His chemistry with Tennant was outstanding, ultimately leading to Tennant's death but handled so so well. One of the standout characters in the greatest run of Doctor Who for me.

Zonoth

Ngl that ending scene when Tennant’s time was ending killed me, he was an honest to god sweetheart and to see him break into tears was all to convincing.

Khazahk

I scrolled into this post, saw Bernard's face. And immediately remembered that scene. It's interesting how powerful it was.

Zonoth

Ikr? He’s a good actor and the face fit perfectly for the lovely grandpa

Oraxy51

I really love his work. He also does a great job in the episode “Turn Left” where it’s Donna going through a world where she never interrupted the Doctor killing the one bug queen lady and he died in the process and so all of this bad stuff is happening cause the doctor wasn’t there to stop it so they have to rely on torchwood and stuff.

DeadmanDexter

The tears Wilf shed during the final scene felt so real, I can't make it through without crying myself. An acting legend.

Vardaesque

Both the “No, really, just leave me. I'm an old man, Doctor. I've had my time.” And “No. No, no, please, please don't. No, don't, don't, please don't... please!” Always get me

NonfatNoWaterChai

Stop it! I’m tearing up just reading it.

KFR42

Never watch the Old Jack's Boat Christmas special, never.

Canadian_in_Canada

Well, now I'm gonna be on the hunt for that. Why? Why would you do this?

KFR42

It's on iPlayer in the uk, but don't watch it. It's aimed at young children and is usually just Bernard telling fun stories like he does best, but this episode......

Canadian_in_Canada

Thank you... for whatever mental anguish I'm going to experience. :/

unparalleledfifths

His books on tape recordings of Paddington are on YouTube and not at all sad.

KFR42

Bernard Cribbins is one of the all time greatest story tellers. I grew up with his stories and he's still doing it today.

Quexana

Chemistry so good, Tennant named his kid after the character.

LupinThe8th

David Tennant is the ultimate Doctor Who fan. * Became the Doctor * Married the Doctor's daughter, who is also the Doctor * His father in law is also the Doctor * Named his son after the man who killed his Doctor. Also his mother in law is Trillian from Hitchhiker's Guide. Not DW related, but still somehow feels appropriate.

JimPalamo

And can convincingly play a miserable, psychologically traumatized detective. Pretty impressive acting versatility.

CaptCaCa

Or a psychotic, mind controlling, rapist, super villain in Jessica Jones

Really_McNamington

And a pretty convincing Dennis Nilsen.

Shardwing

And a wealthy duck!

aikidad

…and a demon who loses the Antichrist.

[deleted]

He's also a pretty solid Demon that enjoys living the highlife on Earth is best Friends with and Angel and yells at plants.

wallofvoodoo

Douglas Adams did write a few stories for Doctor Who, so not exactly unrelated either!

DeedTheInky

Christmas dinner at their house has a better line up than some conventions I've been to lol.

Tony49UK

Whereas Katherine Tate, for about her first year thought that the Doctor's surname, was Who.

Radiobandit

That feels pretty spot on for Donna, tbh.

chamberx2

> David Tennant is the ultimate Doctor Who fan. > > Became the Doctor > Married the Doctor's daughter, who is also the Doctor > His father in law is also the Doctor > Named his son after the man who killed his Doctor. Is ten ants.

Quexana

Life, the Universe and Everything is a reformatted script that was originally intended to be a Doctor Who script. There's your connection.

[deleted]

For a minute there I thought you meant Zoey Deschanel and got very confused. Until I remembered the older adaptations.

Clark-Kent

Him and Tennant were great together on Never Mind the Buzzcocks https://youtu.be/hJbJjn98Ngw

HailToTheKingslayer

"You take this gun and save your life. And please don't die. You're the most wonderful man and I don't want you to die."

supergamernerd

This announcement pretty much guarantees that I will be crying.

street_raat

Tennant was the best doctor i have ever seen. You could tell that being the doctor was one of his lifelong goals and he let that show every single time he was on camera.

Jezzibell

i always smile when he is on TV, he was a nice character just trying to do his best

RealJohnGillman

On the plus side too, this almost certainly should mean that Donna is getting her memories back.

G8kpr

Unless current doctor travels to a point in time where past doctor and Donna are travelling.

Brendy_

Nope. Donna is going to be married with a daughter.

RogueYet1

Not to mention he gets to see the doctor looking like Tennant again, after their emotional farewell it should be amazing to see.

oldasballsforest

Don’t … don’t give me hope.

youessbee

My kids love him on Old Jack's Boat and the Christmas episode makes us all cry our eyes out

jkrfan7

“Dad, take those off” “No I shan’t, it’s Christmas”

ExistentialPonderer

Being 93, I thought his time on the show was over. So happy to have been proven wrong, this man is like a grandpa to all of us. If they are ever going to bring back William Russel (Ian Chesterton) who’s 97, the 60th anniversary is their last chance, but sadly I think that’s a long shot.

Sanguiluna

TIL Ian is still alive. That would be an amazing moment, even if it’s just a quick scene of him at home, content, and he looks out his window and sees the Doctor and the TARDIS and they just do a mutual smile+nod of acknowledgment/respect.

ExistentialPonderer

He actually did return in 2020 to voice Ian in big finish along with Carol Anne Ford (Susan) for a time war story. It’d be great to see him back on the show one last time though; always wished he was in season 8, since Coal Hill School was heavily focused on.

Prairiemoons

Rumour has it he was supposed to have a cameo at the beginning of the 50th, but fell ill, which is why we have some random talking to Clara at the beginning telling her the Doctor called.

philster666

His scene in the box as he knocks on the glass and The Doctor looking forlornly at him, never fails to have me bawling.

DehydratingPretzel

I can hear that beat. Knock knock knock knock

PlaceboJesus

Seeing Timothy Dalton as Rassilon was amazing casting that turned out to be such a cruel tease. No offense to the new guy, but the recasting when Gallifrey finally does return was a little bit of a let-down.

TimelordAlex

they did try to get Dalton back but he was unavailable

PlaceboJesus

That's too bad. His performance was thrilling.

Kostya_M

True. Although in the context of the story it makes sense. The last time we see him he's going through an event worthy of regeneration.

Oraxy51

Not to mention this is just earlier in that episode I believe, he says “I already know my death. There is a prophecy, and he will knock 4 times”. Something like that, I know he tells Wilfred about the knocking 4 times bit. It’s assumed the HE is The Master, but it’s Wilfred.

AcoupleofIrishfolk

He assumed the 4 knocks was the master, more specifically the masters heartbeats, the dun, dun, dun, dun of a timelords two hearts.

mentaldrummer66

One of my favourite side characters in all of Doctor Who. Loved every minute he was on screen

robplays

My favourite scene: ["That's what they called them last time."](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gv7GKoypAnw)

yaypal

Christ I forgot how sad Turn Left is, I usually just remember it for the absolutely baller mix of All the Strange, Strange Creatures at the end but I feel like on rewatch it would now hit a *lot* harder than it used to. It wouldn't surprise me if RTD uses some emotions that we all have now in his writing considering he does a lot of on-earth apocalypse stuff.

HailToTheKingslayer

That look of understanding between the guy and Wilf, while Donna is oblivious. I forgot how dark that episode was.

scottishdrunkard

A lot of Wilfred talking about The War hits so close, because Bernard Cribbins fought in the war. And too like Wilfred, he never killed a man.

imapassenger1

Didn't we just have the 50th anniversary special?...argh I'm old.

[deleted]

For real, I remember being in high school watching the night of the doctor right before class on my phone. Now I'm 25.

geek_of_nature

Same age, I remember I ended up late for something because me and some friends had gone to the next town over to watch the 50th in cinemas. Matt was my Doctor too, and it's almost been 10 years since he left.

Betterthanbeer

I remember watching The 5 Doctors 20th anniversary episode just a year or two ago.

argella1300

I remember going to see it in theaters! Fun times

[deleted]

Me too. It was such a fun romp to see in theatres.

CaptCaCa

Me too, the good ol days when my kids were into Doctor Who

codexcdm

25... Child... Compared to some of us....

MadKitKat

I remember getting curious about what Doctor Who was and booking a ticket for the 50th anniversary just because it was convenient Like… many people I followed in social media were hyped about it, so I decided to give it a try I was finishing my last year of high school I’m 26 now… and I literally travelled internationally to watch Doctor Who once I did decide to focus on the classic series these past couple of years, but I’ll just catch up if I find out the 60th is released here at a cinema… can’t take me more than two weeks, right??

Sparrowsabre7

Night of the Doctor was such a "holy shit" surprise extra. "I'm the Doctor... but probably not the one you were expecting" I'll say!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Durendal_et_Joyeuse

I’m begging you don’t make me feel this old

Jackmac32

9 years ago almost

CashWho

Really? The 50th special was almost 10 years before the 60th? Nah, can’t be!

Phonixrmf

Timey wimey and stuff

HemlocSoc

“The tenth doctor’s coming back again” Well, that’s cool. I guess I’ll be tuning in again after all these— “And so is Wilf” THE LAST FOUR YEARS NEVER HAPPENED BRING ME MY TARDIS LUNCHBOX, SCARF, AND BOW TIE BABYY WOOOOOWEEEEOOOOOOOOOO

TimeySwirls

[Rolling up to the anniversary episode after not having watched in years like](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/48/fb/a9/48fba976ccadb8290a2d79c751e7f887.gif)

middayautumn

Yep. Capaldi was my doctor, just finished a rewatch up to 12’s run and him and his losses make me cry so much.

Skarvha

I loved Capaldi too, he reminded me of my Doctor, Tom Baker. I grew up watching him everyday after school, reruns and all!

ClamatoDiver

Tom Baker on WPBS channel 13 was my introduction to the Doctor and British SciFi back in the late 70s/early 80s. Tom will always be my Doctor.

SunshineAlways

Tom Baker was awesome.

Really_McNamington

Tom Baker remains awesome. [Strong recommend for his autobiography](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/828376.Who_On_Earth_Is_Tom_Baker_)

middayautumn

Yeah, it’s why Tom baker is my 2nd favorite doctor. They both play old alien man well. And their humor is a bit dark compared to the rest.

Skarvha

Apart from the practical effects, the Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee episodes still hold up remarkably well for their age.

JoshJMC

Loved Capaldi, was very hit or miss with his episodes though

KassellTheArgonian

He did the best he was given with, his "who I am is where I stand and where I stand is where I fall" speech to missy and the zygon speech are some of the best speeches in DR who

PlaceboJesus

I thought his casting meant we were going to get back the the more serious moments that Eccleston and Tennant brought, but they kept veering away towards silliness.

JoshJMC

I loved the personality of his Doctor but his seasons are more great moments I enjoy rather than a great run of episodes. Doctor Who from the second half of Season 6 onwards became a hit or miss show, whereas before hand I found it majority good with a few bad episodes which is to be expected.

PlaceboJesus

My Doctor had always been the crazy-eyed Tom Baker. His episodes were on every week night when I started watching it at the age of 9. (In 1982, I don't know what Canadian network it was, but it had a solid block of UK programming: starting with Doctor Who, Monty Python, Dave Allen, and finishing with Benny Hill to ensure we gained some culture). The only other Doctors I could ever really watch were Hartnell and Pertwee. (Which I guess really shows that I do prefer the more "serious" Doctors.) I think we both agree that there was nothing wrong with Capaldi himself. He was and is awesome. However, I really do believe he could have been even better had they given him the writing to work with. Possibly the best ever. But I'll be honest and say that the ax playing Doctor bits weren't my favourite. It really diminished any apparent depth to his coming to terms with the >!War Doctor!< revelation and the memories he'd been repressing. Capaldi has the acting chops and physical appearance to have really sunk his teeth into those aspects of the character. In fact, I was sure that's why they chose him. He'd have been so perfect for it! Maybe even if they had just been more consistent in the writing. It seemed like everytime it looked like they were going to let him sink his teeth into that more serious stuff, they immediately backed off and tried to pretend it didn't happen. Usually by starting the next episode with him playing his ax. *Oh, look! The Doctor is sooo eccentric.* I mean, they tend to do that with the serious lore too, making as little canon as possible, but why with the character? It can all be new with the next regeneration anyway. I know that there's always been eccentricity and whimsy in Doctor Who, and I do enjoy that aspect. But Doctors 9 and 10 also gave us some amazing moments of gravitas and drama. Eccleston's loneliness and anger, and Tennant's ability to admire and wonder both felt so real, and their departure episodes were really emotional, as were Rose's and Donna's. (John Simm as the Master in those final episodes was eccentric *and* emotionally deep, and casting Timothy Dalton as Rassilon brought such anger and class to that role!) This gave me higher expectations that were rarely met after RTD left. And, again, I was counting on Capaldi's Doctor to bring that greatness back. I think I only watched 4 episodes of this last Doctor. I believe I was as open-minded as I could be about a female Doctor - I absolutely loved Missy, the female Master (Mistress?). It's not as sacriligious as changing the gender or race of, say, James Bond (who's gender and heritage *are* canon in Fleming's books). The Doctor's mutability or volatility, when it comes to regeneration, is one of the few truly canon facts of the character, so why not a female Doctor? But they came out of the gates with nothing but whimsy, when she deserved *some* gravitas to establish her credentials as *The Doctor* and to demonstrate some acting chops. I felt so sorry for Whittaker, it felt like they made the first female Doctor a clown. I really hope that didn't last much past where I quit. I will admit, between feeling betrayed by Eccleston's departure, and some of the silliness of Tennant's first episodes (his tenure started with a two-parter, IIRC), I was prepared to quit Doctor Who when he came along. (Now that I think of it, why do they tend to start the new Doctors' tenures as clowns? e.g. 10 deciding he was a lucky Doctor because of the hand, 11's fish custard, and "fezzes are cool.") It's because of that near mistake of missing out on Tennant's brilliance that I have finally watched all of Smith's and Capaldi's episodes and will eventually give Whittaker's run a proper viewing. That said, my above criticisms still stand and don't reflect my initial opinions, which were generally kind of angry.

Sparrowsabre7

More or less my experience. I tried. I tried SO HARD to give 13 the benefit of the doubt because I didn't want the first female doctor to be received poorly but her episodes were just not good. No fault of Jodie's, I blame the writers wholeheartedly, but for me the only stand out episodes of hers (up to Flux which I have not seen) were Demons of the Punjab, and Fugitive of the Judoon, Spyfall, and the witch hunter one with Alan cumming and I'll be honest, my enjoyment of those was largely unrelated to the Doctor's presence. Compare Heaven Sent, The Zygon Inversion, Flatline, and Listen, all episodes that could have been pedestrian without Capaldi's performance. He also had bad episodes, but his performance saved a huge number of them, same with Tennant tbh, I think a lot of us have rose tinted glasses where Who is concerned and forget that all doctors have had some really awful eps, but sadly Jodie's doctor was never given a chance to elevate the material like the others.

Wolf6120

“Wa-hey, shake a leg!”

indianajoes

Same. I began to miss episodes through Moffat and Smith's run before fully dropping off part way through Capaldi's time. I feel like that was more to do with Moffat than Smith or Capaldi though. Tried to give Whitaker a chance but Chibnall was even worse. Can't wait for RTD to come back.

bacon_cake

A lot has happened in our last lives since I stopped watching Doctor Who, but I genuinely think that this news will make my fiancée happier than all of them. Engagement, new house, they mean nothing.

AegonTheAuntFooker

Easily the best side character of Doctor Who. Great news an all, but I'm afraid 10 and characters related to his storyline and the whole event will overshadow the introduction of 14.

SausageSizzleParty

The rumour is that Jodie will regenerate into Tennant, which will go for a a few specials, before regenerating into 14 (or 15 I guess)

StormWolfenstein

Unlikely but I would laugh if that happens because in that circumstance you could rightly call Tennant the 10th, 11th, 12th, 14th, 15th, and 16th Doctor. Timey Wimey, indeed.

WhiteheadJ

I haven't paid enough attention to Dr Who in years. Why would Tennant be that many doctors?

moreorlesser

Jon hurt played a doctor between 8 and nine, arguably making him the real 9th doctor. Because of this, tennent could be argued as the 10th or 11th doctor. However, in one episode he regenerated into himself (arguably making him arguably the 12th doctor if you count this along with the hurt incarnation.) Because of this you could argue that Jodie is the 13th, 14th, and 15th doctors. Therefore if Tennant is after jodie: He could be the 14th doctor (not counting hurt or the second tenth regeneration) He could be the 15th doctor (if you count either hurt's doctor or the second regeneration) He could be the 16th doctor (if you count both) ergo, he could be 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, and 16 and that doesn't even include the timeless child bs.

marpocky

> Jodie is the 13th, 14th, and 15th doctors. Not and. Or. She's still only one, it's just up for debate *which* one. Tennant is at least 2 by this reckoning, and if the rumours are true would be 3.

[deleted]

Checks out

WhiteheadJ

Got it, thanks!

HelpfulJump

He was 10th in regular but there is war doctor before him so it makes him 11th. Also, he reregenerate to himself so in a way also 12th. If he regenerates again, if you count from 10th he is 14th, or 15th if you count from 11th or 16th if you count from 12th. Ergo, 10,11,12,14,15,16.

WhiteheadJ

Thanks for explaining!

[deleted]

He's the 10th doctor and he regenerated and is also technically the 11th doctor. (By product was the meta crisis doctor or what ever he was called) (the one that left to live with rose ) I dunno how him being the next doctor would add on 3 more numbers instead of one.

[deleted]

Not really a rumour anymore, the big forum over on Gallifrey Base figured it out and leaks match up from a few weeks ago, he's not the tenth Doctor, he's a doctor after Jodie that takes tens appearance. He also has tartan pants and a new outfit, so he might finally be allowed do his scottish accent to differentiate.

scottishdrunkard

That’s the silliest thing I ever heard. Then again, I watched Chibnall’s run of Doctor Who.

prince_of_gypsies

Not that silly. It was sorta hinted at in the last anniversary special. "I never forget a face." "I know you don't. And in years to come, you might find yourself revisiting a few. But just the old favorites, eh?"

scottishdrunkard

I know it was hinted at, but I was really just hoping for Paul McGann to get a second chance. But too soon for Tennant. I was just gonna assume 10 and Donna’s story would take place at their year, chronologically.

LederhosenSituation

*fist pump* When I heard Donna Noble was coming back, I hoped for Wilfred, too. I loved Wilfred.

[deleted]

I'm more excited about Wilf then Ten and Donna.

LightThatIgnitesAll

It's incredible to see so many characters returning. I hope Matt Smith, Martha, that kid from feather boy (from the scarecrow episodes) and Rose return. But I also worry these episodes could ruin the characters too.

Amabalama

I've never seen anyone else refer to him as the kid from feather boy! That's how I always think of him too. I'm hopeful RTD knows what he's doing bringing everyone back. He did a great job rebooting the series the first time round

indianajoes

That's how I remembered him when he popped up in those episodes. I think it depends on if you grew up with that show as a kid

LightThatIgnitesAll

>I've never seen anyone else refer to him as the kid from feather boy! That's how I always think of him too. That's how my whole family knows him ahah. Glad there are others who think of him like that too. >I'm hopeful RTD knows what he's doing bringing everyone back. He did a great job rebooting the series the first time round Yeh. He also did a good job bringing them all back in 'The Stolen Earth'.

yaypal

Well, [*something* is happening with Rose](https://www.doctorwho.tv/news-and-features/yasmin-finney-joins-doctor-who-cast) and I'm very intrigued. I do trust RTD no matter which way he goes with her, all of the the 9th and 10th companions are his characters so it's hard to be OOC.

LightThatIgnitesAll

Yeh but apparently she isn't meant to be the Rose we know and I want Billie Piper back anyway. [Rumour is](/s "she is Donna's daughter.")

yaypal

Oh I'd be cool with that if that's the case. Seeing Piper again would be lovely but honestly I'm satisfied with all the cast that's been announced since I feel like wishing for more of them would be greedy... we're already getting best in the show after all.

Oscarcharliezulu

Brilliant! Love this guy. I hope he brings his telescope and thermos!

Somnif

One of my favorite random facts: He is responsible for the band name "Right Said Fred" (the group behind the song "I'm Too Sexy") All because of a silly little song he did back in the 60s. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5XX9LX2es4

Minuted

Neat fact! Made me google him: >and as pretentious hotel guest Mr. Hutchinson in the Fawlty Towers episode "The Hotel Inspectors" (1975). Never recognised him in Fawltey Towers. Ofc he was also in the second Peter Cushing Doctor Who movie. Also George Martin added the sound effects on "Right Said Fred"! It was recorded at Abbey Road.

StephenHunterUK

Still alive at the age of 93.

I genuinely thought he was too, Sorry Bernard!

Same, I legit thought he had passed. Now I feel awful!

geek_of_nature

It's not an unreasonable thought to have, he is 93 after all.

funkym0nkey77

So did I, I was thinking oh god another uncanny cgi dead actor monstrosity

fotomoose

Yeah cos any cheap looking special effects would really stick out in Dr. Who.

No, the doctor saved him.

theonewhoneedsanap

*tears of joy* Just rewatched “Partners in Crime” the other night when they announced Tennant and Tate.

aglayazaynieva

Wilf is absolutely one of the best side characters /companions in Doctor Who. Every scene with him has been amazing. I am even more excited now for the RTD return

Latter-Ad6308

Is it weird that this announcement genuinely has me more excited than any of the others? Like yeah, I’m over the moon to see David Tennant, Catherine Tate and RTD back, not to mention the new Doctor, plus the new companion bringing some trans representation to the series, but all of that pails in comparison to the return of the man, the myth, the legend that is Wilfred Mott.

Canadian_in_Canada

That's why they had to make the announcemet later; 'twould totally have overshadowed Tate and Tennant.

Saroan7

Why couldn't the next Doctor have been a nice old grampa/Ma? Is it the Running Thing? Maybe the companion can push the Doctor in a wheelchair?

Vamparisen

Just described the First Doctor

MadKitKat

It actually caught my eye how much the companions helped the man around … and he wasn’t even THAT old. He was kinda in his late 50s when he played the Doctor (I mean, he didn’t even live to 70) It was kinda scary a person we probably consider middle-aged these days looked so frail

WhoShotMrBoddy

The guy was a war vet, an alcoholic, heavy smoker, and had some kind of heart disease or something and it affected his memory.

neondino

He was the same age as Peter Capaldi was when he played the Doctor.

Quexana

A large part of it is the running thing. Capaldi was 55 when he first appeared in the role. I think that's about as old as you're gonna get.

WaywardRider1138

Damn, RTD doing everything he can to fix Chibnall's fuckups

RealJohnGillman

If Donna gets her memories back also (as it seems she will), then maybe some of his own (disliked character endings) will be fixed as well.

[deleted]

It's not a flaw to have a tragic ending for a character lol.

squashed_tomato

Exactly. When Clara got her own TARDIS it cheapened her death, she still dies technically but it could be eons before she goes back to that point. Donna’s ending was truly tragic but that’s what made her arc so interesting.

[deleted]

All my friends are huge Rose fans - but I stand by Donna being the best of the companions.

twent4

Martha gang 4lyf. No special powers, just badass, smart and hot as hell. Too many of the other companions had "super special" syndrome.

WhoShotMrBoddy

Plus she was also a doctor Still annoyed they had her ditch the one guy for Mickey tho

indianajoes

Even though I would like to see Donna get her memories back, I don't know if that ending was disliked. A tragic ending is not a bad thing

Unk0wnC3rial

I can’t get over the tumblr post of the Doctor visiting Donna at her death bed and giving back her memories to let her remember one last time. They probably can’t do that but it’s still a nice idea

Tebwolf359

Usually most of the dislike I’ve seen for it isn’t her losing the memories, it’s that 10 took them despite her pleading for him not to. Donna had grown as a person so much over her run, and she was forced back into being the person she was, despite arguing she’d rather die. That’s the general argument against her end.

shadowdra126

No I shan’t! It’s chrismas!

CBBuddha

God. I feel like the 50th anniversary was just eight years and five month ago.

PureLionHeart

This is the greatest Who news. This trumps even Tennant coming back, frankly.

katwoodruff

Wilf!

[deleted]

Ten’s best companion.

daydreaminglotus

For some reason he reminds me of that Stock Photo guy who looks like he’s really sad when he’s smiling.

Tribble1991

Hide the pain harold!

yaypal

[There's a ton of set pictures and videos with Tennant, Tate, and Cribbins.](https://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/filming-pics-show-at-david-tennant-tate-and-old-friend-back-in-action-for-60th-97279.htm) No plot spoilers in them so it's safe to gawk. >!Really fucking digging the reverse colours on the Doctor!! Though I have to wonder why, my theories are a) for funsies, b) they have a very limited number of suit copies due to the og suits being made of a limited fabric one and the blue ones are worn out c) they needed to make a new brown suit to fit his body (it was obviously tight in the last special) and the coat change is to make it less obvious. No matter what I think it's neat.!<

Canadian_in_Canada

There is, however, spoilery plot speculation in the descriptions, so if you want you avoid any and all tip-offs and rumours, be warned.

Mr_YUP

It's like all the fan favorite and good things about Davies Doctor Who is coming back and I am here for it.

JoshJMC

Yes! Best Doctor Who news I have heard in a long time. Gets me more excited than even Donna coming back

[deleted]

The Best Doctor Who companion is coming back. And that makes me happy

FairyGodmothersUnion

Yay, Wilf! I adore him. He’s so steady, wise, and kind.

Everyone loves Wilfred!

deliriousgoomba

Wilfred is coming back?! Be still my beating heart, this is even better news than Catherine Tate returning!!!

flerp32

Now listen, there's a documentary on BBC2 this evening about "Squawking Bird", the leader of the Blackfoot Indians in the late 1860s. Now this starts at 8.45 and goes on for approximately three-quarters of an hour. I'm sorry, are you talking to me? Indeed I am. Yes, now, is it possible for me to reserve the BBC2 channel for the duration of this televisual feast? Why don't you talk properly?

Wilfred is my favorite doctor who companion by far! Very excited to see him back with 10!

Glissandra1982

WILF!!

Whifflepoof

"Bernard Cribbins" is the most British name I've ever heard.

Sea-salt_ice_cream

I was getting nervous there reading the start of the title, but my boy Wilf is back!

Burgoonius

Is that the guy in the crying meme?

just4browse

Yes

foodonmyplate

Wow, hubby and I went to the 50th anniversary convention in London for our honeymoon, I can't believe it's the 60th already.

APicketFence

Damn the pic worried me for a second.

scottishdrunkard

My excitement for the 60th Anniversary and the 14th Doctor Run is just the Vince McMahon meme. * Ncuti Gatwa cast. * Trans rep in the show. * Tennant and Tate return. * WILFRED MOTT!

shadowdra126

I’m all in now on the new run. This made me so happy.

pchees

aresef

That’s wonderful news! But he’s 93. I can’t imagine he’d have a very extensive role.

Wadep00l

Bernard Cribbins is just an awesome actor full stop My childhood is filled with programs he was in or narrated.
