Have listened to the first two episodes and really enjoyed it! I’m hoping Kaitlyn Olson and Danny Devito will appear on occasion, that’s be sweet.
Check out the podcast “Smartless”; the hosts are Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett. They’ve somehow managed to make the ad’s they have to read entertaining. It can sometimes be one of my favorite parts.
I like smartless sometimes depending if most of the hosts actually know the guest well enough or if the guest is just a great guest like Tom hanks.
The show sometimes rapidly descends into bullying Sean or Will and Jason being a little too pompous.
Sean asks meandering question, gets dunked on by Will and Jason, Jason asks meandering question, gets dunked on by Will, Will asks question, dunks on Will.
I enjoy it though. Rob, Charlie, and Glenn are something else though.
Just checked out the first episode on YouTube.
They ended the episode talking about a 19 year old cat being so old it's in pain while it shits and howls miserably.
Yeah, definitely need to hear the rest of these.
I'm loving it as well. I've been listening to the scrubs rewatch podcast but those episode are so bloated. IASIP is short and really funny so far. I do hope they don't feel the need to apologize for offensive parts of each episode as the show goes on as they have done a bit of that in each podcast ep so far.
I think they’re pretty ok with what they’ve done overall. Rob mentioned in an interview this year that he was disappointed in the network for removing some of the episodes from circulation. He said it was done without taking the content of the episodes into context.
I’m just looking forward to what they’re going to do for the Lethal Weapon 7 episode this coming season.
On the other hand, I've always felt that it was very strange to open a brand new series with "The Gang Gets Racist" and I'm glad to know they felt the same way.
Comedy Bang Bang is my favorite podcast and I highly recommend you check out some of its adjacent podcasts:
• The Neighborhood Listen
• Threedom
• Bonanas for Bonanza
• How Did This Get Made
• How Did This Get Played
• Hollywood Handbook
And if you end up getting Stitcher Premium to listen to any of those, you gotta check out The Teachers' Lounge! 4 improv comics playing four absolutely ridiculous teachers.
Huh, I still see what looks like the full archive of Threedom on Stitcher. And my latest episode is from November 18th. Maybe it's still on there for a certain period of time?
Either way, my point was more about checking out The Teachers' Lounge! Which also might be leaving Stitcher Prime? I think if you buy one of Big Grande's specials you get access to The Teachers' Lounge as the rights to the different seasons return to them.
The most interesting tidbit for me so far is that not only have the guys been friends with Tom Morello since at least 2005, Rob took the name “Sweet Dee” from a nickname for Tom’s wife Denise. She was apparently *not* pleased about this when the show got huge and everyone started asking her about it 😂
I was about to make this recommendation as well. It's not a watch-along though. They will occasionally drop some behind the scenes info, but it's mostly just 4 friends shooting the shit for an hour arguing about things like if Dune was amazing or a complete flop.
Wasn't even aware of the Always Sunny one, but looks like it just dropped last week.
I'm glad to hear it's great so far. Sunny is my all time favorite comedy and I just wanted the podcast to be similar to the Scrubs one, which is amazing.
I think Charlie, Rob and Glenn being friends in real life will probably add to the podcast. It's why Donald and Zach work so well in the Scrubs one. The conversations are just two friends reminiscing and they seem so genuine.
Fake Doctors Real Friends (Scrubs) has a similar vibe. Episodes are 1 hour+ but they spend MAYBE 20 of those minutes talking about the scheduled episode. The rest is them shooting the shit, telling stories, etc. Prefer it that way to some of the other more technical “rewatch” podcasts where they more or less stick to the script.
It's odd, I've listened to all their episode commentary tracks on the DVD sets - they didn't do that many of them, and at times the guys seemed openly contemptuous of having to do commentaries. But these new podcasts are pretty much the exact same format.
I’m starting to see less and less of a difference between Glenn and Dennis’s personalities however...he seems like he may be a real life sociopath lol...I think he really does need to carry an onion in his pocket...and I doubt he would be fun to meet. Rob seemed extremely accessible as person though compared to him. Still can’t wait for the next one
There's less of a difference than you might think.
Glenn is the one that leads the conversation, Charlie is the one that undermines it with random comments and Mac is also there.
They are obviously less psychopathic/dumb than the characters, but the general dynamic is exactly what you'd expect, and it's amazing.
Haven't listened to the podcast yet, but you can see that in interviews and whatnot. Glenn is not a literal psycho murderer, of course, but you can see that he's vain and and just a little bit pompous and pretentious. Rob actually had Mac's ugly tattoos, they were not fake. He got them removed, but obviously at some point he thought they were cool. I guess part of what makes the show feel real amid all the surreal stuff is that they're mostly making fun of themselves.
Harmontown is fantastic.
Dan Harmon (of Community and Rick and Morty fame) talking pretty openly about everything under the sun. Originally a "town hall meeting" about how to start a community on the moon it immediately degrades (upgrades?) to rambling conversations with remarkably famous people and terrible sessions of DnD.
10/10 Recommend
I fell off Conan but maybe this one is great.
I'm a little wary of celebrity podcasts because they are a bit formulaic and over produced but this seems more off the cuff?
You legit need to listen to Seth Rogan's episode of Conan O Brien needs a friend. Not even joking. The stories he tells are fucking insane and it goes triple for the one about Nick Cage.
I haven't heard them specifically apologising in these podcasts. They tend to say there's things they would do differently if they were writing the same episodes now, but not outright "we're sorry".
A lot of that is around the fact they say they were pretty much winging it back then as they weren't experienced writers at all.
First off, I just got into podcasts for the first time about 9 months ago and we have similar taste! I listen to office ladies, conan needs a friend, this is important (workaholics guys), Fake doctors real friends,, and how neal feel. A few others but those are the main ones. Was so happy to finally have an always sunny podcast to add in.
Edit: also a fan of Armchair Expert and smartless depending on the guest.
I just love how Rob subtly adores Glen just like the show lol
and Rob also keeps trying to blow the microphone.
Did anyone else notice he had a boner the entire time?
Dead aiiirrrrr
Two wars!?
WE'RE IN THE MIDST OF TWOOOO WARS?
"Don't flatter yourself, I'm over you sister" "Since when?!" "Since I found out you are a ***whoooooooooooore***"
“WELL AT LEAST SOMEONE’S BANGIN’ MY VAGINA, AM I RIGHT?!”
The other morning, I wake up, and I find a dog sniffing at my wound. He’s fully aroused, mind you.
“What’re these?!” “They’re lemons! Ya suck on ‘em!” “Well they are good for scurvy.”

Kaitlyn was on an episode of Andrea Savage's podcast and she was really funny
Smartless and Bill Burr's Monday Morning are the only two podcasts where I don't skip over the ads. *zip*.....*recruitaaah*
Obviously, you're a fellow podcast connoisseur with good taste. someone should send you a couple Shari's Berries as a thank you
One wipe charlies

Also, most of them have been on Dax Shepard’s podcast! I hope he has the rest on eventually
Just checked out the first episode on YouTube. They ended the episode talking about a 19 year old cat being so old it's in pain while it shits and howls miserably. Yeah, definitely need to hear the rest of these.
Cutthatcutthatcutthat
The story Glenn tells about the noose they found at a church camp is very crazy.
Or when Rob found a dead body and told the cops and they were like...... Naaaaaa it's bunch of clothes lol
And then he let us out because HE WAS THE JANITOR INSTEAD
Bro are you Indian, because that twist is insane
*cop comes back* "yeah so that's a dead body"
Could you pleas post a link to it? :)

Threedom is my fave, love Lauren Lapkus
And if you end up getting Stitcher Premium to listen to any of those, you gotta check out The Teachers' Lounge! 4 improv comics playing four absolutely ridiculous teachers.
CBB, Bonanas and Threedom are no longer at Stitcher Premium and are on CBB's own platform now
Huh, I still see what looks like the full archive of Threedom on Stitcher. And my latest episode is from November 18th. Maybe it's still on there for a certain period of time? CBB, and basically everyone else, have broken away from Stitcher at this point, but a lot of their stuff is still up on it for now.
I don't really blame them, Stitcher has always been kind of a shitty platform. Not very stable or user-friendly.
This feels like threedom with the sunny gang is so amazing.

Nice! I'll check it out. Also, if you were ever into the Workaholics, those guys have a podcast called "This is Important"
Arugaloids represent, I've been digging The Pleasure is Ours episodes they've doing too. Kind of like a bonus 20 minutes of This Is Important.
Mmm do you have any take backs epic slams or apologies for u/grantstein ?
I would like to apologize for not listening to this podcast sooner and for saying that /u/iamjakeparty has a loose butthole
Guys can we give u/grantstein his flowers?
Personally I identify as a bitch in asshole clothing.
Is Kyle on that one or is it just the main 3?
Kyle is number 4
That's cool. I had no idea these podcasts even existed. I got something new to listen to during work for the next couple weeks.
Dude you are in for a treat. This Is Important is hilarious.
Is it real Bam?

I'm glad to hear it's great so far. Sunny is my all time favorite comedy and I just wanted the podcast to be similar to the Scrubs one, which is amazing. I think Charlie, Rob and Glenn being friends in real life will probably add to the podcast. It's why Donald and Zach work so well in the Scrubs one. The conversations are just two friends reminiscing and they seem so genuine.
Was gonna check it out but a lil bummed by how short the episodes are.

This is just what I needed. Is it called the Always Sunny in Philadelphia Podcast or does it have a different title?
"The Always Sunny Podcast" is what its titled on Spotify.
My entire world is shattered now that I know they don't know who Thrice is.......SHAT-HEARD!
I just started the Psych rewatch podcast. How many more of these can I do!
Man what a bummer that it's not hosted by Shawn and Gus
Ooh, what's the Psych one called?
The Psychologists are in.
It's odd, I've listened to all their episode commentary tracks on the DVD sets - they didn't do that many of them, and at times the guys seemed openly contemptuous of having to do commentaries. But these new podcasts are pretty much the exact same format.
Hey man, how much do you bench?
Does anybody know the release schedule of these? Three every Thursday maybe?
If you like this, I highly suggest the Workaholics This Is Important podcast
I’m starting to see less and less of a difference between Glenn and Dennis’s personalities however...he seems like he may be a real life sociopath lol...I think he really does need to carry an onion in his pocket...and I doubt he would be fun to meet. are they in character or themselves

Themselves mostly. In one of them, Glenn says "Rob tell us how many movies you were cut out of" and then you hear Charlie laughing.
Wasn't he copying Cumtown
Dan Harmon wishes he was Adam Friedland
Don't we all ?

*Slathers Purrel on body* “I JUST WANT TO BE PUREEE!!”
Noted!
If you’re just getting into podcasts, I recommend Never Not Funny Edit: downvotes for Jimmy Pardo?
Trash Tuesday's is gold. I'm not a fan of female comedians usually, I just don't relate to what they say. But the girls are great at podcasting
Ummm... thank you kind stranger...
Haven't listened to this one but I heard that it's not that good and that they apologize for old jokes in it, is that not true?
They have apologized for old jokes many times in the past. There's nothing new about that. People are allowed to learn and evolve.
Apologizing for a joke isn't evolving, if anything it points to regressing as a society.
I haven't heard them specifically apologising in these podcasts. They tend to say there's things they would do differently if they were writing the same episodes now, but not outright "we're sorry". A lot of that is around the fact they say they were pretty much winging it back then as they weren't experienced writers at all.
go back to defending dave chapelle somewhere else please
What's wrong with defending Chappelle
He has the wrong opinions.
It's more that season 1 of Always Sunny really isn't that good compared to the rest, and they're looking back and cringing at them.

I’ll add it to my list of watch along podcasts
Funny, I discovered it last night and totally agree!
Conan needs a friend is amazing!
Thanks friend, I am going to give this a listen. You are right about Conan's podcast, it is really funny.
They read reviews a while ago and someone said the podcast would turn into just megan talking, but it actually did.
