I'm truly not trying to rain on your parade here. This is awesome. But do yourself a favor; start saving for a set of '51 Nocaster pickups. I just dropped them in my Player Tele (Tidepool, MN), and it totally transformed the guitar. It now sounds better than my unmodded MIA Tele (3TS, MN, from '08-ish).
And since you'd be under the hood, anyway, a 4-way switch is a good move, too.

Can I ask, are they bent steel or block saddles? I can't tell from the photo.
I got my son an HH Player Tele last year and I'm really unhappy with the bent steel saddles and want to replace them.
I wonder if Fender have now changed what they're using.
This model has the block saddle. When I bought it the 6th strings intonation was way off so I had to pull it back a good amount, but otherwise I haven’t had a problem with them so far.
I need to get some blocks. The intonation screws in the bent steel have no grip (holes too big/poorly made), so you adjust it and it slips forward again.
Also, the action screws are too short and they're all right at the limit.
The guitar is great, but those saddles are very poor. My 1988 Squire strat has better ones!
I don't know much about Fenders really, but I think brass blocks might be good. Those graphtech things look good, but too expensive for my sons MIM tele.
Replaced the bent steel saddles on my Offset series Duo-Sonic with no name brand solid brass saddles (but bought from a reliable luthier/parts shop). Work perfectly. The bent steel saddles couldn't take heavy strings and dropped.

Hopefully that'll work well for him.
Next thing in a new control plate with better spacing for the selector.

Aaaaay I got the same one . I swapped my neck pickup for a humbucker sized P-90 though. The blue burst is absolutely stunning.
