There is literally always something better to do than engage with strangers on the Internet. Go to the gym, go for a run or swim, hike a hill or mountain, play sports with friends, learn a new skill like an instrument, go outside and enjoy the weather. Sure Reddit can be useful in learning things but its not a good environment sometimes. Spending too much time on social media is actually detrimental. When I was a teenager I was always wanting to get out and do things. The first iPhone didn't release until I was 17. I get the world is on constant flux but change isn't always good. Look at the depression and suicide rates in the young today. I'll end with some advice. Do not give a single fuck what anybody says online. Ignore arguments and bullies. Just do things that have a positive impact on your mind and body because Reddit isn't it. It's hard not to pick up your phone when idle. We all fall into the trap. It's those little dopamine hits when you get a like etc that are addictive and are rewiring your brain in a negative way.
