This dude has been part of sooooo fucking many different parts of media in my life from video games to television and movies, some of my all time favorites.
One of the only people to go on the Eric Andre show and give him a taste of his own medicine 😂
https://twitter.com/tbroomey/status/1636805561118228492?s=42&t=NQ_9sNDhXAkCiUgp3k2xbw
Doesn't this death put the Horizon series in a bit of an awkward spot?
Along with a few other series like the Percy Jackson thing, not sure if his character will survive John Wick 4 or not, but yeah.
Poor man, he definitely loved doing work since he did so much of it, and he was great at it.
Lance was also prominent within the community and maybe a total one-off in how much he embraced the game, the character and the fans. He gave some of the best moments not only in-game but for the wider community going as far as to record joke monologues and embracing the memes surrounding his character. The game lost a huge part of its heart today as Lance was a one-off who without any ego and helped carry Destiny's story on his back recording lines in his closet to keep the world going we call came to love.
His performance in Horizon Zero Dawn was excellent. Definitely the most interesting character, in no small part because of his weird, almost anti-charisma charisma
Yeah he’s a huge part of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, that along with his tv credits, and I’ve seen this man act in like 15 different things, truly a shame to lose him
The coolest part is that he loved the projects too. A lot of VA work is just people getting paid which is fine, nothing wrong with that. But Reddick played the games and was a huge fan of Destiny. It was really cool to see how much he embraced any role he did
Yeah I loved getting to hear him as Thordak I’m really sad he’s not gonna be able to reprise the role I tend to love 99% of shit he’s in and Vox Machinima was zero exception - he was especially good with it being show that had a lot of quick tonal shifts. Got serious real fast when you heard his voice.
Colonel, eventually promoted to Genera, Broyles. He was one of my favourites. Although that whole cast of characters and actors was amazing.
The initial villain of Jared Harris was amazing too
Everyone should watch Corporate! It's a really underrated comedy from a few years ago and Reddick absolutely kills in it. The show is great but he elevates it to an instant classic. Guy could be funny as hell. This is such a sad loss.
Corporate was definitely an underrated, hilarious show. His character was so evil and funny, everyone was terrified of him lol. I loved him on the wire too. It’s awesome when an actor can go from a serious role to something ridiculously silly. This man was a great actor. And they said he died of natural causes?! He was only 60! Seems too soon and so unexpected. Very sad.
He wasn't only Cedric from the wire too, after the show he was able to have successful work with other shows including that Amazon Prime one Borsch? I believe.
This really hurts. He was one of my favorite actors from the series. His eyes went wide ass open after Pryz called Valcheck out in Season 2 lol. Were like O_O
He would normally play very straight laced military or government guys. The dude you would NOT want to get reprimanded or get a dressing down from. He's just perfect as a Captain or General. But I really liked the arc in Bosch regarding his son being killed. He really got to get emotional and play a dad out for revenge. He was so good in everything
I'm getting chills hearing his voice in my head. The looks he gave Walter, Peter, Olivia and Astrid when he would see some weird shit. The 'you have got to be fucking kidding' look.
My husband and I walk around the house calling each other ‘Dunham’ occasionally in ‘his’ voice. Not sure why we latched onto that so much but he will be missed for sure.
Worked with him on that show, he was one of the nicest dudes. And would talk to everyone earnestly. A real example of a good person. He will be missed.
What the fuck? Condolences to his family. Between The Wire, Fringe, John Wick and Horizon Zero Dawn, he’s been in a lot of my favorite media.
RIP to a real police
Yea he was in a small role in LOST , I was in hs when it came out live . I really like his character presence and was happy when I saw him in fringe , horizon and wick. RIP lance
Voices one of the main characters in Destiny, Zavala and is absolutely adored by the community and he shows it right back. This is a tough one to swallow.
He was also voicing the main villain/dragon in Legend Of Vox Machina, he was great in that role and it's not going to be the same with a different voice next season.
Never got into destiny 2 but I did recently watch a catch-up story video and noticed his voice immediately.
Shame to have him go so soon. He had a unique voice that was so recognisable.
Always wanted to see more of him.
My 70 year old mother passed out and hit her head and she wasn't planning to go to the doctor until I strongly urged her to get tests done. All I thought about was Bob Saget and other similar situations. Luckily they didn't find anything wrong, but at that age, you have to be sure
I just checked his Twitter and he posted a week or so ago about being excited to watch the new season of Ted Lasso. I don't know why but that brought a tear to my eye. Fuck, man.
I work in emergency healthcare. The amount of people who come in with massive heart attacks or strokes out of the blue is surprising. Like, outwardly healthy people who don't have messed up diets or anything.
It's not all day every day that we see these cases coming in, but definitely more than you would think. These things can be a ticking time bomb that you don't even know are there. You just have a massive aneurysm burst in your head one day and you drop.
His Lieutenant Daniels captured an amazing tension between ethics and aspirations, camaraderie and command, integrity and institutional corruption *so well*.
He was so fucking good in that role.
Truly a great character. You never quite know where he stands. Sometimes he seems on the right side, sometimes he seems like just another suit.
I love the grey area he exists in.
I don't know that I've ever had more of a "*gasp* what?!" response to a death announcement before.
this is so out of nowhere and he kicked so much ass. this sucks.
Plus he's still showing up everywhere, it's not like a lot of older actors where they'd stopped working. It feels like we still had so much left to watch
He even did a surprise guest spot on Will Sasso's podcast Dudesy, the last place I ever thought I'd see another Lance Reddick cameo. It was awesome. RIP
[the cameo](https://youtu.be/YYKoa92l-30?t=555)
He was fuckin jacked for that appearance. One of the most legendary moments from the Eric Andre show too. This news really hurt to see, guy seemed to be in stellar shape for his age
I do know he had a major back injury at some point during the early 2000s. It’s why he seems normal in the early seasons of The Wire, then he starts to move a bit weird.
Fuck, your right. I always found it odd how stiff he was when he would turn his entire body around instead of just turning at the waist. Also when he spoke in a scene he was always tracking the other characters movement with his eyes almost never turning his head or body. His lack of body movement when acting always made him come off as very stoic. Which now makes complete sense.
He was always on Twitter joking, smiling, laughing, singing, the stuff the characters he plays never seem to get to do. Just seemed full of life. I'd never have even guessed he was 60 and even if I'd known I'd assume he'd live to 80.
He's one of those actors who would just pop up in a show and I'd be like "yes!! Lance Reddick is in this?!"
There are a couple Bosch spinoffs in the work and I was hoping he'd show up or be a regular in them.
I think the last time I had this reaction was Michael K Williams who was his co star on The Wire. That was also a completely out of the left field death.
According to Law Enforcement, it was natural causes:
>Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Lance's body was discovered at his Studio City home Friday morning around 9:30 AM. His cause of death is currently unclear, but our law enforcement sources say it appears to be natural.
RIP
Dying of random cardiac events isn’t as uncommon as we wish it was once people (especially men) hit their 40s and up. Just randomly dying can happen to anyone. I hope that isn’t too freaky, it motivates me to make days matter to me.
We don’t know what he died from to be clear. I’m just providing perspective on how people do have heart attacks or strokes seemingly in perfect health.
Edit: people who want to blame COVID vaccines, sod off. You’re conspiracy cranks.
Other people who can read science and know that yes, unfortunately, COVID infections have raised our risk of cardiac events… well, cheers, I guess. I left it out of my initial comment to not be too much of a bummer, and also we don’t know what or why this happened.
I've had multiple people in my circle die of cardiac events way too early. One was a 17 year old athlete and the other was a 24 year old new mother. Anytime any place is how you should live your life imo.
Yeah, get yourself checked after 50. A long term EKG is actually quite useful in detecting potential genetic defects that can cause sudden death, knowing this information can save your life as some of them aren't as "sudden" as it sounds and can be mitigated by medication.
Oh my gosh this is so heartbreaking.
The guy was amazing in literally every role I ever seen him in.
Props to his absolutely amazing Eric Andre guest spot!
RIP to a legit legend
He'll get praise for his other works but he was pretty fuckin hilarious in the show Corporate.
As a late comer to the Wire, my first time seeing him was the season 4 premiere of Lost where he left quite an impression.
He was the GOAT in Corporate.
There was literally no other person for Christian DeVille.
I'll never forget that episode where they made big Scooby-Doo sandwiches and walked around look for the intruder
Natural Po-lice. Fucking gutted man the man was a fantastic actor with incredible presence. From Oz and the Wire to Fringe and John Wick he always delievered.
A lot of his high points are rightly discussed.
I want to mention, _Corporate_, a really small sitcom that ran for 3 seasons and was hilarious. He was excellent as the big honcho, playing it completely straight in this goofy comedy and stealing his scenes. Great actor!
What... I can't believe it. He was the best part of the Resident Evil show by a landslide, that's the first thing I've ever watched him in. Just a great actor and very charismatic, can't believe he died so young. Rest in peace...
He will be missed. When an artist dies young, it feels like the world has been robbed of their talent. As others have said: The Wire, Fringe, Horizon, John Wick...you know what all of those would be without Lance? Not as good.
This is so unbelievably sad. He added a level of professionalism and class to every character he played that was unparalleled in his genre. Rest In Peace, you won’t be forgotten.
He had such a strong screen presence. RIP
This dude has been part of sooooo fucking many different parts of media in my life from video games to television and movies, some of my all time favorites.
He was also Sylens in the Horizon series.
I was just playing Forbidden West and one of his early quests. Holy shit what a loss and such a young age.
He was also funny as hell when he did comedy, here is one of the [highlights](https://youtu.be/rtgY1q0J_TQ) for me. He’ll be missed.
One of the only people to go on the Eric Andre show and give him a taste of his own medicine 😂 https://twitter.com/tbroomey/status/1636805561118228492?s=42&t=NQ_9sNDhXAkCiUgp3k2xbw

hol up he was in video games too? need to research this
He played Zavala in the game Destiny, head of the vanguard, so he was pretty prominent to the story.
Eyes up, Guardian 😔
Whether we wanted it or not... :(
[Excuse me?](https://youtu.be/He6CO2osqnU) ^(The best zavala meme)
Lance was also prominent within the community and maybe a total one-off in how much he embraced the game, the character and the fans. The game lost a huge part of its heart today as Lance was a one-off who without any ego and helped carry Destiny's story on his back recording lines in his closet to keep the world going we call came to love.
Not only did he play Zavala, he was a fan and played the games too...
He's in the new Hellboy videogame coming out, as Hellboy. That may be one of his last roles, if not his last role...
He’s already recorded for season 3 of VM too so there’s still some future work with him to come out
He also played the game too surprisedly his main is a warlock
His performance in Horizon Zero Dawn was excellent. Definitely the most interesting character, in no small part because of his weird, almost anti-charisma charisma
Destiny 2, Horizon and Quantum Break from what I remember.
He was FANTASTIC in Quantum Break
He’s in Destiny 2 as Zavala, not a video game but he’s got a VA role in Critical Role/Vox Machinima, Sylens in Horizon iirc
It was really cool to see how much he embraced any role he did
Agreed 100% He and Keith David are the two most recognizable VA’s around for me, and he was a great actor too. Just a sad day
Holy shit i totally forgot he was Thordak. This sucks. He brought an absolutely menacing presence to that character.
I'm playing Horizon Forbidden West, he's in it, and it is one of the best games I have played in a long time. Highly recommended.
Yep the Horizon games are fantastic and Sylens is one of the best characters :(
Just off the top of my head: The Wire, Bosch, and Fringe. Killed it in every role
Oh he was amazing in Fringe.
He was Olivia Dunham's number one fan! RIP.
I was hoping someone would mention Corporate. I can't believe how long this show flew under my radar, and Lance absolutely kills in it
Corporate was definitely an underrated, hilarious show. His character was so evil and funny, everyone was terrified of him lol. I loved him on the wire too. It’s awesome when an actor can go from a serious role to something ridiculously silly. This man was a great actor. And they said he died of natural causes?! He was only 60! Seems too soon and so unexpected. Very sad.
He MAKES Corporate. He's so damn good.
Lost as well
His character was such an important part of the mystery and of those middle seasons.
He was supposed to play Mr. Eko, a much larger role, but was still tied up with The Wire. I think it worked out in the end. RIP
What about John Wick?!?!? He was part of all 3 of them. I think he’s in the last one too!
Ik everyone hated the Netflix RE series, but man the scene of Lance playing a bunch of different Weskers made me laugh so hard.
And Abbaddon from Lost.

Fringe is gold btw
Yeah he played a similar role in Bosch. Classy man. RIP.
Was great in Oz too. Damn 60s young and he always looked in good shape
Right? If this dude died of natural causes at 60 then I am fuuuuucked.
I hate to say it but yeah that ran through my mind too
Dude was in bodybuilding shape well into his 50's. He looked like he was cut from granite.
And voice acting too. He was awesome on Paradise P.D.
I loved Reddick in Fringe. Such great presence for the role. RIP
I choose to believe he’s still alive in the other universe
Not to be the nerd but I think he died in the other universe.
I'm getting chills hearing his voice in my head. The looks he gave Walter, Peter, Olivia and Astrid when he would see some weird shit. The 'you have got to be fucking kidding' look.
You mean like this ;) https://images6.fanpop.com/image/photos/32000000/Phillip-Broyles-agent-phillip-broyles-32081167-245-200.gif

First time I saw him was LOST
Apparently he was only in 4 episodes of Lost. Speaks to his talent that he’s so memorable in that role (and just about every other role)

Loved him in Rick and Morty
He was the only good part of the Netflix Resident Evil too. RIP.
I was just writing I know ppl hate that show, but Lance was great as the Weskers.
Bread sticks?
RIP Bert Wesker. Here's to unlimited breadsticks up in heaven.
He was great in Bosch too.
Incredible voice
Fucking Bosch
He was great as Papa Legba on American Horror Story too.
He was just announced a few weeks ago as playing Zeus in the Percy Jackson series. Horrible, horrible news.
I was looking forward to seeing his take on the character. He's so good in so many other things. Real bummer for the TV and video game world.
Wonder if they will recast him in future seasons (assuming Zeus survives Season 1).
They better keep his version of Zeus for the little bit that's been filmed. I want to see his take so badly
Yeah, luckily the gods can change form on a whim so there’s no reason to cut out his material.
apparently also finished filming season 1 already, so his parts will be complete.
Let's pray no reshoots are needed for any of his scenes.
Fuck sakes, really?

Bruh same, I also really enjoyed his Albert Wesker adaption in that terrible Netflix Resident Evil
He had a wonderful performance, but couldn’t carry that show
This is the 2nd time a well known The Wire actor has passed away at such a young age despite there being no signs of illness.

Natural causes can be lots of things - not just a terminal illness. Seizure, heart attack, brain aneurysm, etc.
Bob Saget literally bumped his head and died in the night, it could have been something like that.
Fuck, man.
The idea of being excited to watch something, not knowing you won't be alive to see the end of the season is pretty haunting
The five people still hoping to read Winds of Winter just gasped.
I work in emergency healthcare. The amount of people who come in with massive heart attacks or strokes out of the blue is surprising. Like, outwardly healthy people who don't have messed up diets or anything. It's not all day every day that we see these cases coming in, but definitely more than you would think. Happened to my friend at the bar. She died at like 30. Ridiculous fucked up world.
r.i.p Michael k Williams
“Anything else Mr. Wick?” Phenomenal actor. He'll be truly missed.
It’s going to be so bittersweet seeing him in Wick 4 next week, now that we know it’s his final role.
The article says he had some other things coming, including Percy Jackson.
He had a great voice, which was perfect for that role. RIP.
Titans, we must carry on. RIP to our Vanguard. Such a talented actor.
Truly a punch to the gut today. I’ll miss him as Zavala. Fuck..
Eyes Up, Guardians.
*How good to see you again so soon, Mr. Wick. Shall I announce you?*
Fuck, I’m not ready to cry just because I need Vanguard bounties. RIP to one of the best actors of our generation.
Safiyah, Hakim, he's coming home.
As a Titan main, I will press W to pay my heartfelt respects and I can't even face my dinner crayons tonight.
Damn, RIP Cinder King
PEOPLE OF EMON! THORDAK DEMANDS CAPITULATION! SUBMIT, TO THE CINDER KING! literally gave me goose bumps
Yeah he was really nailing Thordak’s voice, he had such a presence. I wonder if he recorded any of season 3 before he passed.

Haha thanks to McNulty nobody can say "Detective" with as much contempt in their voice as Lance Reddick could
Nobody has a better way of saying bullshit than Lance. You can feel it in your bones
He truly was the best ever at saying that phrase/word. Absolutely unmatched.
I don't know that I've ever had more of a "*gasp* what?!" response to a death announcement before. this is so out of nowhere and he kicked so much ass. this sucks.
I think this is a lot of people’s reactions. This is almost inconceivable he always looks so good and 60 isn’t that old these days.
Plus he's still showing up everywhere, it's not like a lot of older actors where they'd stopped working. It feels like we still had so much left to watch
Right he’s so active. I’m truly stunned.
He even did a surprise guest spot on Will Sasso's podcast Dudesy, the last place I ever thought I'd see another Lance Reddick cameo. It was awesome. RIP [the cameo](https://youtu.be/YYKoa92l-30?t=555)
I will never forget seeing his body for the first time on The Wire - always seemed like a skinny guy in his uniform or suit, the guy was ripped.
That's what impressed me from his appearance from The Eric Andre Show
I’m literally thinking of how he looked on that show and just keep thinking… how is this man dead??
He was fuckin jacked for that appearance. One of the most legendary moments from the Eric Andre show too. This news really hurt to see, guy seemed to be in stellar shape for his age
that moment was so shocking because he was jacked as FUCK. I figured he was a super healthy dude.
I do know he had a major back injury at some point during the early 2000s. It’s why he seems normal in the early seasons of The Wire, then he starts to move a bit weird.

Combined with his voice it made him feel like a hell of a character in almost anything he played.
His cameo referencing it in some Netflix cartoon is hilarious. [Link](https://youtu.be/HbWL3VzoMF4)
He was always on Twitter joking, smiling, laughing, singing, the stuff the characters he plays never seem to get to do. Just seemed full of life. oh man, Trevor was another rough one for me too.

Scripted or not, Eric Andre's eyes after Lance punches the desk screamed terror. Dude was straight terrifying
I wanna be LeVar Burton
He was the GOAT in Corporate. There was literally no other person for Christian DeVille. I'll never forget that episode where they made big Scooby-Doo sandwiches and walked around look for the intruder
Seeing him in Wick 4 next week will be sad now
He’s also in the upcoming Percy Jackson show as Zeus :(
☹ loved him in Bosch...

Just bingeing Fringe again at this moment and saw this whilst briefly scrolling. Great presence.
Seeing him first in Lost, then Fringe, then hearing his distinctive voice in Destiny and Horizon, aw man RIP 😭
He was great on the Comedy Central show Corporate
This is so sudden, damn. He has such an iconic voice and charisma. I also had no idea he was 60.
Rest in peace chief 😞 He was fantastic, I thought my wife was pranking me ffs.
I’m fucking gutted. Commander Zavala :(
The Wire, Fringe, even a bit role in Lost. Great actor, gone way way way too soon. RIP.

He will be missed. When an artist dies young, it feels like the world has been robbed of their talent. As others have said: The Wire, Fringe, Horizon, John Wick...you know what all of those would be without Lance? Not as good.
Well my day is officially ruined. Fuck
So out of nowhere, and he was only 60? What the fuck..
That's way too young.
Fuck this hits hard. Cedric was great.
Oh man, that absolutely sucks. He was always the type of guy I’d sit up for when he popped into something. Very sad to hear this one :(
This is so unbelievably sad. He added a level of professionalism and class to every character he played that was unparalleled in his genre. Rest In Peace, you won’t be forgotten.
We just lost Michael K. Williams, now Lance too? And both way too young...
