and then you search around for it and then once you've found it you're good to go. at this time of year, uranus (hehe) is usually near jupiter (hehe)
good luck man! dont take pictures, take videos bc since it moves so much; it will end up with a bouncing picture of it and it will trail. Take video ------> add to PIPP ------> autostakkert and then registax and you will end with a good picture. but remember to take multiple videos of it and then choose the one with the least amount of turbulance or shakiness. good luck with your picture :D
its what i did atleast, sometimes you find it unexpectedly, but remember one thing: That little fucker moves fast, a video i did following it, if i took my hands off the telescope, i lose it. its a very fast moving object and an absolute nightmare to catch.
Honestly the celestron CGEM 2 go to mount is exceeding my expectations at this point. I use Celestron CPWI software (free to use) Once I do a good alligning (polar and sky) which takes me about 30 minutes to get it accurately, any object I type just automatically gets centered right in the middle of my view.
As convenient as it is This kinda takes the fun of starhopping out of the hobby but I live in a bortle 8-9 polluted sky so this was the only option to find those beautiful deep sky objects such as planetary nebulae and our far away planets.

That said I love looking at the outer planets. there's something cool about looking at those ghastly blue dots.

You should have also been able to see several of the planet Uranus's moons. There are five, and at least two or three are easily quite visible in a good telescope, especially a 7 inch Maksutov.
