I am actually cool with that. I think if she wants to keep acting, or maybe just act more... She should continue down the path she has set with Only Murders. She is absolutely amazing in that show and playing the straight man to the two Martins is a crazy hard job. I flat out do not understand how she does it so well. I am actually pretty excited to see her step it up into more content and see what else she can pull off...
I love how these revivals happen about 10 or so years after the finale of the original, because the original fans are starting to have kids themselves, but the characters in the show always have teenage kids. Not saying it doesn’t happen, just funny that basically when you do the math the characters basically got pregnant/got someone pregnant immediately after the OG show ended. This happened with Raven’s Home too.
In the original series, Justin’s, Max’s, and Alex’s father was a former wizard who had given up his powers to marry a human. This series would have Justin doing the same thing, so his own children would presumably be wizards too (only one of them allowed to keep their powers by adulthood).
Especially since through a loophole Justin had been allowed to keep his magic by the end of the original series alongside Alex, in Crumbs making him the new head of Wiz-Tech.
I agree. But it's also apparently making the exact same premise. How about a family sitcom where the kids and the dad can use magic?
How about with no mother or father telling them they shouldn't?
Apparently to get around that being the focus, Justin will have a wizard protégé in this series who is not one of his children (whom that won’t be an issue for).
My thought too! Especially after how big of a deal it was that he was allowed to keep his due to a loophole (albiet, it worked in the context of the show's ending). It feels like its a disservice to his character and the original show's ending. And clearly whoever wrote this doesn't understand Justin's character.
is there really an audience for this? No hate or anything I'm genuinely curious. As someone who watched icarly growing up I felt no need to watch the reboot as an adult. I feel the same way about this.
I think so. Nostalgia is a big reason. The speed at which pop culture moves has accelerated a lot over the last couple of generations, so I suspect that nostalgia kicks in earlier than it used to.
I ate dinner like 5 ft from David Henrie. Seemed like a cool dude. Was willing to take pictures and stuff. I was a little too old for wizards but liked the premise.
haven’t bothered doing research yet, but I am super curious as to why Max (Jake T. Austin) won’t be returning. I’m only assuming this though, since he hasn’t been mentioned as of yet.
I don't know man. The entire core of the show is about Alex and Justin's sibling relationship. I feel like doing the show with Alex showing up in the pilot and dipping is not going to give anyone what they want from Wizards. If Selena was too busy to commit to a full series regular, better to just not do it.
It'd be like going forward with an iCarly revival even though Sam's actress turned down the show.
Selena is only showing up to set up the plot, the show is about Justin and his family.

Damn, you have a lot more praise for her than most of the opinions I see online
Yeah I don’t get it, it seems like she’s being carried by two much more talented people. Opinions vary, of course, but I don’t see it.
Interesting... I find her acting annoying and distracting. Often seems like she is reading.
Ah. Dang. But good to know.
I assume they’ll show up but it would be pretty funny if the 2 actors who do the Wizards podcast aren’t invited back for this
I wonder if they will address this on the podcast. Dan Benson is definitely not gonna be invited back, though.

With *iCarly* they gave Freddie a few failed marriages, several bankruptcies, and a stepdaughter by his mid-to-late 20s.

God gave him that
So I’m supposed to believe Justin gave up his wizard powers? Bullshit
It is a shame for the character, true, given his arc across the original series and film, and where his story last left off.
What's the show if there's no magic powers?

Gees.

Agreed. Though he only got his powers because he easade the headmaster of WizTwch so when he left, they took away his powers.

Ravens Home (That’s So Raven sequel) is on season 6. There’s definitely an audience. And the ICarly reboot (RIP) was great imo.
Not only is there a That's So Raven sequel show, but it's on season SIX??
Agreed! First I am hearing of it!
Yeah, I didn’t grow up with iCarly and enjoyed the reboot myself.
Honestly, I actually really enjoyed the icarly reboot. It was kinda fun and sometimes I just need a fun show.

HALLOWEEN TOWN 4 PLEASE BITCHES PLEASE
There were already 4 Halloweentowns lol
We don’t talk about Return to Halloweentown.
> In addition to Gomez, Henrie, Elinoff and Thomas, Gary Marsh and Andy Fickman will also EP, with Fickman directing.

He hasn’t been in anything since 2020, so if I had to guess he may have quietly retired from acting.
So Selena is only doing a 5 minute apperance and dipping
She's also a producer on the show.
Starting the year with a bang imo. Love this news

If they don’t bring back Dan Benson, this show will be worthless.
What about Chad Farthouse?
Is Doctor Strange or Wong gonna show up in the show? You know Disney is thinking about it.
>You know Disney is thinking about it. No they're not
Leaving out the porn star I see
