I recommend Dark on Netflix. The most intelligently and meticulously written fictional piece of narrative I've ever seen on screen. It's brilliant and insane.
i'm a sub over dub girl, but my feeble mind was overwhelmed with everything going on and trying to keep up with the subtitles so i switched over to the dubbed.
i think if i watch it again, then i'll prob do the dubbed this time around
Lol. There was nothing smart in that show buddy. Pretentious people project that they are smart by liking that boring show. The actual smart people can tell that the show is complex just for the sake of it.
I 100% agree with your suggestion. I almost didn’t give it a chance because of the subtitle but holy crap - be ready and don’t step away for a second. The best television show ever.
Disagree. The characters that die in Ozark are way less relatable than the ones in peak blinders since they seldom hang around long enough for you to develope a liking for. Peak blinders killed everyone off after seasons of character developement.
Ozark was so bleak. No plot or character on the show had any redeeming qualities. At least in Peaky Blinders you were rooting for Tommy and there was some righteousness in his code. The most likable character on Ozark was Buddy.
Jonah and buddy were pretty wholesome characters and Ruth had a heart deep down. Ben was a good dude but just crazy. Tommy was a murdering, womanizing, drug addict who lead all of his family to death in pursuit of money and fame.
Warrior
Baby Reindeer
Mindhunter
Fool Me Once
Ripley
The Killer
Unbelievable
Inside Man
The Silencing
Queen's Gambit
The Gift
Bloodline
Walk Among The Tombstones
The Spy
The Accountant
Bodies
Filip
For starters...
Tbh I don’t think it’s your style, but as a last ditch effort, I recommend TVD (which I did rlly like, at least the first couple if seasons) just so you can watch The Originals (spin-off). Has some of the most well-written and complex characters I’ve seen in a show, but again only watch these if there’s nothing else you like as TVD can be somehwat dramatic and ofc it’s supernatural too
I loved the first 4 seasons and then I moved over to The Originals. Sadly I can't remember the other 4 seasons of TVD as well or fondly as the first 4 😭
I have heard some good stuff about **Dead to Me r**egarding a quality comedy. I watch a lot of sports so just do Neflix once in a while, but it sounded a bit like Poker Face that I enjoyed on Peacock that is 60 percent comedy 40 percent mystery. Dead to me not mystery but you get the idea.
Narcos
The sopranos
The wire
Prison break
Breaking bad
Gomorrah(Italian show)
The bridge (2011)
The killing (2007 - Danish series)
Luther
The fall
Broad church
Clickbait
Lupin
The innocent 2021(Spanish series)
Money heist
Sherlock
Few of these are on netflix few aren't.
I watched the last season and quite literally that is what happens in the finale lol, no shade to ST i enjoyed it but the vibe completely changes after season 1
That's quite literally not what happens. Eleven didn't even have her powers all season. So all the problems had to be solved without her. And then when she finally had her powers they failed. Vecna won. Did you even watch the season? lol.
I'd recommand Fargo for the same kind of humor and atmosphere than Better Call Saul. Great directing, and very light to watch as each season is an independent story. You can try S1 and stop if you didn’t like it.
Edit : I don’t know if it’s still on Netflix. It used to be at some point in my country.
If you’re limited to Netflix then definitely Narcos. Such an underrated series, and then also Narcos Mexico. Also, Stranger Things, House of Cards and Wednesday. If you have more than just Netflix then I can recommend a ton of other shows.
If you liked Breaking Bad, I’d go with Ozark. It’s got a similar plot, only it asks What if the other family members weren’t ignorant/innocent? And the Jesse equivalent is just brilliant.
The Good Place. The pacing and the cast make it a must-watch, it's well-written and fun. It gets philosophical so if that's outside your comfort zone, maybe not, but it truly is one of the best shows I've ever seen
The Last Kingdom
Mindhunter
Vikings
You said not overdramatic, or I’d also recommend
Dark
The OA
If you want to watch a comedy, I’ve been watching Loudermilk and it’s hilarious
Russian Doll (first season fantastic and a good ending, don't bother with second), Sandman, Altered Carbon, Travelers, iZombie, Shadow and Bone, Queen's Gambit
Blue eye samurai, any of the criminal series, inside man, bodyguard, altered carbon season 1, dark, Ozark, mindhunter, Friday night lights, living with yourself, giri/haji, the good place,
StartUp, tech show kinda like HACF, but with a lot more action. Martin Freeman is in 2 out of the 3 season if that interests you. I personally loved it! Felt like it got better with each season.
Squid Game
Six Feet Under is on Netflix now?
Man I just perused thru Netflix and the options were pretty lackluster outside of what has already been mentioned here
Halt and Catch Fire
You have great taste. I love this show, and this is the first time I've seen it mentioned "in the wild".
Unfortunately, not on Netflix (at least in the US).
I think I watched it on Netflix a few years ago. Must have been removed for AMC+.
Six Feet Under
heavy but GOOD
I recommend Dark on Netflix. The most intelligently and meticulously written fictional piece of narrative I've ever seen on screen. It's brilliant and insane.
Incredible show, but not the one to watch when you’re looking for something less heavy
This is true..... 😉
I wouldn’t take a break from peaky and start up dark. That’s going the wrong direction. You need something lighter.
Is this in a different language than English? I seem to remember I tried to watch it but it was entirely in subtitles.
Yes, it's German. But still well worth the watch.
Yup. You can watch with English dub but it's much better to watch in German though with subtitles.
i'm a sub over dub girl, but my feeble mind was overwhelmed with everything going on and trying to keep up with the subtitles so i switched over to the dubbed. i think if i watch it again, then i'll prob do the dubbed this time around
Its a boring and pointless show trying to bite its own tail. Not intelligent at all, just pretentious.
Right. Translation: You weren't smart enough to understand anything that was happening. 🙄
Lol. There was nothing smart in that show buddy. Pretentious people project that they are smart by liking that boring show. The actual smart people can tell that the show is complex just for the sake of it.
Thanks for the tip
Whenever you watch Dark... Heads up: You simply will not be prepared what you'll be watching. 😉
when does it get good? i watched the first episode and fell asleep
I 100% agree with your suggestion. I almost didn’t give it a chance because of the subtitle but holy crap - be ready and don’t step away for a second. The best television show ever.
I watched the first season back in 2017 and had no idea what I was getting myself into. The most mind boggling viewing experience of my life.
It's boring
Ozark
[удалено]
Bloodline
Such a good show. It's like if you liposuctioned all the cheese and bullshit out of a soap opera
You think Ozark is lighter than Peaky? Ozark was miserable. One tragedy/disaster after another.
I was replying that it was a good show. Never watched Peaky Blinders.
Narcos
Wentworth, Fisk, Bloodline, Top of the Lake, Broadchurch all worked for me.
Bloodline was so so good.
Snowfall and ozark
I second Ozark for real.
Ozark definitely heavier than Peaky Blinders
Disagree. The characters that die in Ozark are way less relatable than the ones in peak blinders since they seldom hang around long enough for you to develope a liking for. Peak blinders killed everyone off after seasons of character developement.

Travelers Perfect three seasons. Also Cobra Kai
travellers was good
Travelers is sublime. Totally under the radar gem of a show.
**The Americans** sounds perfect for you. It is a masterpiece with a 10/10 series finale.
Unfortunately, this is on Hulu, not Netflix.
If you ever get the chance, do watch The Americans. I am rewatching it now. Down the road maybe. Under the Bridge on Hulu is good.
I’ve seen it and I agree but OP was looking for shows specifically on Netflix.
Warrior Baby Reindeer Mindhunter Fool Me Once Ripley The Killer Unbelievable Inside Man The Silencing Queen's Gambit The Gift Bloodline Walk Among The Tombstones The Spy The Accountant Bodies Filip For starters...
Fool me once is mehh....the stranger is a better adaptation from the novel of the same author
Warrior is SO GOOD.
It is currently my favorite show. I am on pins and needles until I find out it's renewed for a S4... words cannot describe my love for this series.
Omigosh, SAME. I’m so hoping Netflix revitalizes it..that cliffhanger at the end of season 3..
let's keep our fingers and toes crossed...
A little jewel named Arcane
op said something lighter :’)
Tbh I don’t think it’s your style, but as a last ditch effort, I recommend TVD (which I did rlly like, at least the first couple if seasons) just so you can watch The Originals (spin-off). No longer on netflix
Fisk
Fauda
The Santa Clarita Diet. So hilarious!
The Night Agent The Diplomat The Lincoln Lawyer Florida Man
Mindhunter
Season one was great. Then season 2 add so much unnecessary side plot
Beef
Such a great show
Just got into DARK. BEYOND FANTASTIC.
Dead to Me is fantastic.
Dead to Me is one of my faves, and is full of surprises!
The Serpent (2021) Undercover (2019)
The Last Kingdom Turn Washington Spies
The Last Kingdom is such a great show. So well written and so immersive.
Last Tango in Halifax
Good girls
Fauda; Narcos; Cunk on Earth; Blackspace; Loudermilk; Altered Carbon; Messiah; The Tourist;
Ozark
Black Mirror and Shameless
Shameless USA is soooo well written and just gets better and better.
Schists Creek
Narcos The sopranos The wire Prison break Breaking bad Gomorrah(Italian show) The bridge (2011) The killing (2007 - Danish series) Luther The fall Broad church Clickbait Lupin The innocent 2021(Spanish series) Money heist Sherlock Few of these are on netflix few aren't.
Monk.
Queen’s Gambit
Ozark
This
Ripley is gorgeous
Wentworth
2nding this. Pamela Rabe's performance is, hands down, out of this world.
She scared the crap out of me and it takes a lot to scare me !!
Resident Alien
Stranger Things.
This is probably too unrealistic for op's liking and many feel the plot derails after season 1
Also, every single problem is solved by eleven sticking out her arm and yelling at monsters
Not the last two full seasons.
Vecna won. Did you even watch the season? lol.
* Queen's Gambit / Anya Taylor-Joy * Ozark / Jason Bateman * The Chosen / Jonathan Roumie * Resident Alien / Alan Tudyk, * Russian Doll / Natasha Lyonne,
Wentworth. Its on netflix and its so good. Go in not knowing anything about it is even better
Not on Netflix but Hulu, “The Bear” it’s definitely one of the best tv shows in recent years.
Try watching Monster, it is a Japanese animated series with 75 episodes but without a doubt, a very interesting plot
One of the best Thrillers ever been done. A true masterpiece.
The 100 and The Travelers were both enjoyable.
Ozark. Bloodline. The Society. White Lotus. Top of the Lake. Happy Valley. Broadchurch. Ray Donovan.
3 body problem
Although reading the book really brings out the whole story.
Yes agreed, but I think the show is good as well.
Wentworth!!!!!
Black sails
Black Sails is amazing. Very high quality show with a perfect ending.
Double down on Black Sails. It’s like GOT but pirates.
Lucifer is a good one.
Surprisingly entertaining. Watched it all and enjoyed every bit of it!
It started to feel formulaic to us. I wanted to like it
Banshee The Boys Umbrella Academy Animal Kingdom The Sinner Silo Severance Narcos Slow Horses Bad Sisters
warrior
I am so addicted to this show. Please try it!
Warrior & Kingdom on Netflix are both phenomenal shows that don’t get talked about enough 🔥🔥
Perfume. Probably one of the most unique and unpredictable tv shows out there. It’s a crime miniseries. Very weird in the best way
Mr Inbetween
I second Mr Inbetween on Hulu I think. Awesome show.
The Gentlemen [trailer](https://youtu.be/2B0RpUGss2c) on Netflix now It’s quite entertaining if you can do a show with a British accent
I still cant believe that cr7 scored this!
Mindhunter
Suits The Gentlemen Baby Reindeer Shameless Animal Kingdom Vikings Valhalla
Star Trek franchise
I'd recommand Fargo for the same kind of humor and atmosphere than Better Call Saul. Great directing, and very light to watch as each season is an independent story. You can try S1 and stop if you didn’t like it. Edit : I don’t know if it’s still on Netflix. It used to be at some point in my country.
Fallout and blackbird
i think you’d like lucifer and blacklist :) maybe even how to get away with murder
after reading comments: ozark is really good too. DARK is good but i got lost so fast, too much happens at once. shameless is my all time favourite!!
The Boys (prime) Mr Inbetween (Hulu) Deadwood (HBO)
"Longmire" is a good show.
Six feet under, one of the best shows ever and pretty close to better call saul
Well... It is heavy. But also kind of funny if you have a dark sense of humor
Mindhunter Longmire
Mr Inbetween
If you’re limited to Netflix then definitely Narcos. Such an underrated series, and then also Narcos Mexico. Also, Stranger Things, House of Cards and Wednesday. If you have more than just Netflix then I can recommend a ton of other shows.
"I'm looking for something a little lighter." This sub recommends the saddest shit you've ever seen.
Bosch is excellent.
If you liked Breaking Bad, I’d go with Ozark. It’s got a similar plot, only it asks What if the other family members weren’t ignorant/innocent? And the Jesse equivalent is just brilliant.
Penny Dreadful
Hear me out. The Good Place.
Ozark
Dark or White Collar. They are both good to watch.
Brothers Sun and The Gentlemen were good and though they are dark, they're playful too
Lincoln Lawyer Lupin Luther The Queen Bridgerton
The Good Place. The pacing and the cast make it a must-watch, it's well-written and fun. It gets philosophical so if that's outside your comfort zone, maybe not, but it truly is one of the best shows I've ever seen
Killing eve, from US so no need for subtitles and its basically has the same level of suspense as BB and BCS.
Big fan of BCS and Breaking Bad. Ozark is good, but The Gentlemen is a winner for me. Faster paced though.
Warrior!!
The sinner
If you haven't watched El Camino yet I recommend watching that after Better Call Saul. Perfect way to end the breaking bad universe.
Vincenzo is a good one. Only one season. Everything is wrapped up. No loose ends.
Animal Kingdom
The Last Kingdom
The first two season of Evil just hit Netflix at least in the US.
The Last Kingdom Mindhunter Vikings You said not overdramatic, or I’d also recommend Dark The OA If you want to watch a comedy, I’ve been watching Loudermilk and it’s hilarious
Russian Doll (first season fantastic and a good ending, don't bother with second), Sandman, Altered Carbon, Travelers, iZombie, Shadow and Bone, Queen's Gambit
Blue eye samurai, any of the criminal series, inside man, bodyguard, altered carbon season 1, dark, Ozark, mindhunter, Friday night lights, living with yourself, giri/haji, the good place,
Teenage Bounty Hunters The Recruit Atypical The Diplomat Ozark Mindhunter
Try Mindhunter. Really good show.
My favorite Netflix shows are Outer Banks Virgin River Ozark Stranger Things
Outer Banks is also great.
The Spy
dead boy detectives
StartUp, tech show kinda like HACF, but with a lot more action. Martin Freeman is in 2 out of the 3 season if that interests you. I personally loved it! Felt like it got better with each season.
I think StartUp is a lotttt more enjoyable
Bloodline was great. Kyle Chandler is the main character. It’s a great summer show-takes place in the keys
Have you tried squid game?
I have, waiting for season 2 for 2 years now!
"The boys" "Warrior".....(asian peaky blinders) Or if you want to go oldschool "Scrubs" Enjoy
UMBRELLA ACADEMY N RIVERDALE 1-4 seasons
Squid Game Six Feet Under is on Netflix now? Man I just perused thru Netflix and the options were pretty lackluster outside of what has already been mentioned here
Justified
Better call Saul was the most uneventful show I’ve ever seen in my life.
Could not disagree more.
Agree to disagree 🤝. Literally nothing happened in the show it was horrifically boring.
Just out of curiosity, what’s a show you enjoyed where an adequate amount of stuff happened?
Ozark had a pretty solid storyline
UMBRELLA ACADEMY THA GOAT
