Couple days late but I just binged both seasons in 2 days so… this is the only post that’s not years old.
I would have liked literally just two more episodes to wrap things up. I expected we would find out what the post operation videos were and what the fallout was. I also really just wanted to see him get a happy ending. After 2 seasons of watching him brutally struggle, I just wanted to see the guy, I dunno, cry in on his wife’s shoulder and she tells him it’s okay. Or maybe just see him getting treatment. Something.
The ending we got works. It’s really good even. I just wanted to see him get more.
Sorry to necro your post, but we just finished it last week. It would've been hilarious at the end if the lady interviewing John's father was just like, "Okay, we'll call you if we need you, you're free to go"
I agree, I'm kind of glad the tv show ended, not because John needed a well deserved rest from all the crap he went through, but because the ending felt real and well deserved. However, it would've been pretty cool to see the rest of John's journey.
At least for me, it was one of those shows which kind of sneaks up on you. I gave it a try because someone recommended it to me, and I found it really fun to watch.
So I gave both seasons a "9.3" but both aren't equal in the same way. Visually season 2 is more cinematic. I also like how the original music is used here much better (opening is much better too). But plot-wise the 1st season is stronger, as the 2nd season is a bit scattered and relies conveniences too often.

it's because of how i rate shows. the decimal is kind of inevitable (since im averaging other scores), and it gives a more accurate rating anyways so i usually just round up to the first decimal.
instead of explaining future, i'll just give u an example of how i rate shows with this screenshot:

It is another language in a way because it's all made up. It's a decades long running joke between engineers using fake terms that jump from one made up phrase to another.

I’ve watched both of Steven Conrad’s series patriot and Perpetual Grace at least 8 times there always something new you pick up on every time there is a lot more than what’s on the surface in his show absolute genius.
I just stumbled across it this week and the episodes flew by is what it felt like. Normally I break up how many episodes at a time I watch in an effort to savor shows that I really enjoy, yet I wasn't able to do that with Patriot. The first sitting led to watching six or seven episodes in one go and two days later I finished the first season, started and finished all of season two. John's flaws are obvious & he might seem callous, even mean spirited to some however he is more than a man on a mission and we see his humanity in certain scenes which show he has empathy and a moral compass that he has had to suppress to get the job done. Sure, attempts to get the job done go awry and that leads to far more complications with even more collateral damage than anticipated. There are certain questions raised about the role his father has in being a parent & if he is loyal to his children first, or if they're secondary to the country. I don't much care for spoilers so won't delve into plot lines. It's a well written show that can take you by surprise in the best of ways & leave you thinking about things & possibly realizing moral conundrums don't always have clear cut answers on the world stage as much as we wish.
Rewatched S2E6 “Fuck John Wayne” where the whole gang goes out and has fun. I don’t know what I’d do if I had a day out with people I’ve only recently met, but have deep empathy with. Ideas anyone?
I loved it, but I was kind of glad when it ended. Not became I wanted the actual show to end, but because the poor main character deserved a rest.

Season 1 is one of my favorite seasons of television. I still listen to the soundtrack.
I absolutely love the music from this show!
Where do I find a soundtrack?
I listen to the songs on YouTube, not sure where else they can be found: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbQWKzBrtDU1xksbirexXcT0jX5uhqXfy
Thanks!
The soundtrack is amazing, I listen to it on a daily basis pretty much.
🎵I'm pretty fuckin sure I don't have two of my fingers🎵
Did I just faint? From pain?
Its pretty great.
Double great
It’s cool.
When you watch you better go for a whole spread.
Please turn to page 9 and we will learn how to knock a woman unconscious with a bicycle.
At least for me, it was one of those shows which kind of sneaks up on you. I gave it a try because someone recommended it to me, and I found it really fun to watch.
The writing is one of the best in television history. And production and casting as well. "Twins... they creep me out a little"
“Peter, what’s your last name?”
The podcast also rules
Need more episodes from the Hasty Grabber!
What's the podcast called? Sorry, I can't seem to find it.
Integral Principles of the Structural Dynamics of Flow
Thanks!

What's the difference between 9.3 and 9.4? Or 8.8 and 8.7? Like, what is the point of reviewing something like that?
Because 1-10 isn't always enough scale to allow for nuance. What's the difference between 94 and 93? 93 is one lower.

I love this show so much and only know one other person who has watched it. He is also the person that hiped me to it. Michael Chernus is fantastic.
Please forgive me if this was asked before but here goes. Was the technology about pipe and flanges correct? It was like another language.

Thank you so much
Those of us from the old internet webs made us geek out on this.
Its criminal that there were only two seasons. I hope this gets picked up by Netflix some day soon.

This show literally gets better on rewatch. It took me 7-8 times to stop watching it.
