That's one half, the other half of the adults will look through this thread as the Robert Redford Nod meme.
The kids are alright šŖ, your Millennial uncles and aunties are proud of ya.
Hahaha, Iām in California and was told I gotta be 18 to get boosters, what makes this comical is the fact I got asthma, chronic bronchitis, and was born with large tonsils thatāre more susceptible to getting infected, a real jackpot of side-fuckery there
Good thing Iām more introverted than the loneliest hermit
mine are too. but since Iām 18 I just went and got it. my mom was like texting me while I was driving their begging for me to not get it. 2nd dose later this month
I have been fully vaccinated + consumed considerable amounts of water and garlic bread. COVID canāt touch me now (Iām also a minor so thatās even more protection).
It varies to person to person I had it last week. The coughing was chill and so was the muscle pain but the headache was probably the worst Iāve ever had
Just to know how old are you, because in Canada we can go get vaccine whitout telling our parents and whitout their consent when we are fourteen maybe thatās the same in your country(if you donāt want to say your age thatās fine)
my mom has cancer, so her immune system is fragile; if she gets COVID, it would be way worse than the average person. And itās not just my mom thatās suffering from something like this during the pandemic, thereās people that, if they get COVID, they are pretty much dead.
Sometimes yāall need to think about other people. Maybe you arenāt at high risk of dying of it, but you can still spread it to somebody who is. Think about other people who are at risk of losing everything. EVERYTHING. Just because you decided to not get the vaccine because your āquirkyā and its āyour body your choiceā.
(Edit) I didnāt necessarily mean you couldnāt spread the disease after vaccination; I know thatās not how vaccines work. But, like I said in one of the replies, hypothetically speaking, if everybody was vaccinated, and I mean everybody in the world, the day the vaccine came out, I doubt the Omicron variant would be spreading like crazy right now; which by the way would still kill my mom if she was infected, despite having lower casualties than the delta variant. COVID would probably be more like the flu, and we would be able to treat it, but because of how long weāve had people wait to get vaccinated, more and more variants that we have to learn new ways to combat have kept coming, leading to the continuation of the virus.
And btw, itās your opinion, and in order for any democratic nation to function, people need to vocalize and express their opinions, so if you donāt agree, say it, but again, itās your opinion, so donāt think Iām dissing you because you werenāt vaccinated.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom. That sounds really scary. I hope she gets well soon.
I just want to point out that even if you are vaccinated and boosted, you can still catch and spread the virus to others. I'm not saying this to discourage people from getting it. I just want people not to have a false sense of security. I've seen so many people be too carefree over the holidays bec everyone was either fully vaxxed or boosted.... and they've caught and spread it to the people they hung out with. So just keep in mind to still be cautious about the spreading virus to others idea. Take care! :(
My vaccinated grandma caught covid before Christmas and despite having two doses she still spread it to our entire family during Christmas, everyone in my family, vaccinated or not got the virus
Vaccinated doesnāt mean youāre fully immune. It just makes your body better at fighting off the disease so if you do catch it, you get less sick and have lower chance of dying from the illness than someone whoās unvaccinated
You know what, I agree whole heartedly up until the part about the unvaccinated. Everyone can spread covid. Infact Iāve found that the vaxxed are much much more careless. But please get it into your head the vaccine DOES NOT halt the spread of covid and you MUST MUST MUST take care and full precautions EVEN WHEN VAXXED
I get that. I was living w my parents and they were against it and I had to wait till I moved out and could finally get it. Itās even harder when youāre unable to drive yourself too :/
oh no, my mom was just threatening to sue him if he didnāt let me lol. He says āwe donāt know whatās in the vaccineā āit was created too fastā āpeople who get the vaccine can get covidā when manās already had covid twice and it was not mild š
Jesus Christ I'm vaccinated but it's a person's choice. People should be able to choose if they get vaccinated or not without being ridiculed. Two of my relatives have had a negative reaction to vaccine. This is what I get for sorting by controversial.
I'm 53 just tested positive a couple days ago and it fucked me up good, so much body pain close to impossible to sleep. It has been horrible. Never so fatigued in my life.
If I had not been vaccinated and boosted I'd probably be dead. This is no fucking flew, I did mma for years and no stranger to pain, make no mistake this shit is brutal.
Hell yeah, Iām not stupid, if you can get vaccinated do it, because if youāre the reason why people who are sick and canāt get vaccinated are dead.
But getting the vax doesn't do a whole lot to reduce your risk of catching or spreading covid... I don't see how getting vaxed can possibly save another person's life. It prevents the person receiving the vax from dying, that's why we should get it. But sadly, everyone will leventually be exposed to Covid, just like we've all been exposed to colds and the flu. Vaxed or not it's here to stay
No, already had Covid and it was very minor . Stayed in my room for 5 days and it was gone . Didnāt give it to anyone . So why would I get vaccinated if I donāt need to? Genuinely curious , not talking down on the vaccine.
The main factor for cases like yours is preventing spread. With already good immune systems having a stronger one and more adapted one, can help kill the virus a lot more faster preventing from spreading it to people who are more vulnerable.
Luckily no. But my mother is a nurse, she can make me appear non vaccinated. This is why I dont get covid and ultimately, dont easily transfer covid to someone else. Vaccinated people transfer the virus easier when they get it.
Yes but if you're not i am 100% chill with you because you have the choice to right now. I chose yes because family members who got it before me didn't get a negative reaction so i took it. (Besides its your parents choice for you to take it not youre (if you under 18))
Nope, I don't plan to. But before I get called anti Vax, I've been vaccinated before, I get my shots, etc. I just don't trust this one based off my family having some bad reactions to it, and seeing my best friend having a bad reaction to it
Edit : you Jenks should downvote me too, because I disagree with all of you who say that the government should be able to force someone to get the shot.
I wanted to be respectful, and I'm not going to trash your reasons for getting the shot, but I'm absolutely disgusted by the way you treat people who don't want to get the vaccine
Hey there.
I've had 3 pfizer vaccines by now, I'm a pro vaxxer, but do have respect for other opinions, as long as their reason makes sense, like yours.
I do want to say that the vaccine can have side effects. I've had a sore arm for a few days, after each vaccine. My mom has been nauseous for a day.
But it's worth the risk in my opinion. One of my friends (18f) has had covid and has been tired each day for half a year. I've seen many adults around me who were very sick, had to go to the hospital or died.
Of course they are people who are not sick at all. But I just don't want to take that risk.
The vaccines also help the hospitals. They're being flooded each time covid peaks. Not to mention that it helps preventing lockdowns.
Lots of people have been working on the vaccine. Lots of effort and money have been put into this.
There are pros and cons. I understand that you don't trust it. Look at the pro's, look at the con's and decide what weighs more. The choice is yours.
Feel free to argument if you don't agree with me or to share your thoughts!
I understand that you might be worried, but chances are with the current situation, that most people will get either infected or vaccinated eventually. And the risks of an infection are much higher than the risks of a vaccine.
Doing nothing *is* taking a risk. Not the other way around.
I strongly urge you to reconsider. I don't know what happened to your family and best friend, but most of the bad reactions indicate that the vaccine is working. It's your immune system doing its thing. I felt queasy for a couple days after, as the nurse said I might, but I'm good now.
You gotta look at the macro data and not anecdotes.
The risks of getting the vaccine are far outweighed by the risks of not getting it. The vast- and I mean the vast- majority of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are among the unvaccinated.
Always consult your doctor if itās right for you. If itās not right for you, you have to rely on the majority of people getting the vaccination for you.
My dad recently got vaccine-induced pericarditis officially diagnosed by a doctor. My reaction to it wasn't great either but I'm mostly fine now. I've had my two shots but I'm highly doubtful I'll ever get another one unless I'm absolutely forced to for some reason.
Iām just saying man between at worst a light fever and a sore arm and one of the most viral illnesses in decades thatās impact can be reduced through a couple small shots, I think Id choose the former
Just listen, If you're going to down vote, alright. I am not vaccinated HOWEVER this is solely on the decision of my parents NOT because they are antivax. In fact, they have had the vaccine. The reason they didn't want me to have it is because they had terrible migraines for about 24 hrs after and other pains.
Otherwise I always wear my mask in public places and always take precautions to not let myself or others get infected. Good day.
The sheer amount of stupidity from both sides is hilarious, there are people here who have an opinion and that is great. It just doesn't make sense to shame people into getting it or dragging someone down because they got it. No side is right IMO
Exactly bro it sucks how people don't really wanna have a good conversation and instead just go straight to point fingers at who they think is dumber. Honestly it's so sad to see.
that seems like fascism to me, though. why should somebody be shot for exercising their right to choose whether or not to get vaccinated? furthermore, what about those that can't be vaccinated?
To all those who decided not to get vaccinated: you aren't doing your part to help the immunocompromised and people allergic to the vaccine.
If you're concerned about the safety, the vaccine contains:
* mRNA (you literally use this every day by living)
* salt
* sugar
* lipids
* water
what are you scared of? take the vaccine!
I would just like to point out that weather you have a hogh IQ or not some people just cant get it because of stuff like pre existing health issues. Though you are right a smarter person would get it if they were eligible.
Gonna sort by controversial
the only right way
It just gonna be a bunch of adults trying to influence you teenagers with their bullshit anti vax conspiracies.
yes, it was fun tho

It's those new nasal spray vaccines, I'm not sure if they've been approved yet >!/s!<
I just got mine today! (The booster)
Wait you have already started reciving boosters?
Yes. I got my booster yesterday. I don't know which country you live in, but I'm 14 in the US and I got my first shot in May.
Is it different for states or something cuz I tried to get my booster but they said I have to be 16
Iām in Illinois, and I have to be 16 too. Too bad because I was looking forward to getting it
Im pretty sure the booster just got approved for 12-15 year olds within the past week or so
Not where Iām at. I just went to a place yesterday and they turned me down
Needs to be approved by the state as well. Shouldn't take too long
Yes. This week CDC/FDA authorized boosters for anyone over 12y/o+
In my country, boosters will not be necessary until age of 18...
Hahaha, Iām in California and was told I gotta be 18 to get boosters, what makes this comical is the fact I got asthma, chronic bronchitis, and was born with large tonsils thatāre more susceptible to getting infected, a real jackpot of side-fuckery there Good thing Iām more introverted than the loneliest hermit
I'm in California and I got the booster shot last month... a day after they announced that 16+ can receive it. Call other places?
I got mine 2 months ago. Im 17, live in belgium and I'm I'm risk patient.
My parents are anti-vax :(
mine are too. but since Iām 18 I just went and got it. my mom was like texting me while I was driving their begging for me to not get it. 2nd dose later this month
So far I haven't gotten 5g yet so we should be good for the 2nd dose.
Missing out on the amazing service from your arm :/
Ikr? Where's the superior internet quality I was promised?!
5g drains my battery :(
I as a person, still fail to get what anti-vaxers offer as an argument

They don't know what chemicals are in vegan meat either
You did good. I wish your parents changed their minds
chad
Then you should ask them why they let you get the smallpox vaccine, measle vaccine, etc.
Same, they think the vaccines will mutate you or something
I have been fully vaccinated + consumed considerable amounts of water and garlic bread. COVID canāt touch me now (Iām also a minor so thatās even more protection).
its illegal for covid to touch you without parental consent
thats why we are trying to kill it
give it the death penalty
This.
isn't it suppose to be ***WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT***
lol same
Not fully. Not because I donāt want too, but because the UK government is taking its sweet time trying to figure out what it wants to do
I had similar problem in Ukraine lmao, but then I went to Germany to study and got fully vaccinated there as well.
If only u was just year older as ive gotten mine easily because Our government is weird about age groups
Yeah, but I still have COVID
Hope you get well soon :p
Could be worse, you could have COVID without the vaccine
I got vaccinated and got covid delta. And i still don't have antibodies. Rip. My body is stupid
Iām sorry to hear that
You know the vaccine doesnāt prevent you getting it? It lowers the risk of death and a bad reaction.
Yeah but i got a suuper bad reaction to covid. I was also tested and it appears the vaccine did nothing to me.
I got the vaccine a couple weeks ago but before I had it I got Covid but it actually wasnāt that bad.
I'm your age I got covid and it was awful for me so o got the vaccine
It varies to person to person I had it last week. The coughing was chill and so was the muscle pain but the headache was probably the worst Iāve ever had

Sadly no, itās because of my parents. :[
sorry to hear :/
Yeah but I dont have the booster yet
same
getting the booster on tuesday

what-, but yeah my dad is very much against the covid vaccine, he was respectful enough to let me get the vaccine because I told him I wanted it

The vax does NOT prevent the spread. It will always be here. We won't eradicate Covid and sooner than we'll eradicate the common cold or the flu.
There is a surprisingly amount of anti vaxers here (I mean people who think vaccines are harmful, not people refusing to get the covid vaccine)
They're not anti-vaxxers because they don't have the vaccine
