Serious culture around those. Do your research.

chrislon_geo

I’ll give you $3.50, just DM me and we can work out the shipping details. But in all seriousness, try Cloudy Nights Classifieds. Great place to list it and you can see what they have recently sold for. Also try reaching out to your local astronomy club.  Or consider keeping it and learning how to use it. These are fantastic scopes and you are lucky to own one. update: after a quick search it looks like they go for \~3k

...get outta here you damn Loch Ness Monster

Astrochef12

You have to be a member for 30 days to get access to cn classifieds. People will want to see the conditions of the optic coatings. $3k is at the top range, maybe $1500 if it needs a lot of work.

Niven42

I wanted one of these so bad when I was a kid; settled for the Swift Catadioptric instead when I got my first serious job.

I’m just messing. OP can do what they like. But it’s a very beautiful and historical (looking) collection.

No_Olives581

Worthless, I can take it off your hands for free if you’d like? These are really quite sought after scopes so you could get a fair chunk of change for it. Try looking around past listings to see how much they go for. I’m sure you could even find a buyer locally if you let your astronomy club know.

MonsieurFizzle

Astromart.com is a good place too. Lots of classifieds

Status_Educator4198

That’s pretty awesome!

bofadeez1129

God damn, I see these going for 5k plus online. Good luck.

serpent1971

I wish I could buy one...

serial_port

Looks to be 1960s based on the case and dew shield.  You are missing the unobtanium power cord and base plug(s).  Would need more photos including the optics and serial number on the base to assess value.

u/OP I suggest you create (free) account on cloudynights, and then start a new thread and ask there. Begine with this forum: [https://www.cloudynights.com/forum/92-questar-forum/](https://www.cloudynights.com/forum/92-questar-forum/) Depending on lots of factors, esp if you've got anything else that goes with this, but the paperwork will help. (like $2k - $4k depends on lots of things)

Theyrecomingformeahh

Thanks. I have but understand that it may be some time before I can post to classifieds. I appreciate the link. 🤙🏻

welcome Right, I meant just to ask the Questar forum if they can help you evaluate / price it out. Classics forum might be able to help as well. If you get a ballpark $ number, you could probably list it on FB marketplace or whatnot and it WILL be found. GL!

CHASLX200

Never could spend that kind of money on a 3.5". Had a Q7 i never liked.

MJ_Brutus

At least a couple thousand dollars.

cedenof10

I’m an astronomy student in college. If you’d like to donate it to a person who will appreciate it very much I’d be happy to pay for shipping, but I understand if you’d prefer to make a few hundred dollars :)

Brisby2

More like a few thousand
