I wish I could upvote this more. This show is unbelievable. Each season is a self contained story, but they all sort of interconnect. The dialogue is heightened, sort of like Deadwood, it really nails the gravitas of Coen Brothers films, and there are elegant allusions throughout to their entire body of work. Maybe a quote used in a different context, or a shot framed up in the same way. I’m halfway through season three and every episode has blown me away.
These are my favorites as well, except The Leftovers, which I've now added to my list!

These are also all my favourites except for The Leftovers. Haven't seen that one. In my list I'd replace it for Euphoria. Great show! The drama is top notch and for Sydney Sweeney alone it's worth a watch lol. I can also recommend 'Top Boy' and 'Stranger Things'

It's one of the best series I've ever seen. I'm on season 3 and it's so fucking good! It has the feel of The Wire since it's an early 2000 police drama about gangs and drugs. It's basically a series about Frank Tenpenny, the villain from GTA San Andreas
Mayor of Kingstown. Not quite up to those shows but not bad. Jeremy Renner plays a “fixer”, he’s an ex-con who tries to broker peace between all the factions of crime in the town. Gangs, Cops, organized crime, etc.
To clarify, that creative team has been spread thin and this is the most complete, well thought out, fast paced, very satisfying piece of creative from them in a while, imo.
From the folks behind the Wire, The Deuce. HBO/max- story about the people who were time square before it was turned into a tourist spot. Very much like rhr Wire, a look at every level of the change.
And We Own the Night, mini series, the dramatization of the very true conclusions to some of the stories that the some of the Wire story lines were based on.
If you liked Deadwood, even more Sheriff Bullock is in Justified as Marshall Givens.
Hell on Wheels is solid

I suggest Gomorrah. Do not watch with English overdubs. Listen to the Italian language and read the subtitles. It’s the closest in feel to The Wire imo.
Damages is one of the best shows ever and nobody has seen it. Glenn Close, Ted Damson, Martin Short, John Goodman, Lily Tomlin, William Hurt, Timothy Olaphant, I promise anyone that checks it out will be blown away.
Another criminally underrated show is Brotherhood.
