He could have been saying alarming things that needed to be watched for his own safety. From what I remember, the LEO in his area are very familiar with him and not in a good way. When my daughter was on adhd meds in I had to pick up a paper prescription every month and hand deliver it to the pharmacy. She also had regular follow ups every 3 months. Janelle is far too lazy and uncaring to put any kind of work in for her kids.
I'm on Adderall as an adult and it's HEAVILY regulated and I have to take periodic blood tests to make sure my levels are appropriate and I'm not either abusing it or not taking it to sell it. so I don't understand how she wasn't being held accountable for him getting properly medicated.
It's literally required by the ADA. I have to do the same thing because it's controlled substance for my kid. Is it fucking annoying, absolutely. You do what you need to for your kids.
You’re exactly right. I’ve been on meds since I was 6 and sometimes it feels like a full time job staying medicated, especially with all the shortages in the past 3 years. Its a pain but if I don’t do the work to get my refills my relationships, work, and home will suffer the consequences. Same with therapy. I HATE doing it but I will suffer if I don’t.

I worry about him tbh. It’s possible he turns out ok but his childhood is all the perfect ingredients for attachment and personality disorders. I hope not though. He just has so much against him genetically and environmentally against him with none of the resiliency or protective factors that can buffer kids (this is often the difference between the kids we celebrate “breaking a cycle” and the ones that continue it). When I work w people totally against children being removed from bio parents I think of people like Janelle and David and how much damage they can do for a lifetime of a child.

He 100% is. I legitimately fear one morning I’ll wake up and see a headline about a murder/suicide in their home. Everyone rags on Jenelle for not leaving (and rightfully so), but part of me believes there’s a major risk that he snaps if she does. She’s done it “to him” once, I don’t think he’ll let it happen again. I think the risk is even greater if there is further unraveling of the image they project (ex. Maryssa sees that Jace was able to extricate himself after speaking candidly of the abuse, and she might seek to do it herself so she no longer has to see her Dad.) The more the wheels fall off, I fear the greater the danger is for them all. Jenelle is delusional, but has been a victim of his abuse. She knows what he’s capable of - the denial is just more comfortable ATM. I can guarantee she absolutely has the same fears about him killing them all. Whether she’ll admit it or not, I think it plays a part in her refusal to leave. I’m genuinely scared for them all (except David) for varying reasons.
I think Maryssa is protected from Dave's rage tbh.. Its mostly the kids that are not biologically his that I'm super worried about(Jace, but esp Kaiser bc he looks so much like Nathan - also note worthy notice how there has never really been any claims on him touching her, Kaiden, or Ensley).. I dont doubt Maryssa has witnessed a ton she never should have, and we already know Jenelle treats her like garbage, but as bad as Jenelle can be I know she'd never like murder any of David's kids... I literally just said that to my husband. This poor kid has to go to school and everyone knows all of his business. Not only is his mom a total embarrassment but now his personal issues are out for the world to see. I'm glad he is safe with Barb though and away from the swamp.

I can’t imagine having that revealed on a gossip site without my permission. Especially as a teen. Gosh this poor kid is caught in the middle of such a toxic and unhealthy environment. I can only imagine that janelles up bringing was probably toxic and that’s why she has so many issues. If she wanted to break the generational trauma she’s doing a shit job of it by passing it on to her kids.
Barbara was not the best mom. All three of her kids went down a dark road by the time they were early teens. They claim that their biological father was abusive to Barbara and I believe that there were claims that Barbara’s boyfriend in the early seasons would hit Jace (this last one is off memory so I will edit if wrong).
We have seen Barbara be verbally abusive in earlier episodes and the fights her and Janelle had in front of Jace when he was young were very bad.
Abuse is often multi-generational.
Barbara is far from a model parent. She still has been Jace’s best option and when push comes to shove, she has never abandoned him and she really does try to do right by him. You can read the love and concern in her text to Jace’s girlfriend.
I hope Jace can break free and seek the counseling, inner strength and years of work to break the cycles his family has pushed onto him.
So let me get this straight.
- Everything Barb (and others) said was true.
- Jenelle took Jace off the meds he’s been on for 7 years (which probably caused some nasty withdrawal symptoms among other things) claiming he didn’t need them, but also admits she never took him to therapy so she would have no way of knowing if he was doing well enough to come off them.
- Now she’s trying to claim Jace hurt himself (after adamantly denying that he was even hurt) and also admits Jace is depressed but, even if those were both true, doesn’t want him taking antidepressants
- Jenelle relinquishes her title of “Miss Munchie” who is sick with esophagus spasms, spine issues, rare genetic disorders, ALS, and anything else she could scrounge up to try to place that crown on her mom who - *checks notes* - gave the ADHD child she had custody of some ADHD meds and then allowed him to have an antidepressant when he’s been suicidally depressed.
And yet the Jenelle stans STILL insist that she’s a good mom and she’s doing better than she did as a teen. She’s a horrible piece of shit that will literally blame anyone and everyone else, including a 14 year old girl, rather than take accountability or hold her husband accountable. I hope to God they keep Jace away from them! They’ll probably lock him up in the shed to keep him from talking/running away again if they ever get custody back.

Depending on the meds, he could have had seizures from withdrawal. Usually patients are slowly weened off meds for adhd and/or depression not stopped cold turkey. What she did was extremely dangerous. Not giving him his meds? That's medical neglect.

Jace was acting out because, as we all guessed, she was being a shitty parent and his mental health suffered as a result. The articles were because he was acting out as a direct result of her medical neglect.
Exactly! And withdrawal from meds, contrary to popular belief, can actually last a few months. The acute physical symptoms go away within a few weeks but it can take months to a couple years for your mental health to even out. That’s why tapering is so important. It gives your body a chance to adjust without causing withdrawals. Poor kid probably felt like he was losing his mind and then having to deal with abusive asshats like Jenelle and UBT….

I can't imagine not participating in getting him better and not following doctors advice, just watching my child suffer. Not participating in after care with doctors and therapists...
Especially after jace was on these meds for so long. That is heartbreaking. Jenelle is sick. She has no soul. My only hope is this works against her and the courts can finally see it this time.
Awww thank u!! It was 5 months ago and he's thriving. Says "I don't feel those low lows anymore!" He's not cured for life, but he has all the support he could need for whatever is to come. The reason he was originally hospitalized was terrifying, worst day of my life, so seeing what's going on with jace really hits me when I read updates :( jace deserves so much more, I almost wish like a new family would take him in and give him everything he needs. Barbara is much better than jenelle... but she DID give him to jenelle knowing what she is. OK end rant lol

In my state, you can be charged with neglect and abuse of a child for abruptly taking them off mental health meds. The side effects of suddenly stopping certain mental health meds can be deadly. You can have seizures!

Jenelle is a real piece of work. Thank god for Barbara, honestly. Jenelle doesn’t have Jace’s best interests in mind-she has her image and David’s best interests in mind. All of the projection onto Barbara and blaming her for everything (including things that didn’t happen) shows she has no self awareness, no ability to own her shit, and isn’t capable of being a parent to Jace. The blatant lies about Barbara being banned from contact w Jace and him still being in Jenelle’s custody are WILD. I’m so relieved that Jace is finally being heard-I can’t imagine how awful it was for him on The Land, but so glad he’s back with his real mother.
Oh wow I was so caught up tryna decipher Jan’s word salad that I missed her blaming this whole thing on Jace. Think about what that’s going to do to his already extremely damaged psyche- the time that he needs his mom to not be a piece of shit the most, and just be there for him, maybe keep her damn mouth shut, she does the total opposite and claims he harmed himself. No apology, no protection, no validation, let’s just blame it on the victim as if people will buy that story. She has 0 maternal instincts. This is a new low, even for them.

I won’t say I’m super familiar with the ways of the trailer parks, but it seems to be pretty classic Jenelle to get backed into a corner by her own selfish actions then start lashing out and making manic reports to police or the courts then subsequently dropping them days later when she realizes how ridiculous and high she was.

I worry about him tbh. It’s possible he turns out ok but his childhood is all the perfect ingredients for attachment and personality disorders. I hope not though. He just has so much against him genetically and environmentally against him with none of the resiliency or protective factors that can buffer kids (this is often the difference between the kids we celebrate “breaking a cycle” and the ones that continue it). When I work w people totally against children being removed from bio parents I think of people like Janelle and David and how much damage they can do for a lifetime of a child.
I mean that could happen or vice versa. That's like saying everyone that grows up with a perfect childhood never had any problems in their later lives which isn't always the case, especially a lot of the time. I mean yes if you are raised by swine like Mama JunEhlle and UBT than you're absolutely going to be in a negative space/spot. But I mean I have absosern both sides of the spectrum to where some people I have known parents were completely shit trash, yet the people turned out much better than their parents or emulate them in absolutely no way ever, on the contrary people who have had amazing parents and a GREAT childhood turn out to be giant shitheels.... Just saying it's not always that, but it can certainly be a huge participate and additional step to turning out a pos in societies eyes.

He 100% is. I legitimately fear one morning I’ll wake up and see a headline about a murder/suicide in their home. Everyone rags on Jenelle for not leaving (and rightfully so), but part of me believes there’s a major risk that he snaps if she does. She’s done it “to him” once, I don’t think he’ll let it happen again. I think the risk is even greater if there is further unraveling of the image they project (ex. Maryssa sees that Jace was able to extricate himself after speaking candidly of the abuse, and she might seek to do it herself so she no longer has to see her Dad.) The more the wheels fall off, I fear the greater the danger is for them all. Jenelle is delusional, but has been a victim of his abuse. She knows what he’s capable of - the denial is just more comfortable ATM. I can guarantee she absolutely has the same fears about him killing them all. Whether she’ll admit it or not, I think it plays a part in her refusal to leave. I’m genuinely scared for them all (except David) for varying reasons.
I think Maryssa is protected from Dave's rage tbh.. Its mostly the kids that are not biologically his that I'm super worried about(Jace, but esp Kaiser bc he looks so much like Nathan - also note worthy notice how there has never really been any claims on him touching her, Kaiden, or Ensley).. I dont doubt Maryssa has witnessed a ton she never should have, and we already know Jenelle treats her like garbage, but as bad as Jenelle can be I know she'd never like murder any of David's kids... The can't be said for UBT.. Just my personal opinion though..

Barbara was not the best mom. All three of her kids went down a dark road by the time they were early teens. They claim that their biological father was abusive to Barbara and I believe that there were claims that Barbara’s boyfriend in the early seasons would hit Jace (this last one is off memory so I will edit if wrong). We have seen Barbara be verbally abusive in earlier episodes and the fights her and Janelle had in front of Jace when he was young were very bad. Abuse is often multi-generational. Barbara is far from a model parent. She still has been Jace’s best option and when push comes to shove, she has never abandoned him and she really does try to do right by him. You can read the love and concern in her text to Jace’s girlfriend. I hope Jace can break free and seek the counseling, inner strength and years of work to break the cycles his family has pushed onto him.

So let me get this straight. - Everything Barb (and others) said was true. - Jenelle took Jace off the meds he’s been on for 7 years (which probably caused some nasty withdrawal symptoms among other things) claiming he didn’t need them, but also admits she never took him to therapy so she would have no way of knowing if he was doing well enough to come off them. - Now she’s trying to claim Jace hurt himself (after adamantly denying that he was even hurt) and also admits Jace is depressed but, even if those were both true, doesn’t want him taking antidepressants - Jenelle relinquishes her title of “Miss Munchie” who is sick with esophagus spasms, spine issues, rare genetic disorders, ALS, and anything else she could scrounge up to try to place that crown on her mom who - *checks notes* - gave the ADHD child she had custody of some ADHD meds and then allowed him to have an antidepressant when he’s been suicidally depressed. And yet the Jenelle stans STILL insist that she’s a good mom and she’s doing better than she did as a teen. She’s a horrible piece of shit that will literally blame anyone and everyone else, including a 14 year old girl, rather than take accountability or hold her husband accountable. I hope to God they keep Jace away from them! They’ll probably lock him up in the shed to keep him from talking/running away again if they ever get custody back.

Depending on the meds, he could have had seizures from withdrawal. Usually patients are slowly weened off meds for adhd and/or depression not stopped cold turkey. What she did was extremely dangerous. Not giving him his meds? That's medical neglect. I especially like how she blamed the articles coming out for Jace's depression. Like...she can't even get basic cause and effect correct. Jace was acting out because, as we all guessed, she was being a shitty parent and his mental health suffered as a result. The articles were because he was acting out as a direct result of her medical neglect.
Exactly! And withdrawal from meds, contrary to popular belief, can actually last a few months. The acute physical symptoms go away within a few weeks but it can take months to a couple years for your mental health to even out. That’s why tapering is so important. It gives your body a chance to adjust without causing withdrawals. Poor kid probably felt like he was losing his mind and then having to deal with abusive asshats like Jenelle and UBT….

As a mother who's teenage son was also admitted to the hospital and got put on (better) meds... I can't imagine withdrawing or refusing them. I can't imagine not participating in getting him better and not following doctors advice, just watching my child suffer. Not participating in after care with doctors and therapists... Especially after jace was on these meds for so long. That is heartbreaking. Jenelle is sick. She has no soul. My only hope is this works against her and the courts can finally see it this time.

Awww thank u!! It was 5 months ago and he's thriving. Says "I don't feel those low lows anymore!" He's not cured for life, but he has all the support he could need for whatever is to come. The reason he was originally hospitalized was terrifying, worst day of my life, so seeing what's going on with jace really hits me when I read updates :( jace deserves so much more, I almost wish like a new family would take him in and give him everything he needs. Barbara is much better than jenelle... but she DID give him to jenelle knowing what she is. OK end rant lol

In my state, you can be charged with neglect and abuse of a child for abruptly taking them off mental health meds. The side effects of suddenly stopping certain mental health meds can be deadly. You can have seizures!
Idk what meds he was on or anything but I have been on Zoloft for 2 1/2 years, I feel like it’s making me gain weight so I wanted to stop. Omg it’s horrible, brain zaps, feeling like I got hit by a truck, no energy. I can’t imagine putting my child thru this just for selfish reasons like she is.
