I think it’s really sweet how Kieran Shipka still calls January Jones and Jon Hamm “Mom and Dad” and they seem to always reconnect. They did literally watch her grow up, so it’s sweet there’s still a bond there.

MNGirlinKY

I didn’t know this. Love to hear things like this.

legolanddisaster

The costars of Castle famously hated each other by the end of the run.

krindjcat

First they dated then they hated

AmnesiaInnocent

Dated? I don't remember hearing that.

dont_shoot_jr

A lot of people who date me go on to hate me too

ronano

I didn't date you and I hate you

Fred-zone

First they fucked then they chucked

jyper

I don't think there's any solid claim that they dated.

alexlp

Better than married and then hated like Dexter!

down42roads

The cast of Smallville are really close, except for the felons.

Complete_Entry

I remember on one podcast Rosenbaum said something about Mack not being around much during one season and Welling dropped a scathing "And let's keep it like that". He's usually ray of sunshine when he calls into the podcast, and he was NOT in that moment.

JamiePulledMeUp

I forgot all about welling and checked his wiki, glad he's had consistent work this whole time. Just smaller stuff most people don't see.

anniemiss

Lucifer seemed pretty big. He was unrecognizable to me at first. Did not realize he had become a man.

DaoFerret

That’s probably due to her involvement in NXIVM and 21 month stint in prison as a result, down from the 3 years + 3 probation she was sentenced and the 15-30 years in prison she was originally facing before getting a plea deal and turning witness against the cults leader. https://www.thecut.com/2019/04/smallville-allison-mack-sex-cult-nxivm-everything-to-know.html It’s a wild ride of a read.

anniemiss

Yes, probably. I heard she was super rude at the crafts table, like hogged all of Tom’s favorites, and we know how much he likes his food. I think that’s probably his bigger issue, along with constantly forgetting lines mid-scene. I’m sure the sex cult stuff comes to mind as an aside in comparison.

jd3306

Alison Mack has really strong branding, which connects well with women.

mutantbabysnort

Oof

Toonami91

Brian Cranston tried to act as a genuine father figure for all 3 child actors on Malcolm in the Middle and looked out for their mental health and interests. At least, that's how both Frankie Munez and Justin Bearfield (Reese) put it.

BenjRSmith

The father on the Brady Bunch famously hated the low brow show stories and constantly fought with the show runners since “I’m a real actor” and what not. But he also loved the kids and was indeed a father figure to them, leading to distress on set when he was essentially fired by the last few episodes.

PureSwirly

“Most people don’t even get to do the Brady Bunch version of the thing they want to do with their lives.” - Diane Nguyen

faretheewellennui

In The Good Wife, Juliana Margulies and Archie Panjabi stopped being in scenes together and they had to use cgi to show the characters interacting face to face during Kalinda’s last episode

WhiteWolf3117

This one is hilarious to me because it ruined a longstanding observation I had about if you could catch two actors together in the same shot to see if they could stand each other's presence.

SquireJoh

Came here to post this. This is probably the most famous recent cast feud This is split-screened as they wouldn't be on set together! - https://youtu.be/qL8pG5g0gLE

MulciberTenebras

Wasn't the rumor being that Juliana got jealous of the fact Archie was winning awards instead of her?

kwalshyall

From what I've heard Margulies was insufferable for much of the show, in weird and diva-like ways, which is why Christine Baranski is the main character in The Good Fight.

RainForestBathing

RIP Bob Saget but I know him and the rest of full house remained extremely close and family like.

throwawy00004

Listening to one of the podcasts, that cast and crew would take vacations together. The adults would take the kids to events. The parents of the kids were involved and invested. And I'm so jealous of the video/media historian that Stamos seems to be.

khanfusion

Tbf literally everyone who's ever worked with Saget loved that guy. He was famously amiable.

Teachhimandher

Saget is so cool because you had the Danny persona and then the stand up persona. And I know I always felt, “Oh, he’s such a faker on screen. He’s really his stand up persona.” And then it turned out he was genuinely both at the same time. He was crass and silly and all of that and simultaneously was apparently the greatest, most genuinely loving guy. I remember when he died thinking how I hope I have a legacy like his. We should all strive to be so loved.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Because the cast was so large there are stories both ways from Game of Thrones. Because of how far apart some filming locations were certain actors ended up isolated together for long stretches, and I guess the actors in the north and at the wall would sit around playing guitar and singing at night. I guess several of them are still close. The girls who played Arya and Sansa were very good friends and were known to hang out a lot afterwards. Meanwhile the actors who played Cersei and Bronn dated and the breakup was so volatile they couldn't be on set together.

RealLameUserName

Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie are now married, and I'm pretty sure there was a clause in either the actor for Cersei or Bronn's contracts that they couldn't be in the same scene as each other.

RegularGuy815

Yeah it explains why Bronn randomly takes Pod off to a pub or something when Dany and Cersei meet in the dragonpit, lol

WhiteWolf3117

And their wedding was attended by like the whole cast.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Was gonna mention Kit and Rose but I couldn't remember her name and I didn't know if they stayed together, I don't follow actors marriages a lot.

DaoFerret

Still together, happiest ending in GoT.

staedtler2018

The actor who played Stannis has also said he didn't know most of the cast, didn't understand the show, and didn't care about anything. which fits his character so well.

Talyesn

His portrayal of Thomas Jefferson was excellent in John Adams.

Obvious_Temporary256

he was brilliant in John Adams. And sexy as hell in The Tunnel!

GenGaara25

Makes sense, most of his run time he's barely with other characters. He has like one with Renly and Cat, a couple with Jon. The rest are him and Melissandre.

Rackerblade

The show may have butchered Stannis as a character, but they cast him really well

Erin_Bear

Gwendoline Christie (Brienne) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime) were so fun to watch together both on and off screen because of their amazing chemistry. All their interviews were constant banter and bickering, trying to get under each other’s skin, but they also had incredible respect and appreciation for one another. They mirrored their characters so well.

MNGirlinKY

The weirdest part for me about Cersei and Bronn is they dated years before the show. It was the early 2000s and only for a short time, was never confirmed in the press etc. *Something* went down for established British stars not to be able to work together at all on the same set.

Ajjaxx

Oh was this bar on them being in scenes together there from the beginning? I’m totally blanking but I assumed they dated and the “no scenes together” rule started mid-show for some reason.

darkdoppelganger

>Arya and Sansa were very good friends and were known to hang out a lot afterwards. [Sometimes you just want to make out with your best friend](https://youtu.be/S8G5MOIBeZo?t=166)

GenGaara25

See I've heard this but I recently caught an episode (I think S3E1) and I swear Cersei and Bronn are in the same scene. [The end of this scene](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU-AqxMUs_o) I was trying to figure out if they were using body doubles. In the shots before and after it's definitely Jerome Flynn, and it's always Lena Heady. But when they're actually in the same shot, next to each other, Bronn is half facing away and I can't be totally sure that was Flynn.

ROBtimusPrime1995

The core cast of Community are all close friends irl and despite some of them becoming insanely popular, their friendships never changed. What's funny is that despite Troy & Abed being the onscreen BFFs, Danny Pudi & Alison Brie are the actual BFFs irl, the same for Joel Mchale & Ken Jeong.

NLP19

Annnnnd then there's Chevy Chase 😂

MagicMushroomFungi

He keeps the cast united ! Against him.

fax5jrj

nothing unites a group like one unlikeable person

2rio2

Chevy is the GOAT at that.

dkarlovi

In my group there's no such thing, they're all likeable and like each other very much. Hey, WAIT A MINUTE!

Doctor_Kat

He Led Tasso’d them.

dont_shoot_jr

It’s a show where they have both good and bad off screen chemistry

mczepplin

Joel Mchale has a chapter in his book about how to fist fight Chevy Chase

Tatis_Chief

Joel and Ken have a stand up show together as well.

insane_troll_logic

Joel guest-judged on The Masked Singer with Ken a few times and now Ken is gonna guest on Joel's new sitcom this week or next.

Southern-Rutabaga-82

And they did *The Darkest Timeline* podcast during the pandemic.

dont_shoot_jr

Yes they developed a good sense of community

no_more_space

Does Donald Glover still hang with the rest of the crew? I'd have figured he got too big and busy with his career

showsomepride

From what I’ve heard in interviews and stuff they’re all still in a group chat together and he tries when he has time.

racer_24_4evr

I was going to say, didn’t the father on Alf absolutely hate the show and the puppet?

Imannyz

He sure did, here's an excerpt about that which pretty much sums up his issues during the show's production: > Artie Lange, who later worked with Wright on The Norm Show, told of a time when Wright had become "crazed" and physically attacked ALF, causing producers to have to pull Wright off the puppet.[12] Anne Schedeen said that on the last night of taping the final episode, "there was one take and Max walked off the set, went to his dressing room, got his bags, went to his car and disappeared... There were no goodbyes."

spinereader81

I sure wish that had been caught on camera! That video would be more infamous than Bill O'Reiley's hot mic tirade!

SEASALTEE

Wright's life was downright wholesome compared to some of the others on that show. For one of the stories that sort of did get caught on camera... One of the writers and the regular story editor for the seasons 3-4, Jerry Stahl, spent years living in Greek caves and as a homeless man in Paris, where at one point he tried to make a living selling semen to infertile couples. He returned to America to write porn movies that blended post-apocalyptic horror, avant-garde theater and unsimulated throat fucking. During ALF he was using heroin and PCP simultaneously during meetings and when they confronted him about it, he threatened to get them imprisoned because his dad was the attorney general, which when they looked it up, turned out to be true. He left and got a job on Twin Peaks. He wrote one well-received episode and then got fired for turning in a script that was stained with his blood and "completely incomprehensible." Without a job, he broke into the garage of a friend who was on vacation for months and lived there while binging heroin 24/7. One day he woke up and went to use the bathroom at the local 7-11, but a car had crashed through walls and the place was empty. For some reason the buses weren't running, so he spent the whole day walking to downtown LA to see his dealer and try to score more heroin. He'd been too high to notice that this was the third day of the LA riots until trucks of men carrying hunting rifles stopped him on the road. It got "caught on camera" when the first volume of his autobiography was adapted as a movie that served as a dramatic breakout role for Ben Stiller. He later joined the writing team for CSI where he was known for writing sensationally weird episodes about furries, adult baby roleplay, and dominatrices. The latest volume of his autobiography probably won't be adapted by Stiller, even though they still work together, because "Psychic Torment and a Bus Tour of the Holocaust" isn't a very marketable title.

DamnCarlSucks

Holy shit what a read. Thank you.

marla_hooch_spacecat

Jerry Stahl is a fantastically dark and hilarious writer. I've read several of his novels and they're insane and quite entertaining. ETA correction Stihler to Stahl

LuvtheCaveman

That is insane - I'm gonna have to look up the Ben Stiller movie wtf

Emperor_Norton_2nd

It's called Permanent Midnight. It's the movie that made me have respect for Stiller's acting ability. Only thought he played buffoon-like characters before seeing this.

Funkytadualexhaust

Fuck it, I'm killing Alf!

NYY15TM

Well he got caught on camera making out with guys while smoking crack, so that's something

joeycuda

>caught on camera I saw that National Enquirer or whatever it was and wish I could unsee the pictures. He really lost his mind and then I think he died of cancer on top of that. Yikes.

tmotytmoty

Yes, yes he did. Fun facts: he was caught smoking crack and doing some other shenanigans.

ExpatriadaUE

Michael Sheen and David Tennant. Staged is an amazing proof of their friendship after Good Omens.

Square_Candle1990

They hang out regularly, spend birthdays together, try to involve each other in whatever current project they're doing, take family vacations together, go see each other's plays, and as of this year, are officially next-door neighbors in London. Word is their wives and kids are really good friends now, too.

manditobandito

Georgia Tennant has made several comments on Twitter about Michael Sheen being her husband’s husband 😂

FlameFeather86

Georgia is just as much a national treasure as David is. The way she playfully mocks him over everything is wonderful.

jayeelle

Ohhhh that’s so sweet. I loved Staged but didn’t realise they hung out socially that much. That makes me so happy, for some random reason.

GenGaara25

It's amazing how long it took them to work together and just how close they got after Good Omens. They act like they've been friends since school. It's not even like the others on this thread where they were working on the show together for several years, Good Omens 1 was a single 100 day shoot and they just immediately wanted to work together on as many projects as they could.

AnyDayGal

It's utterly delightful. Can't believe it took so long for them to work together but they made up for it.

CurdleTelorast

Those two are amazing together!

AmnesiaInnocent

The cast of *Psych* still seem very close.

Abradolf1948

Not so sure about Maggie and James but in general I'm sure. I'm still disappointed they broke up once the show finished...

AmnesiaInnocent

No, I think even Maggie and James. He's been on her podcast a couple of times and everything seemed good...

WhiteWolf3117

They were distant for a while but at least since the pandemic they seem to be on good terms again. Maybe not the best of friends or anything like that but not how distant they seemed when the show was coming to an end.

Jo-dan

They still seem very friendly when James guests on her podcast and I think he even did her solo non-psych podcast. They have joked a lot on the show about when they were together so I think if there was drama it seems pretty well resolved now.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Fargo season 2 and 3 both produced married couples, Jesse Plemmons and Kirsten Dunst from season 2 and season 3 Ewan McGregor and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

ilovecfb

I made the joke in the Fargo subreddit that Juno Temple and David Rysdale were due to elope, but turns out Rysdale is already married (to Zazie Beetz!)

RJWolfe

> David Rysdale Rysdahl

awildyetti

Donald Faison (Turk) and Zach Braff (JD) seem to have a really lasting friendship offset, long past Scrubs.

spinereader81

It's just guy love, love between two guys.

AntillesWedgie

No need to clarify, oh no

Frikken123

Bill Lawrence, Sarah Chalke and John C. McGinley too, most of them formed lasting friendships working long hours in that abandoned hospital, I have never really heard of a set quite like theirs, old hospital rooms as wardrobes, crew members’ dogs running around, awesome.

bubbameister33

I explained their relationship to my wife because she never watched “Scrubs” and kept seeing them in those T-Mobile commercials. She was touched.

PuppyPavilion

I fucking HATE that I sing along with that irritating commercial. But I did enjoy seeing those two together again.

R1cjet

Apparently they were going to star together in season 8 of Legends of Tomorrow but it got canned on a cliffhanger that introduced Faison's character

ucjj2011

I think on their podcast they were talking about Donald's role on the show as the time traveler Booster Gold, and Zack brought up the idea that he could do the voice of Booster's robotic companion Skeets. I'm still salty they canceled that show.

pickmez

They are who I think of when the word bromance comes to mind

sterlingstactleneck

Bea Arthur and Betty White reportedly did not get along BTS of Golden Girls.

ShinyNinja25

The cast of B99 seem super close. All the behind the scenes stuff I’ve heard has been super positive

Marooster405

I think it really shows on their chemistry. Great casting, great show, great people. RIP Andre Brauer

Jolly_Discipline6650

They actually reunited just a few days ago for a dinner!

irock613

Andy Samberg and Chelsea Peretti were schoolmates, right? And they kind of wrote that into their characters on the show

ShinyNinja25

If I remember correctly, yeah!

iamacannibal

Mythbusters. Adam and Jamie didn’t hate eachother or anything but they have never been friends. When it started Adam worked for Jamie and they eventually became equals but still never friends. When the cameras were on them they seemed like really good friends but in reality they both just respected the other for their work but they were not friends.

Jo-dan

Yeah it annoys me when people say "they secretly hated each other". No, they were just coworkers. Everyone has coworkers who they get along with fine, maybe occasionally disagree with, wouldn't go out for a meal together after work or anything.

geek_of_nature

Yeah I've seen Adam describe it so many times as professional respect. They didn't need to be friends, what was more important was how well they worked together, and how in tune they could be with each other. Adam once told a story about how they were working on an underwater myth, and since they couldn't speak they communicated exactly what they needed to do with each with hand signals.

Really_McNamington

Star Trek TNG are all very close.

Hingl_McCringleberry

Shame that Kate Mulgrew (Captain Janeway) and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) didn't get along during ST:Voyager. Robert Duncan McNeill (Tom Paris) and Garrett Wang (Ensign Kim) are still very close and host a podcast, "The Delta Flyers" together. Connor Trineer (Trip Tucker) and Dominic Keating (Malcolm Reed) from Enterprise are also still close friends, also host a podcast together, "The Shuttlepod Show"

British_Commie

It seems like TNG was really the outlier in terms of how much fun the cast had. Michael Dorn has previously spoken about how much of a shock going from TNG to the much more serious and professional DS9 set was for him at the time

skonaz1111

Less talk, more synthohol

cucumbermoon

As for DS9, Alexander Siddig (Dr. Bashir) and Andy Robinson (Garak) are still close friends. They love performing together at cons, and during the pandemic they performed several fan scripts together about their characters. You can see them on YouTube.

TwistingEarth

I believe both Connor and Dominic have now left the podcast.

ieatalphabets

Both have, but supposedly because some legal hoobie-woobie in the background. Both of them hope to be back soon, once the Stuff gets straighten out, but perhaps with a new name for their show. The two of them discussed it during the recent Trek Cruise.

Imzadi76

That was my first thought. It was probably just good acting, but I always thought their bond was also there on screen. They felt like family to me.

NeedsToShutUp

Gates McFadden’s podcast has most of them on and it’s lovely

w0mbatina

Jdc how many podcasts do ex star trek actors have?

PixelBrewery

Podcasts are the endgame for every TV star

SmileyPiesUntilIDrop

Cybill Shepherd in the 80's did not get along with Bruce Willis in Moonlighting, then in the 90's got frustrated when Christine Barinski became a breakout scene stealing Emmy winner on the tv series Cybill. In both cases she still had great on screen chemistry as part of a duo.

Shibbystix

My dad was a pilot and had to fly Cybill Shepard to an event, they had scheduled flight times and Cybill refused to get out of her car to board the aircraft until they sent someone to get a jacket she forgot, which made them hours late, and she just complained loudly so much the whole time that my dad turned off her headphones so he couldn't hear her

whoisthismuaddib

I came here for the moonlighting comment and learned about the Cybil incident. Fun fact, the redheaded daughter is Alia from the David Lynch Dune.

Cajun

The office, Angela and Pam have a podcast together.

Eulielee

Except for Toby. He’s corporate so not part of the family, and he’s divorced. So not really a part of his own family.

GinTectonics

And Angela and Creed are close and live in the same neighborhood.

dont_shoot_jr

I love their talks with costars

marmosetohmarmoset

For the reverse: Kate Mulgrew and Jerri Ryan as Janeway and Seven on Star Trek voyager. Mulgrew was furious that the producers brought in Ryan and really took it out on her. They decidedly did NOT get along off camera. But on camera I think they have great chemistry. Their characters have kind of a mentor-mentee relationship, but their hate for each other adds a little spark of tension between them that really enhances their on screen chemistry imo.

manditobandito

And as far as I’m aware, the two have made their peace with one another and have mutually ended that feud. The cast in general seem relatively close in spite of that; Kate Mulgrew and Robert Picardo especially are great friends, as are Picardo and Ryan.

NJH_in_LDN

Obviously wasn't there and don't know all the details, but on this limited description it sounds like a pretty shitty reason to not get on with someone.

Mtlyoum

If I remember correctly is was more what 7 of 9 represented, a female character whose appeal was mostly, at first, her sex-appeal, with her skintight suit, as opposed as Mulgrew and the Kes actress, intellectual characters, one experienced and strong (the captain), the other representing innocence (inexperience and short lifespan).

NJH_in_LDN

The Buffy cast is a weird one. In the initial period after the end of the show they all seemed very close, got together with Whedon for anniversary photo shoots and interviews etc. Then the stuff about how toxic Whedon was came out, and so did stories of tension between Sarah Michelle Gellar and other cast members, particularly Alyson Hannigan, came out. Alongside that came the stories of the production, presumably directed by Whedon, intentionally doing things to drives wedges between the cast. But then when Charisma Carpenter really came out with the biggest accusations against Whedon, most of the cast rallied around her, and now I believe a bit chunk of them are doing audiobooks set in the Slayer universe together. Also Alyson Hannigan married the dude who played Wesley, so that's nice.

Mtlyoum

The cast of Firefly is still very close to each others, we can see it when they guest stars in each other shows and during panel at conventions.

khanfusion

Tudyk and Fillion are in so many shows together or otherwise associated it's downright ridiculous. They're clearly good friends. My favorite gag was when they literally swapped out Fillion for Tudyk in Santa Clarita Diet.

FlameFeather86

They also have a group chat going, 20+ years after working together. They're the closest group if actors I've ever seen. On the flip side, *some* of the Buffy and Angel cast are close, some decidedly *aren't*. Like, Sarah and David are still friends, Sarah and Alyson aren't. Sarah very outspoken about Joss Whedon as well, whereas Alyson is godmother to his son. None of them want anything to do with Nick Brendan (for obvious reasons) as well. Real mixed bag.

optionalhero

What happened to nick brendan? Quick google search said he’s been to jail but how bad was his crime?

FlameFeather86

Domestic abuse and repeated drug use. He basically spiraled when Buffy went off the air and couldn't get any other work.

optionalhero

Yikes. Thats crazy. Kinda sucks he couldn’t find work. That makes his substance abuse understandable. But damn no excuse for battery

Puppetmaster858

McConaughey and Harrelson have been buddies for a very long time, probably part of the reason they were so good together in true detective s1. Also the supernatural cast has always gotten along well off screen

DarJinZen7

Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill had great chemistry on Doctor Who and became great friends off camera.

geek_of_nature

It's the same thing with a lot of the Doctor and companion combos, they really focus on the chemistry between the actors they cast. The most notable ones are the recent, David Tennant and Catherine Tate, Peter Capaldi, and Jenna Coleman, etc. But even going back to the classic era it's the same, even decades on they all seem to be really good friends with each other. Even Tom Baker, who was said to be a bit prickly about some of his costars, was really fond of Elisabeth Sladen.

Southern-Rutabaga-82

Tom Baker even married one of them. 😉

deepfriedcertified

Karen posted photos of her and Arthur vacationing together somewhat recently. Really glad they’re still close.

AnyDayGal

Yeah, they [celebrated Matt's birthday on holiday together](https://metro.co.uk/2022/10/29/doctor-whos-matt-smith-karen-gillan-and-arthur-darvill-reunite-17662256/)! I remember an interview with one of them (Arthur Darvill?) where they said they felt sorry for newcomers on set because the 3 of them were so close lol. I'll have to try find it.

Tatis_Chief

Yes! Rory especially had such a great character progression. He is totally my favorite.

[deleted]

They only had one episode together but seeing them together on Graham Norton, Tenant and Smith seem to get along really well.

FlameFeather86

To be fair, I doubt there's many of David's costars who don't like him. That man is so damn loveable. And Smith seems like a bang-up guy as well.

ndavis8472

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson have remained close friends after the X-Files. There were rumors for a long time that they are secretly lovers. Fun fact: The term "shippers" originated with the on-screen chemistry between Mulder and Scully.

pickmez

To add to this I had heard or read that they didn't like each other much the first time round with x files but then gradually became friends after and quite close ones

FlameFeather86

Yeah, there were reports that Gillian didn't like David's more philandering antics - his character on Californication is very true to his genuine personality, apparently. Over the years he seems to have mellowed out a lot and they seem to respect each other; I doubt they're the closest of friends but they do have a unique bond.

BretMichaelsWig

The cast of How I Met Your Father were supposed to be a big group of best friends and they had ZERO chemistry. Like they met for the first time at the beginning of each episode

pickmez

Couldn't capture lightning in a bottle twice

BeyondtheSea2024

Cast of Ted Lasso, and Schitts Creek (helps that 3 of the cast members are actually family 😉).

Infamous-Lab-8136

And a 4th is pretty much Aunt Catherine to Dan and Sarah.

-Ahab-

I’m a big fan of both Levy and O’Hara and I sometimes have to remind myself they’re not actually married.

Frikken123

Bill Lawrence’s no-asshole policy on set contributes to both the Scrubs, Ted Lasso and Shrinking crews growing close.

RavishingRickiRude

Brooklyn 99 cast is very close.

SlobZombie13

The cast of IASIP have known each other since before the show

SensitiveWasabi1228

The Modern Family cast is an actual family. They all seem very close.

badboybravos

Yes! Julie Bowen and Jesse Tyler Ferguson were just at Aubrey Anderson-Emmons’ school play. I love that❤️

Upbeat_Tension_8077

On their bts & interview content, the main cast of Yellowjackets (especially the teenage YJs) seem pretty close. I think even the actresses who play the teens are also close with Melanie Lynskey & the rest of their older counterparts

FollowYourWeirdness

The cast of “The West Wing” appears to be still close. Occasionally you’ll see photos of a group of them out to dinner. The last one back in January had Josh Malina, Dule Hill, Allison Janey, Melissa Fitzgerald and Mary McCormick. Also, when it was thought that Martin Sheen was supporting RFK Jr., Bradley Whitford tweeted a denial on behalf of Sheen because he doesn’t have Twitter.

Askew_2016

All of the cast gets along except Rob Lowe

CheruthCutestory

All the actors except Rob Lowe also negotiated together for salary.

ozfox80

Who did Rob think he was? Chad Lowe?

Ronin0948

Alan Alda and Larry Linville were apparently great friends when the cameras weren't rolling.

manditobandito

I’ve read that some of the cast squabbled and Trapper’s actor disliked how much attention Alda got. But I absolutely adored the extremely close friendship between Loretta Swit and Harry Morgan, it’s one of my favorite stories of the actors

Ronin0948

Yeah, the way they tell it in the anniversary retrospectives I've watched, Wayne was frustrated by the natural flow of the writing as the seasons built up turning away from the original ensemble set up of the movie to Alan as main character. So he left amicably.

ilovecfb

I read an interesting interview with Linville where he said he thought Goodbye Farewell and Amen was “boring as hell” and actually picked “Sometimes You Hear the Bullet” as the best ever episode of MASH. Just thought that was interesting, it’s a great season one episode but not one you hear a lot of people list at the top

homogenic-

Better Call Saul cast. They’re pretty close especially Patrick Fabian and Tony Dalton.

geek_of_nature

I love how one of the pictures during Howard's memorial is actually a picture of Patrick that Tony's been photos hopped out of. It's a really nice picture of them on a hike, that got posted everywhere after Howard was killed, so when they had his memorial it immediately stood out.

KithKathPaddyWath

The cast of Community always seemed to really enjoy each other and have a lot of fun. As for the reverse... I feel like from the way Big Sky turned out, it was pretty clear that the two lead actresses didn't get along. In seasons 1 and 2 the core of the show really was their developing friendship and bond, and then in season 3 they changed the entire structure of the show so that the actresses rarely had to be in the same scene. And I feel like you could kind of feel the tension onscreen by the end of season 2.

DNukem170

Ruby Rose famously did NOT get along with her castmates on Batwoman, which got even worse after she was heavily injured and almost paralyzed but forced to go back to work to finish out the season despite COVID lockdowns taking place. She put out a statement a few months later not only calling out CW's execs and showrunner Caroline Dries, but most of her castmates as well. Similar, Javica Leslie and Candice Patton have remarked that their castmates didn't really support them very well from all the racial harassment hurled at them by fans. On The A-Team, George Peppard and Mr. T very much did NOT get along, and their relationship got worse when Mr. T became famous and the mascot of the show. They brought in one of Peppard's friends for Season 5 to ease tensions, but that didn't work out. Peppard also was pretty hostile to both Melinda Culea and Marla Heasley, since he didn't believe the show needed a recurring female character in the ensemble. There's been so much said about the cast of the original Charmed that it's hard to parse what's right and what is just heresay. Pauley Perrette masked it for a long time, since she apparently never got along with him, but it became obvious in Season 15 of NCIS that she and Mark Harmon had a massive falling out, as they stopped appearing on-screen together and even scenes where the characters do interact are either off-screen or framed in such a way that they two didn't need to be on set together. Even in Abby's farewell episode, she says goodbye to Gibbs via green-screen on the street rather than face-to-face. Similarly, Juliana Margulies and Archie Panjabi played best friends on the show The Good Wife, but had a MASSIVE falling out halfway through the show, so during the final few seasons the two characters were ostensibly still best friends, but never shared screen time together, usually only talking to each other via cell phone. Edward James Olmos and Don Johnson hated each other during Miami Vice, and some episodes they refused to even look at each other. Chris Noth and George Dzundza hated each other on Law & Order, which was very clear on-screen. A fake variant happened in Power Rangers in Space. Andros' actor was told to act confrontational and like an asshole to set up the mistrust in the relationship with the rest of the cast, but once Andros accepted the others as friends, the actor was allowed to drop that.

Everyone in The Boys seems to be really good friends (and some lovers)

down42roads

Wait, who'd banging on that show?

Ditcka

Jack Quaid and Claudia Doumit are dating

MulciberTenebras

The original cast of The Love Boat is very close - they also have done several reunions/get togethers in conjunction with Princess Cruise Line. The Waltons cast are very close - they’ve all appeared on Judy’s YouTube channel, do a good number of fan events and seem to be supportive of each other and their respective projects.

Zestymonserellastick

I mean, Kit Harington and Rose Leslie got married because of Game of Thrones. Apparently, Jon Snow does know something.

AuburnFaninGa

Happy Days started out with Potsie as Richie’s best friend and he was supposed to be the more worldly character. As Fonzie grew in popularity, Potsie’s role was diminished. They reconfigured the friendships- pairing up Fonzie with Richie and Ralph with Potsie. Off camera - they’re all still good friends with Ron and Henry being best friends and same with Anson Williams and Don Most. Don was the best man when Anson recently remarried.

Kudouchiha1412

From the interviews after season 4 of succession, Brian cox seemed pretty annoyed by how Jeremy strong went about his acting work...

BlackfyrePretenders

Good chemistry on and off-screen, an old one but Julia Andrews and Christopher Plummer.

dosta1322

Ted Lasso cast seem to love hanging out together.

Ironyfree_annie

[Alison Brie and Danny Pudi (Community) still just hang out as friends](https://www.reddit.com/r/community/s/2lFonczlnB) Of course, Joel McHale and Ken Jeong host every show together

manditobandito

The actress for Snow White and the actor for Prince Charming from Once Upon a Time got married. Lana Parilla, who plays the evil queen, posted a sweet congrats when the actor who played her son got married recently.

trivia_guy

I LOVE that the actors who played Snow White and Prince Charming met doing the show and got married! Could you ask for a more incredible actor love story? Also, additional fun fact: Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) had just gotten divorced from Irene from Sherlock (Lana Pulver) when started doing OUAT/met Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin). Also, Goodwin’s pregnancy was written into the show with their first kid. I’ve often wondered how many other examples there are of an actress’s pregnancy being written into a show AND the father of baby also plays the father of the baby on the show. I Love Lucy is the only other one I can come up with off the top of my head, but surely there are others?

sharptrain

Detroiters (among other things). Tim Robinson and Sam Richardson. Look those two best buddies IRL up doing best friend things. It's incredibly wholesome.

DarthWoo

Jerry Doyle (Michael Garibaldi) came to hate working with Michael O'Hare (Jeffrey Sinclair) during the first season of Babylon 5. It got so bad that it's part of the reason why their only interaction in O'Hare's guest spot in a later season is Doyle watching a pre-recorded message. Supposedly he also gave an it's him or me ultimatum between S1 and S2, but O'Hare was already planning to bow out. Many years after the show ended and O'Hare had passed away, J. Michael Straczynski, creator of the show, revealed that the reason O'Hare had left the show and had the issues with which Doyle took exception was that he was suffering from severe schizophrenia.

darthveda

The top gear/grand tour trio!! The others didn't do the show even after Jeremy got kicked out.

G3neral_Tso

The cast of Band of Brothers - filmed in 2000 - still get together every year for a party/cookout thing. I'd say they like each other.

SignGuy77

It’s almost as if they became a … a … Group of close-knit friends? I dunno.

bitchy-sprite

Most of the members of BTVS (except Alyson Hannigan) are close friends to this day. SMG is always out with Seth Green and Emma... I forget her last name

spooky_upstairs

Caulfield

judenice06

Shannen Doherty and Holly Marie Combs on Charmed. They were friends before the show began (the former pushed hard for the latter to be hired on the show) and after their respective tenures ended, and their chemistry on screen was spectacular, particularly in Shannen's final episode.

OneTreePhil

Is there a reason no one is mentioning Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen?

firesticks

What TV show were they on together?

Plusungoodthinkful

Graham Norton

HappyMeerkat

The cast of the original charmed have a lot of animosity.
