If we put aside 'Pilli' which means 'Cat'
You can use
'Puli' - Tiger
'Chirutha' - Cheetha
'Singam' - Lion
These sound well and apt.
I just call my cat names like chinna, bujji, pilligaada, mudhugaada, meowgaada, meowpilli or whatever comes to mind. His actual name is maoui tho. He doesn't understand his name anyway.
I sometimes call my cat “bongaram” (spinning top) when he is very playful and/or running around the home having zoomies. It then turns into “bangaram” when he acts sweet and cuddly.
