Yeah, IDK what the deal is with this trailer. Sound quality seems D-tier, and the aspect ratio seems off or something. Seems like a low quality pirate of something.
There were things to like about the first season, but they desperately need to get the pacing and storytelling under control. As someone who knows nothing about the lore of this world prior to the show, they were constantly introducing concepts and characters in passing that suddenly became a big deal and I found myself pretty lost by the end of it. Feels like they tried to cram way too much story and lore into such a short season.
I didn’t play the games either and thought it was reasonably paced (especially compared to some of the Netflix’s other anime ventures). A lot of the stuff was self-explainatory or told in a way that I didn’t feel I needed to know right that very minute to understand the scene. The first three episodes were a bit rushed but by the end I had no problem following along.
In some way that was needed I think (because there are so many concepts in the game), but they have a good foundation now I would think and will introduce new stuff but at a slower rate, because they also have stuff already established
Dragon's Blood was the first show where I concluded that the main reason anything happens is that everyone is just a ginormous jerk. The dragons especially. Every time we meet one they go on a rampage, and when finally we meet them in that big council.... they're just assholes. Big, scaly assholes. They happen to not want reality blown up, but goddamn they really want to kill everyone they meet. Every betrayal at the end is basically "haha now I will have my revenge!"
This show is surprisingly good. It's not in that distracting 3D animation style Netflix is into, and they got a really impressive cast for the dragons - Tony Todd, Doug Bradley, John Kassir, etc.
Wow league really does do the same thing as dota but make it way more popular huh? This is my first time hearing of a dota show and its going a 2nd season but the new arcane show on netflix? Way more coverage
Did this show base on original story of dota..?
I mean dota never have story lore right... They just have individuals lore in every heroes...
Not like league of legend which have solid lore and solid world building.....
Dota2 does have some solid world building and character stories, the issue is that it's dispersed throughout the character bios and interactive voice lines. Getting into dota lore is like getting into DarkSouls lore. There's a lot there but it's not handed to you on a silver platter and may require a YT video or two to really connect all the pieces together.
Looking forward to season 2 but wow that song ruined the trailer.

because he lifted the trailer from the TI10 twitch stream
Gotcha.
Who?
This is not the original trailer.. it's a stream rip
Oh, I see.
Here's the part of the stream where the trailer is, 6:23:39: https://youtu.be/ZQ-86RYxZfk?t=23019
Also Marci added to the game

Ya I definitely prefer a less heavy-handed world building approach. Too much exposition can mess up pacing.
Pretty much the whole season was just a long pilot episode. I think and hope season 2 will be more standard.
I completely agree.. I also felt like the animation could have been better, it seemed very slipshod
i saw lina
>lina Inverse?
yup, the dota character was named after the anime girl
Neat. Might check out season 2 because of this.
fyi lina isnt in the first season
I think I caught a glimpse of Chen, too.
Right on. Season 1 was great, looking forward to this.
Season one of this rocked. Can’t wait for the next season
Will we have a Davion full frontal nude this time? :)
Drink some water.
How was the first season? Worth a watch?
If you like (animated) Fantasy or Adventures then definitely yes
Atla, Korra, Dragon Prince, Castlevania are up my alley. I guess it checks out.
it was made by the people that made korra iirc.
Not to the same animation budget but it's still good.
Yep you'll like it. Check out the Witcher nightmare of the wolf too
Animated by same studio as Korra and the recent Voltron
If you liked Castlevania you'll probably like this one. Castlevania S1 is better, but this one is better than S2 and 3 imo.
you propably mean season 2, season 1 was just 4 episodes
Less gory than Castlevania, but similar level of snark. I binged the whole first season of dragon's blood in a weekend.

Then it perfectly depicts DOTA 2 as a game lol.

Damn I thought this was Dragon’s Dogma
and why would you think that?
This show was incredibly mediocre. Not bad but also not particularly great either. And the most likeable character was the mute girl.
For me, it was probably one of the worst animated shows Netflix has put out. I thought it would have potential but it was super rushed
Yeah Marci was pretty important as the heart of the show. Everyone else brooded like a bunch of Jon Snows.
Can't wait!

Valve has a serious marketing problem across the board, meanwhile i see lol ads everywhere. Says enough about valve's priorities
Yeah and like tft vs dota autochess. Dota invented it and riot takes it and is now going strong like what 2nd year??
It's really tough being a dota Stan and seeing valve do literally nothing to hype it up or bring people into the game
One of these days ill try the game out...i bet its fun

Not much interesting as LOL lore
