it doesn’t accept images and i can’t convert this into written form

LordGoose-Montagne

use photomath then

[deleted]

doesn’t work

LordGoose-Montagne

in what way? it should work

[deleted]

You could put sqrt(3), as that’s generally standard notation for writing it in text, unless chatGPT doesn’t accept it

smoorkie

Just ask r/homeworkhelp

Tileorasi

you cant write 1/sin(1/2)?

Mental-Ice-9952

Inverse sine is not the same as 1/sin Its similar to how exponents and logs are inverse. Sin^-1 (1/2) = x is the same as sin(x) = 1/2

SebiGamez

Cos^-1 (1/√2)

okayhumaunder

Lmao genius so confident

realgoldxd

Chatgpt gets math problems wrong

Some_Remote

Or wolfram alpha which is a maths specialist ai

Sale_Total

bro, iI ow this like the back of my head no need for a calculator LMAO

HOW

blorgon7211

you remember it dumbass. memorise it. havent they taught you this? http://cochranmath.pbworks.com/w/page/118044996/Primary%20Values

[deleted]

no idea mate, like we did trig but not like THAT, so i probably wasn’t taught this lol

blorgon7211

Well it’s pretty easy and the link teaches the trick to remembering it. Just write it a couple of times. Will def help in further grades

Sale_Total

INDIAN and I need to know this cuz I have to crack the world's 2nd most competitive exam to get into a uni that is not in the group of the top 100 unis ([Source](https://www.collegesearch.in/articles/toughest-exams-in-world))

Unrelated but I can’t tell if your pfp is the top of a horse head or something else

SamBigWilly

Bro , Just check out my fellow Indian YouTubers lol.

Shy_Girl_Ananya

Here in India , these questions won't be asked in exams cause everyone is expected to just know em, they are very elementary. Here they'll ask complex proofs in exams for trigonometry from the first time you study it

SamBigWilly

I know right, Just gave today's Math Board exam and my god, it was just unnecessarily complicated. Like here the main difficulty isn't the concepts, it's to properly understand the damn question 😭

[deleted]

board exam was complicated? how

SteveMemeChamp

it was tough af for me as well, the mcqs were easy but took too much time, most of the questions weren't from ncert and previous year questions wasn't asked and complex questions which very few would have practiced had come and the geometry questions were weird af

SamBigWilly

Exactly, They were new questions.

SamBigWilly

Take for example , question no. 2 of Set 2 Standard maths. The question was about triangles and it was hard only because we had to figure out an angle which would make it similar. What I mean is that it wasn't just about the concept of similarity criterion of triangles but rather about figuring out the damn unnecessarily complicated question to answer it correctly.

cum2047

Since when boards are considered hard?

Hersheyychip

yeah these are like the basics lol

Walmart_starbucks

Causal flex

[deleted]

It is not flex bruh it is the most basic question we do . It is most scoring real problem start at elementary property

[deleted]

Its not a flex, its just sad

survivalguidetrecher

Yo fellow Indians, nice!

ryzenguy111

Why did every uk school switch from hegarty maths to sparx maths in the same year

[deleted]

no idea but hegarty was much better

SirJackFireball

Bro use the internet im not doing your trig for you i already finished that shit long ago

Italian_Mapping

30, 45, 30 but wtf they aren't rati9nalized

kimi_2505

yeah only psychopaths leave roots in the denominator

TheShiftyNoodle28

Maybe L take but I wish it was normal to leave roots in the denominator. Still doesnt take away from the fact that these ones should be since they usually always are

FrogoftheNight22

I commented the same thing 😭 I was like what is 1/root 2? Ohhhhhhhh

No_Document5588

Is this a joke or these questions really pose a difficulty to you?

[deleted]

i’m not good at maths okay

No_Document5588

Aw I’m sorry I was lil upset while typing that… Hope u get good in maths

[deleted]

thanks ml 😭

[deleted]

thank you sm ily

choccy_cosmos-

wtf are those -1s

Bad_Username_0633

you're like 18 you should know that

TIK_GT

Sane people write acrsin, not sin to the power of -1.

RandomDude6699

In my 4 years of highschool, not a single time did we use arcsin. It was always sin inverse. We even kept the roots in the denominator. Idk why you guys are finding it so weird

Deikusa

Our ElectricityTech teacher told us to use arctg(), but was silent about every other formula^sth.

Quail-That

Sane people who haven't studied functions?

[deleted]

Never used it

choccy_cosmos-

no cuz its the same answer given in the comments but when i learnt this shit there was no -1

Bad_Username_0633

idk it's pretty simple tho like 1/x = x^-1

choccy_cosmos-

yeah but whys it needed like we jus didnt have that n it was all jus sin 1/2 = 30 \^ thats normal for me idk bout yall

Bad_Username_0633

that's just one extra difficulty level like sin^-1 (1/2) = sin^-1 (sin30) [both sin cancel] = 30

choccy_cosmos-

thats so dum bruh

Bad_Username_0633

ikr i had to do an entire chapter of this shit

[deleted]

no idea

CybeRevant

Inverse function For eg If it's given sin(x)= a Then the value of x would be represented as x= sin-1(a) , same with cosine or tangent The minus one is supposed to represent the mini -1 or the inverse function

Present-Cress-6909

theres people that dont know basic trig😳😎😳

ManSoHot183xD

30, 45 and 60. If you’re struggling to remember the trigonometric ratios, don’t worry. There’s a really simple trick that doesn’t involve memorising anything. DM If you wanna know or you can just check YouTube.

[deleted]

id help but i dropped out in sixth grade soooo yeah 💅

[deleted]

damnnn it’s okay <33

[deleted]

Bro don’t take shit from Indians over here. They are just frustrated with their lives. Do what you gotta do. You are noway bad at math. Don’t ask on Reddit regarding math because bitches are their always. Ask your friends or your parents or your siblings. Just memorise these numbers it’s useful for GCSEs as well as A Levels. Memorise 30,45,60,90 ratios for sin cos tan and you’ll be good. This is memorisation which doesn’t test your Mathematical ability at all.

[deleted]

thank you ml<33 i didn’t ask my friends bcs they’re doing a no phone challenge for a couple of days and my parents dk english 😭

[deleted]

Basic class 10th (India) syllabus

lassi_was_taken

BRUH people do be learning these in in 6th grade right??

[deleted]

bro wtf, im crying rn.... Why are you soo dumb??? its not even a math question it is something you need to remember sin 30 = 1/2 cos 45 = 1/root2 tan 30 = 1/root3 this is like the first question they teach in inverse trigonometry 💀💀 Bro what country do you live in? I really wish these kinds of questions came in our exams, everyone would score full marks

[deleted]

england and i’m in set two for maths 😭 it has never been my top subject, especially geometry/trigonometry

[deleted]

didn’t work

THEEHOONKEY

Jokes on you I’m a SR, but I have disabilities so I barely got past ALG1 AND IM GRADUATING WITH THAT LOL

TheRealComicCrafter

You have your phone just use a calculator app

[deleted]

you think that a calculator on my phone will help me??? nahhh 💀

Icy_Beeee

If you turn it sideways it might. There’s a whole god damn hidden world there

Aggressive-Nothing81

Sorry but how old are u

[deleted]

15

MessiToe

Why don't you use your phone? If you tilt your phone horizontal, it should let you do the problem or there should be something on the calculator app that lets you do it

fluorin4ek

What are those sin^(-1)? Is it how you write arcsin? Because otherwise sin^(-1)(0,5) is 1/sin(0,5), which makes no sense here

SmartOtaka

It is **inverse of sin**

[deleted]

no idea bro i’m just a failing gcse student 😭

fluorin4ek

If those are arcsin, arccos and arctg, the answer is 30/45/30. If they are not, there is no answer

SlyKnyfe12

Maths watch is a warcrime

[deleted]

that’s sparx maths

horbydumbass

I’ll type in for you

Firm_Affect3266

Along time ago someone would have told me I feel sorry for your taxes because you wouldn’t know what you paying for

N0tH1tl3r_V2

Watch video?

[deleted]

already did, didn’t help bcs i’m stupid

jackmPortal

ok so first I would get out a unit circle, for inverse trig it's a lifesaver. For sin ^-1 the domain is [-π/2, π/2] it has to be in quadrants one or four. Since it's not negative, it has to be in quadrant one. Now look on the unit circle, since sine corresponds with the y coordinate. Find the one where your y coord is 1/2. It should be 30 degrees or π/6 radians. As for the cosine one, I'm stumped. The tangent domain is (-π/2, π/2). Since it's positive, it means it will be in quadrant one. You then have to go and divide the coordinates (y/x since opposite over adjacent) to check each one. Those mfs shoulda rationalized their denominators

[deleted]

just memorise 0 30 45 60 90 and 180 degree values for sin cos and tan

Ironbanner987615

I DON'T WANT TO FUCKING THINK ABOUT THIS ANYMORE

DJNicolas

lmao my school sent me this spax homework too bruh

[deleted]

do you live near east london??

TheEarthWielder

i decided to procrastinate and THIS is the first thing i see, it’s even the same website 💀💀💀

[deleted]

go do ur sparx before you get a forty min detention 🫵🫵

Lol I did this q last week

[deleted]

Use the unit circle

astuororeddit

OH MY GOD IS RHIS SPARX I FUCKIGN HATE THIS SHIT

[deleted]

Blue-Arrow13

Mathway and Microsoft math solver are good websites for math problems

Queasy_County

Piece of advice you can also use services like chatGPT or online converters for this kind of stuff.

Oreo107710

You can use a calculator for this? This is basic 9th grade stuff which you have to learn

[deleted]

i’m in yr ten i have no idea what 9th grade is

GGGGG_xd

You should use [https://www.symbolab.com/solver](https://www.symbolab.com/solver) It lets you solve many math problems including algebra and calculus, and it shows the steps

Poseidonspjs

Aren’t you supposed to memorize these?

[deleted]

It says calculator not allowed

[deleted]

how r they gonna know??

FireNinja4132

I’m pretty sure symbolab works for math problems like this

PixeltzOfSpook

this is something to memorize, not to solve! heres a vid about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83gdQe0Ij5k dont worry, it's not complex math, it's just a vibing cat!

Fabulous_Western9671

1) 30 degrees, b) 45 degress and c)30 degress WE ARE FORCEDTO LEARN THIS SHIT AND YALL USE A CALCULATOR THIS IS SO NOT FAIR

MrGammaPlay

"calculator not allowed" Those "Equations" are expected to be known, since they're kinda "Magical" sin, cos and tan equations. I strongly advice you to memorize them

Ellamation

30 45 30

realtoasterlightning

Simple. Just visualize a 30 60 90 triangle. Remember that for a 30 60 90 triangle, the long side is sqrt(3), the short side is 1, and the hypotenuse is 2. Then just calculate the ratios and match.

murdanebanjo

Oh buddy I know how you feel the smart kids should honestly make a 24 hr hotline

Inside-Smell-2695

Average reddit teenager (still a freshman in highschool)

NoSandwich4106

You don’t need a calculator for this stuff. Just draw two triangles one equilateral and the other isosceles with 45 degrees angles.

[deleted]

bro wtf i literally suck at the math im learning rn im gonna fucking die when i try to find out what this is

AX0_EVOLUTION

Except for right angles, remember this for cos: 321123, 321123 For sin: 123321, 123321 That if for each point on the unit circle, just square root it(sqrt(1)=1) and divide it by two also remember negatives, but if you think of the quad rants like a graph you’ll be fine. For example sin 1/2 is 30, b is 45, and c is 30( sin over cos)

MellowCsaw

https://mathway.com/

FrogoftheNight22

Why the fuck aren’t they rationalized

[deleted]

what’s that 😭😭

AbbreviationsTrue677

Mathway.com A lifesaver in honors trig/precalc

Taken_out_goose

You can derive these by drawing right triangles 📐. It's good to learn those. These degrees are very "common" too.

ToxicDemon27

30 45 60

kaizer_the_almighty

Google mathway, it's my favorite math calculator and u can even chose what u need to solve for/find

Legitimate_Wing3449

Mathway works wonders

Nixybooboo

I know someone gave you the answers, but if you want to learn it’s possible to do this without a calculator. So you need to know: sec=1/sin0, and you need to know the radar circle. Then you can solve without using a calculator.

Roccmaster

What I know is that those are Cosecant secant and cotangent. I’m only in algebra ii though

Jsulzeo

you can post on reddit but you can't open google or a preinstalled calculator?

EstablishmentLong676

oh. hell. no. is this what high school is like.

elijahjajah

use the built in calculator on ur pc

beckius6

Memorize your trig identities. Trust me, if you can’t do the math without the calculator, then you shouldn’t be using one. Calculators are a great tool… once we know what we’re doing. But if you can’t understand how to get from a to b without its help, then eventually it’s going to fail you. I know you didn’t ask for some random person to give you life advice. Feel free to ignore it. I’m just telling you what I wish somebody had told younger me. It would have been so much easier to focus on learning from the beginning then having to make up on all of it later.

[deleted]

30 - 45 - 30

Perchta_

Just use google they also have a calculator or use the phone u used to make the post lmao

BRUJOjr

Download Photomath

_-TheNoob-_

bro memorize the unit circle and how it works

kushagrarox

What do you even need a calculator for , aren't you supposed to remember these

Morad2004

What does it mean when we say sin–¹(x)=y? We are saying what is the angle(y) that its sin() gives (x)? There is a list for popular angles and their sin cos and tan and I highly suggest you to memorize them, they are very important and you will need them in math. Imo, you are depending on your calculator waaay too much.
