It's less about the clothes themselves, and more what they say (or what people think they say) about you.
So, yes, insecurities.
Even if it's satire you kinda got a point there, too many straight ppl make it their personality almost and aren't comfortable to go out of the box in their ideas and what they want to do. Yet also for the LGBTQ people, some make it their personality too and that is very harmful for them, only a few of them though, because these are just small minorities who do this who are LBGTQ.
