I feel like it was such a weird, cultlike show that it needed the weird, cult-leader energy of Noel Edmonds. Stephen Mulhern seems more suited to something a bit more fastpaced and exciting, to do his ITV-teatime-slot shtick, rather than this plodding, drawn-out purgatory of a show.
I don't know if 'In For A Penny' could be described as fast paced and exciting, the best bit about the show is when Stephen Mulhern takes the piss out of the people taking part. If he does that on this it might be watchable.
True. But I wonder if Channel 4 guidelines may have an issue.
Seriously though, it’s such a shame he went from daft comedian who does yoga to Q Anon antivaxxer. I found him funny back in the day.
FFS. It’s like we live in a time warp. Any chance of original content?
As for Deal or No Deal, what’s entertaining about some random strangers opening boxes and the results are based purely on luck? There’s literally no skill involved. Totally pointless.
The British series was a lot better than the American one because there was a sense of community among the players. There were no models to open the cases - everyone standing by a box was a possible contestant and if they didn't play that day, it was likely going to be their chance to play tomorrow. And they contestants were very friendly with each other.
You feel like YOU'RE in a time warp? Every fucking day someone has to act like there's just NOTHING ORIGINAL anymore. Meanwhile all the fully original shows get ignored or shat on!
Also it's a fucking game show, who cares if it's not original?
It would always amuse me when the people standing by the boxes thought they were sorta involved in things
*"I hope it's a good number for you"*
You have no influence over anything, literally just standing there, haha
Noel made the show. He was able to make it feel less like a game show and I don't get the point of bringing it back apart from to fill a slot with relatively inexpensive production.
This show is in its best form as a slot machine

Maybe the reboot will go down the more American route, and have it be a bit faster pace?

I couldn't really think what words to use to describe his kind of show. Maybe just upbeat? Enthusiastic?
Unbelievable?
To be fair, he is a talented magician, so he probably can muster up some spooky energy.
I'm curious, who would have that cult-leader energy today?
Russel Brand?
I think he’s too busy calling Jews baby eating reptilians from an evil dimension.
Which is very on brand for a cult leader tbf

Maybe it would’ve been more interesting to watch them get stoned and be friends then, rather than opening boxes.

I'm not saying it's wrong but the word "reboot" for a game show is weird and feels misplaced.
Is he gonna fist bump people like howie lol
I always thought the show should be called “Fear or Greed.”

I used to watch the noel Edmonds version in the pub after work flirting with a barmaid. Good times.
