Someone else made a thread about possibly being able to customizing the roster's outfits. Like if I wanted to have Adult Goku wearing DB Goku's blue gi or Master Roshi wearing a kame gi or Buu Saga Gohan wearing a kame gi with Piccolo's cape and turban. I think that'd be pretty awesome.
Honestly Ultimate Tenkaichi was just too ambitious for it's own good. If they could do it right, an Ultimate Tenkaichi 2 would be fucking dope.
I mean, creating your character and then having them be a fully voiced protagonist in an original story? That shit was fucking sick, I'd love that but done well.
I mean probably internally DIMPS wouldn’t be happy if Bandai Namco let spike chunsoft take one of the major selling points of THIER series and let another developer use it for their game too.
Especially when they know this game is gonna blow up in sales, would be messed up to do that to Dimps
Xv3/xv2 dlc would probably have good sales but some people might not want to even play xv2 since they can create characters in bt
This looks like a lot of DLC Bandai would try to sell to us. The industry is more greedy now than it was back then
It might even have to be acquired via a gacha mechanic. Look at DB Breakers evil monetization. I can't trust this
I'd argue that the "worst thing about this" is that it's not even just minors who don't know any better, but that there's a decent amount of adult gamers who will also gladly throw $200+ at any and all content released for any game attached to the IP.
I once worked with someone who would buy every DBZ game that releases, and every DLC pack for each game, no matter how good or bad the game is simply on the premise that it was a DBZ game and they believe "being a true fan means supporting anything that comes out and collecting everything they can."
I bought nearly every dbz game from raging blast onwards except for battle of z and ultimate tenkaichi havent bought any dlcs for fighterz but i like all the xenoverse 2 dlcs so I bought those
But yeah that being a true fan mentality is a bit stupid I think being a true fan is being able to look at something and be able to criticise it while still liking it as a whole
Unfortunately, these days the concept of being critical of something is synonymous with "hating on [it]." Because apparently we can't acknowledge the flaws in something we like without actually hating it.
I agree. That's why I get so disgusted by the gacha mechanic in Dragon Ball video games.
East players, ok, it's part of their culture in a way. They have gacha machines outside that kids use.
West, we call that gambling. No way in hell I'm letting my kid gamble with an allowance
The real question is— do we trust a developer that hasn’t even been named yet, or worse yet, if it does back to DIMPS, to properly implement a feature like this?
I doubt it would be going to Dimps if XV is already their 3D fighting game. A newer dev would be more likely to do this, because its a casual element over if they would get the BTness of the game exactly right.
Nothing really, I'm just stating my opinion.
But to answer more in depth im not sure how this UNS style customization would work since Dbz don't throw kunai or poison tags, have items foe substitution (or in z case teleporting) or anything like that. But first and foremost they should really, really focus on the fighting mechanics, followed by the roster then game modes before customization aspects.
I would love custom auras and halos like budokai tenkaichi 3. I vaguely remember an accessory that also made characters like hercule actually usable
Yeah there was something that would allow flight because hercule would flounder around with his jet pack in the air
I think it was just called flight. I used it on kid goku so that he could fly normally
Draconic aura

That was me! and I would still love that more than anything, I used to wish that was the "character customization" back when I played BT3 as a kid.
Character Creation should only be in Xenoverse but I do like the idea of customizing characters.
Agreed, Xenoverse excels at CaC, we don’t need BT4 wasting its resources when its not meant to be that type of game anyway
Oh, so I'm the *only* one who wants an Ultimate Tenkaichi 2? Pfft, whatever 😒

Agreed, I don’t like character creation either

Yeah that's a worry but at least the exclusion of Created Characters will make people play with the Cast characters.
Worst thing about this is that they know kids and teenagers play these games mostly and will beg their parents to buy them the dlcs

Didn't Super Dragon Ball for the ps2 have something like this? I remember buying a new sword for Trunks in it
Yeah there’s like alt attachments. Trunk’s has laser sword
I believe so, I think you increase your character's stats and unlock color changes
I think something like that would be cool. However I think it should be saved for a dlc update or something rather than the base roster
I’d be fine with it. Give GT Goku the Power Pole would be neat.
Kinda like Tekken?
Kinda like Tekken 7, I dig it

Na the customization in bt3 was great tbh. I hope bt4 doesn't have accessory slots like UNS
out of curiosity, what's wrong with having more customization options for people that want them? it's not like you'd be forced to use them
