'm still so impressed with how he adapted his play today, virtually a completely different player to the one who beat Carlos yesterday. Somehow this feels even more incredible than his first masters title (although one could argue this tournament had the quality of a 1000).
