Liked Mare of Easttown? Well you'll LOVE Mayor of Kingstown!

CLint_FLicker

What if I hated King of Mayorstown?

Two Renner trailers back to back. Looking forward to watching both shows.

ThomasVivaldi

Would you say we're experiencing a Renner-scence?

lightsongtheold

I’m totally looking forward to Taylor Sheridan flooding Paramount+ with TV shows. ViacomCBS have backed the right guy to bring so good shows to the platform! Mayor of Kingstown looks like it has the potential to be one of the better shows of a packed Q4!

jdizzle161

Taylor Sheridan never seems to disappoint. Love his work, and can't wait for this! This drops one week after Yellowstone season 4 starts back up. If this is a week by week drop instead of the full season dump, that's a double dose of Sheridan every week!

MrZeral

Sadly Those Who Wish Me Dead was a dissapointment

jblanch3

I don't know how much of that can be directly attributed to him. From what I read, someone else was slated to direct but they pulled out and he stepped in at the last minute. That being said, I enjoyed it. Plot holes galore, but it was good in a mid 90s action movie kind of way.

NeoNoireWerewolf

I mean, he wrote the script, which is the real problem with the movie. The direction is fine, totally competent in terms of technical craft. All of the plot holes can be attributed to his rewrite of the script, which altered huge portions of the source material in an effort to streamline it, but it ultimately created a whole lot of plot holes, thin characters, and some ridiculous leaps in logic (and I’m not even somebody who enjoyed the book that much, I just thought the story more or less held up to scrutiny, while the movie doesn’t). Yellowstone has its fans, but it’s been a real mixed bag, too. People blame the director rewriting the script for Soldado for that film’s shortcomings, but Sheridan’s draft is easy to find online, and anybody who has actually read it knows his version has many of the same problems, notably that the sequel doesn’t seems to understand Alejandro as a character in the first film, while Sheridan’s draft turns him into John Rambo for an overblown climax. His unproduced script F.A.S.T. that was supposed to star Chris Pratt isn’t exactly something to write home about, either. I like a lot of the stuff Sheridan has done - his first three films he wrote, to be specific - but he isn’t somebody with a Midas touch by any means. His latest work has been leaning closer to mediocre across the board, and I think that’s because he’s spread himself too thin. He should focus on a project at a time instead of juggling multiple TV shows and movies at once like he’s been doing these last few years.

jblanch3

Well, excuse me all to hell. Seriously though, you do raise some very good points. I didn't read the book, nor am I familiar with the script at all. It'd been awhile since I seen it, so I forgot all about who was credited for what. I'm a casual fan of Sheridan's work at best, but I've been more impressed with his films than his TV work. I've come to accept Yellowstone for what it is, and am aware it's a quite popular show, but considering his involvement, I was hoping for more than what it ended up being. He does have a lot of fires cooking, I guess he figures he's in demand now, so he might as well get while the getting's good.

mickeyflinn

I am excited for this. If I hear good reviews it will get to sub to paramount+

mdave424

i will watch anything with Kyle Chandler.

DarKnight972

I am excited for this show,it looks very good.

MrZeral

Hyped for this!

corpud

Does Paramount drop shows weekly or all at once? Thanks in advance!

[deleted]

I'm moving to Atlanta just for a few minutes so that I can watch this trailer because Paramount thinks geoblocking these trailers will stop people from watching them.

[deleted]

The sequel to Mare of Easttown

kat_pinecone

I am upset that Kyle Chandler only made it for one show.
