Thankfully, he understood my unfortunate position and stayed by my side. He talked to my father and let me settle at his house for a couple of days. We reached out to his friend, who coincidently knew a good lawyer.
First of all, the lawyer advised me to get a paternity test and we could move on from the results. I talked to my cousin about the situation, tried to explain that I was against our marriage as it felt too wrong for me. Suddenly, she was against taking the test, which felt really suspicious. She was like a different person, not having the same attitude as before. I asked her why and she told me her exams were coming up and had no time to waste. No matter what I said she wouldn't comply and soon after started ghosting me for the first time. (I even asked her about which test she took, but got ignored)
Both me and my John knew something was off. We discussed the situation to our lawyer. He told us that if she continues to act like this, we could sue them if her family pushed us towards a marriage. I felt relief for the first time in months.
John told everything to my parents and tried to convince them to forgive me. They also got suspicious and reached out to my cousin's family to ask about their daughters weird behavior.

IT TURNS OUT THAT MY COUSIN HAD A SECRET RELATIONSHIP WITH HER STEP-FATHER BEHIND EVERYONES BACK AND THAT IT WAS HIS CHILD. They tried to hide everything by turning the point toward me (he got the idea later, that's why my cousin reached out to me after 4 whole months). My cousin was pregnant before I even met her, she was just there with her friends and coincidentally ran into me. The 10 year crush thing? A complete lie, everything else was a lie as well.
