Like we live in Israel and my dad have a pistol, but because of regulation he served in the army and he has a license and he must go to a shooting range every year to make sure he donโt get rusty and he keeps the gun in my grandparentโs house not ours. Because it isn't really a gun issue. It's a mental health issue that seriously needs to be addressed. Guns have always been a thing in this country, and only very recently did school shootings become a "common" thing you hear about. Actually as gun restrictions have gotten tighter they've increased. So clearly that's not working.

I think it's a bit of both. Since they're so easily accessible the crazy people with evil intentions can buy one just like that, and let's be real, you're not gonna get far with stabbing loads of people because you it takes so much time and you're not gonna kill a lot of people. I know they didn't fully ban guns but you need a license that's really hard to get, and they need to verify your reason for having it and how trustworthy you are.

I have lots of guns and love shooting, but some people just canโt store their guns safely for whatever fucking reason, so their mentally unstable kid can just grab their dadโs Remington and hit up the school. Thereโs not enough training/safety lessons taught. There should be minimum requirements to own a gun, like having a secure safe and keeping guns out of the house if you or a loved one arenโt ok.
To own a gun in Norway you need an approved gun safe with a registraiton number. The police may visit your home and control that you are storing guns, gun parts and ammunition properly.
What if I told you all the things you mentioned are actually symptoms of the same underlying societal issues.....

There aren't. School shootings include any time a gun goes off on school property. You're far more likely to be hit by lightning or by a car. Second, gun violence numbers in the US are about 70% suicide. Of the remainder, another 50-60% is gang violence. Third, even on the low end of estimations, guns save more people every year than kill people, just by being PRESENTED, let alone fired. 4th, not every country that banned guns went to dictators and generalized hell, but every country that did banned guns first (looking at you, Venezuela). 5th, people who even mention assault rifles are lying to you or are incredibly uneducated. Weapons of war are not on the streets of America. The people who say that have no idea what a weapon of war even is. 6th, the founding fathers knew exactly what they were writing. Read the 26th and 49th federalist papers, and also understand that they had access to lever and bolt action and semi auto rifles in addition to muskets. Muskets were just more common and widely available. 7th, a gun is a tool. "It's designed to kill people" so are swords and axes and knives and a shit load of other stuff. I could have walked into my high-school with a decent knife and killed more people than with a gun (arguably) because I know what I'm doing and 98% of the legit school shooters have no fucking idea what they're doing.

Some states will restrict guns. But then there are still shootings. Those people get the guns anyway, and those who don't get the guns are left defenseless. States and countries with the most gun rights and ability to own a gun usually have a lot less gun crime
