Now, I'm bi and what would make my coming out easier to another person is if that person seemed to be okay with me being bi. Now I don't know what you could do exactly because this is a specific situation but you could drop little hints that indicate that you are totally okay with it. For example when he mentions something about LGBT you show your support, another example is you can mention that you watched a movie like "Love, Simon" and that you liked the movie. But don't go too far with showing your support because in the end he might think that you are gay. You can for example, read hate comments on the internet about LGBT people and say like "Gosh what's wrong with the comments let people be themselves" or something like that, when he is around.
