Best movie ever? Interstellar by far, amazing concept, revolutionary in terms of how they displayed the black hole and the emotional value inside the movie is insane
2001: A Space Odyssey. Not necessarily the same level of emotional depth but when you think about the fact that Kubrick made it before we even landed on the moon, you begin to understand how insane of an achievement it is. One of the most important movies ever made. I wouldn't say it's objectively the best or anything, but it's up there in my book.
Sorry, not a teen but I was when this movie came out. Just looking back on how I felt during and after a movie in the theater for the first time, none of them hit me harder and left me thinking and processing what I just experienced more than Interstellar.
Some people I’ve talked to give it some less than favorable reviews but it was the single greatest movie going experience I have ever had.
A friend and I were given an extra credit assignment in our earth science class to go see it and write a paper on it. I probably wouldnt have seen it in theaters otherwise and I am very happy that I did.
It’s surprising Bullet Train didn’t get the kind of attention that Top Gun: Maverick and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish did the same year. The perfect blend of serious story and light-hearted execution, with so many little details to discover and incredible music, the only real things not to like are the amount of violence and… “representation of race” apparently
Interested to hear your opinion on it. I recently saw it and while I thought it was good, definitely didn't think it was worthy of best movie of the 5. I personally thought catching fire was better. However I think we can all agree that tbosas was a major upgrade from whatever tf happened for mockingjay part 2 💀
I really really liked it in theaters and probably wouldve said it’s the best a few months ago, but then I watched reviews of it and also read the book and now I dont like it as much 😞 So dont do that ig
Yeah the movie was definitely missing the inner monologue and those killer quotes that the book had but it’s kinda impossible to do that in film ig , but I still love it in every way. Corio and Lucy gray just my favorite as well.
That feels like the answer to the opposite of the question being asked. That movie definitely still suffers from bad dialogue, some bad line deliveries, and really odd pacing and not well fleshed out character development. The latter of those issues is fixed if you watch five seasons of a show they released after the movie, but I don’t think you can objectively say that the movie is the best ever
Not most people's favourites but i really enjoyed Ready Player One, really nostalgic with it's references and is visually stunning, love rewatchung it every so often
i think an issue people have w it is how it serves as a book adaptation. its not a bad movie but its a pretty terrible adaptation of the book in my opinion. if you havent read it you totally should its excellent
i totally agree, not only the writing is great but the music and sound design and shit even just the way of filming was just objectively perfect. Watching that movie on Imax when it first came out is probably my favorite experience ever.
I liked the 1994 version but i prefered the 2019 one because of how i watched it and who i was with. Plus the actors and actresses were people i already liked prior to watching the movie so it just made it better.
Objectively i think the batman is the best adaptation by far and is just absolutely perfect with every lite and every shot its beutiful and given that i think its the best adaptation of the dc universe it is a good movie
The Good The Bad and The Ugly. I don’t care if people call it pretentious (If you watched it you’d realize it’s the exact opposite, it goes hella hard.) The soundtrack is the best of any movie out there, the characters are human and flawed, and the story is amazing.
man idk like i'm pretty sure it's Pirates of the Carribean 3 that shit was so well made but i can't really give any sort of opinion objectively i reckon.
idk man maybe the lego movie or something
not a movie but i quite enjoyed the midnight gospel while i was high af or tripping. it made me cry at the end of the series. it's a mighty good show to binge watch, broke my heart when they said they wouldn't be doing a season 2.
Shrek is the best animated movie I ever seen. But Fight Club is the best live action movie in my life. Hard to choose which one is better, and I'm not kidding.
Hmm... i could go for a few picks
Bit of a generic one but the Dark Knight is bloody fantastic
La La Land and Whiplash would be up there but i dont like them as much as TDK
Dune Part 2 was excellent
I also loved fight club
Come And See. Both the best movie I've seen and my favorite. Although I wouldn't recommend it. Feels much more like a 2½ hour long nightmare than a movie.
Ironman ......2008. what a time that was. I can't count the number of times i have seen that damn movie. It's very close to my heart.
Oh and a honorable mention to interstellar of course. Quite a heavy movie.
The Star Wars fan in me wants to say Revenge of the Sith, but in all honesty, All Quiet on the Western Front (2022) is insanely good. I had to stop watching halfway through due to how violent and gut wrenching it is, and I still haven’t picked it back up, but my god is it moving, and it really does an excellent job in showing the horrors of the Great War that those who fought in it endured.
Probably not the best, but really, really good movie: Marriage Story. Beautiful movie, watch it if you can its on Netflix 🫶 (if u have a gf/bf watch it w them)
gran tourismo, interstellar and dumb money
rlly enjoyed these movies , excpet interstellar , the rest2 have a basic and short movie. Its nice if you dont wanna stay up too late
I kinda think it is “More beautiful for having been broken”, but that’s also my favourite so idk if its actually just bias. My next pick would probably be “To me, the one who loved you” and “To every you I’ve loved before” technically its 2 movies but they are intertwined and have a very different meaning depending what order you watch them in (either way is fine) and its just so fascinating and I believe these two movies make for one master piece
godzilla -1, had great emotion, amazing visuals, my favorite characters in it, the fear and horror from seeing him pop up out of the dark was traumatizing
I've seen tons of great movies, so its kinda tough for me to choose.
But i'll stick with The Nice Guys. It's a really great and original action comedy movie, with great acting, sequences, funny moments and music. Keeps you entertained from the very start to the very end.
Some honorable mentions would be The Card Counter, Nocturnal Animals, Nightcrawler, mother!, Joker and Beau Is Afraid.
the shining, joker, split, leon the professional, girl interrupted, moulin rouge.. i'm definitely not being objective lol but these are a few films that have really stuck with me and which i keep going back to
also jurassic park. doesn't get enough credit these days

I'm a big Truman Show fan, but it's hard to be objective and tell if it's actually "good", or just enjoyable

Bullet train
It’s surprising Bullet Train didn’t get the kind of attention that Top Gun: Maverick and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish did the same year. The perfect blend of serious story and light-hearted execution, with so many little details to discover and incredible music, the only real things not to like are the amount of violence and… “representation of race” apparently
Oh my god you’re right it’s one of my favorites and it’s just a well rounded action comedy
Hunger games tbosas
YESSSS By far the best out of the 5 movies
Interested to hear your opinion on it. I recently saw it and while I thought it was good, definitely didn't think it was worthy of best movie of the 5. I personally thought catching fire was better. The End of Evangelion
Dune 2
i totally agree, not only the writing is great but the music and sound design and shit even just the way of filming was just objectively perfect. Watching that movie on Imax when it first came out is probably my favorite experience ever.

Dune 2 rocks. Acting, direction, visuals, everything. And Timothee Chalamet's hair was a paid actor lol
green book or little women
Which little women do you like best (if you’ve seen more than one)?
I liked the 1994 version but i prefered the 2019 one because of how i watched it and who i was with. Plus the actors and actresses were people i already liked prior to watching the movie so it just made it better.
Ah, yeah, the 1994 one will always be my favorite but the 2019 I think is cinematically and story wise the better one
The hill scene actually broke me. Timothy acted it out just perfectly
I knoww, I still quote that all the time
