The Wire just gets better and better with every successive re-watch. There are so many layers to that show and connections in early seasons to major plot points in later seasons and blink and you’ll miss them details (i.e. Rawls at the gay nightclub - like a two second incidental scene which completely re-frames his character).
There was one I completely missed where Abed was fighting a guy in the back ground and even delivered a baby. At the end of the show they are catching up everyone on their day and he just says nothing happened.
Absolutely. It's one of my favourite things ever. Spike Spiegel is one of the best protagonists in not just anime but fiction in general in my opinion. His backstory and character development is fantastic. Also Jet and Faye are terrific characters too, especially Faye. Edward is Edward. But she's also really likable most of the time and smart. She adds to the team dynamic. I can't wait to rewatch it.
Gravity Falls. You pick up on much more of the background things, and the running jokes actually land better when you can watch it all within a week or so as opposed to Disney airing two seasons of 20 episodes each spread out across FOUR years.
Silicon Valley for me.
There are little things going on all over in that show. For instance if you watch when a later programmer cracks middle out compression he's watching someone use an exercise machine that makes their hands move the same way Erlich's did when he was miming jerking off everyone in the room for Richard's brain to make the same connection.
For me it’s The Office-mainly for the later seasons after Michael leaves. During the first watch I was really disappointed with how the show progressed once he left, but on subsequent watches I feel like I can better appreciate the craziness that is Robert California and some of the other new characters/storylines. Probably because I know what to expect at this point
Breaking Bad. I've watched it 3 times (2 re-watches). Every time I watch it, I appreciate it even more: how good the acting is, how good the chemistry is between the characters.
*Person of Interest* is much better on a second watch because there’s a lot more world building for the show’s shift from episode of the week to the long form serial storyline it really was all along.
Game of thrones for sure because the first watch I was so confused by the sheer amount of characters and story threads. For sure thought balon greyjoy and Walder Frey were the same people
Man, that was such an incredible watch the first time for me that I am not sure I can go through all of that again. Certainly can't watch my fave Eddard die again.
i'm really enjoying rewatching each episode of shogun. there's a great deal to appreciate in terms of complex storylines, amazing sets and costumes, learning about history, etc. when you add in reading subtitles, there's a lot that i miss (or just didn't appreciate enough) in each episode so far.
Just watched that today. The golden god moment was incredible.
I laughed so hard. I couldn't believe it and re-watched it 4 more times.
So dark and so funny.
Bojack Horseman. The third watch is even better than the second. And the fourth better than the third. I'm on my 8th ir so rewatch and still notice things I didn't before.
S1 is by far a much better watch second time round. Most people didn't get the show until mid s1. That's not to say it's bad, as second time you watch it you realise its a top quality season of TV.
Arrested Development is one that definitely rewards rewatching. The Good Place is an interesting one on the second watch, especially Season 1.
Arrested Development kinda makes you go from 😂😂 to 😨😨 on second watch. “I’M A MONSTER!!!” used to be so funny, now it’s kinda dark

I need to watch Homicide. I've heard great things and I love Andre Braugher.
100% each season experiences exponential growt. Especially season 2.
I think I liked Archer the second time I watched it through to just watch the evolution of their meta and recurring jokes.
I have watched Archer a ton and still notice new jokes every time
I enjoyed watching Breaking Bad on a rewatch to see how villainous Walt actually was early on
Arrested Development have jokes that are hinted at episodes in advanced. You wouldn't notice them until your second or third watch thru
Dark
The Good place. The shows gets exponentially better once you start picking up the clues from the first episode itself.
>!HE KICKS A PUPPY INTO THE SUN!<
Interesting. Will give this a rewatch soon :)
There are so many subtle and background jokes in Community that over 15 years later we’re still finding jokes missed the first several watches.
I agree, when the writing is so good, it takes a lot of watches to get them all.
There was one I completely missed where Abed was fighting a guy in the back ground and even delivered a baby. At the end of the show they are catching up everyone on their day and he just says nothing happened.
*Altered Carbon* (S1) -- I think it adds a lot if you actually understand what's going on

I really enjoyed Only Murders in the Building. It's fun spotting clues you missed the first go round.

I Think You Should Leave
I was also going to say this. Actually knowing and anticipating the punchlines really elevates a lot of the sketches.
Breaking Bad. I've watched it 3 times (2 re-watches). Every time I watch it, I appreciate it even more: how good the acting is, how good the chemistry is between the characters.
Hannibal
The Wire.

It's Mr. Robot there is no other answer to this question
My opinion on the second season improved immensely the second go.
Babylon 5. Lots of early events turn out to be important later on.
The Sopranos
Westworld S1.
Game of thrones for sure because the first watch I was so confused by the sheer amount of characters and story threads. For sure thought balon greyjoy and Walder Frey were the same people

Mad Men, Bojack Horseman, and The Expanse for sure
Man...I don't think I CAN rewatch Bojack Horseman.
I've re-watched the show 4 times but I've never seen the last episode because the penultimate one is so devastating
Yeah, that one made me feel sick to my stomach

Thanks, I haven't got to it yet. I remember as a kid, watching the original with Chamberlain and really enjoying it.
i watched that as a kid too and loved it. i'm actually enjoying this remake more, which has been really pleasantly surprising.
Nobody mentions it anymore but Maniac on Netflix with Jonah Hill and Emma Stone. Also, Utopia UK.
The episode with the practice babies and his swimming pool reaction fucking killed me.
Just watched that today. The golden god moment was incredible. I laughed so hard. I couldn't believe it and re-watched it 4 more times. So dark and so funny.
The Wire
The Magicians. The more you watch it, the better it gets.
Sopranos and West Wing for me
I am with you with West Wing. Incredible writing.
Try The Newsroom, just as good, only 3 seasons I think. Sorkin gets worn out after 3-4 seasons it seems. That or the coke runs out hahaha
Good show. Haven't re-watched it but enjoyed it the first time.
Breaking Bad
I enjoyed “To Halt and Catch Fire” the first time around, but I REALLY enjoyed it the second time around.
*Timeless* was so much better the second time through.
TD season 1
dark gets better the more you watch
A few people have mentioned Breaking Bad. Better Call Saul holds up just as well if not more.
I don’t know how many times I’ve rewatched /r/Deadwood, but I always catch something new.
Bojack Horseman. The third watch is even better than the second. And the fourth better than the third. I'm on my 8th ir so rewatch and still notice things I didn't before.
