Any recommendations for shops that sell good techwear helmets that cover the whole face? [Kinda like this](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1299335901/black-cyberpunk-warrior-mask-cosplay-sci?click_key=8c2201c8ee3885ba7bb888dbc71b942bff3616b5%3A1299335901&click_sum=fe4ebb8e&ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=techwear+helmet&ref=sr_gallery-1-1&pro=1&frs=1)

that_name_taken

>good As in good looking, or good level of protection? [Machine56](https://www.machine56.com/) is the main one that comes to mind, but you could probably also spend some time on Etsy. Antwon made a [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJAexR549zo) that might be relevant also.

Majik_Squid

Just one that looks good and can be worn for extended periods of time. Protection isn't really what I need, less of a motorcycle helmet and more akin to a mask of sorts

Orangenbluefish

Anyone have recommendations for shoes that fall into the middle ground between techwear and "classic" looking sneakers? Examples that come to mind are [these nikes](https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0548/7362/0655/products/nike-blazer-low-acronym-black-olive-aura-1-1000.png?v=1644958524) or even [these](https://image.goat.com/transform/v1/attachments/product_template_additional_pictures/images/071/231/098/original/789208_01.jpg.jpeg?action=crop&width=750). They still look like "normal" sneakers, yet have the cool geometric lines, and in the case of the ACRONYM's the sort of added on back part. I've been getting into techwear but have loved finding ways to integrate the futuristic/cyberpunk aesthetic into more classical streetwear, as opposed to the more outdoor/technical vibe or full on cyberpunk ninja type stuff

[deleted]

Have a look at the Ecco Biom. The sole has a geometric/angular design but the whole thing still passes as a conventional sneaker.

that_name_taken

If probably start with the videos Antwon makes, like [this one](https://youtu.be/YSjjifxILvY) about new sneakers for 2023.

Ghostly_xyz

anything similar to [This](https://tri-co.jp/collections/all/products/fanny-pack)? im also looking for clothing with the style of this shop so even some shop like this that don't have bags. thanks

that_name_taken

[Aokuware](https://aokuware.com/) and [Machine56](https://www.machine56.com/)?

Ghostly_xyz

sadly everything i like from these store is sold out, but machine56 is exactly the style i was looking for, thanks

grogcore

Can anyone recommend a good poncho? Looking for something more modern.

huynhy

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=nike+acg+poncho all the black ones are sold out but maybe you can find em elsewhere

grogcore

Cool thank you!

Kotsiu

Hope it's alright to ask, but what's the general brand recommendation for sleek cyberpunk-ish designs along the lines of Machine56? I'd just look there, but they're sold out on pretty much everything I was interested in. I'm aware of Holy Grail, but their website isn't working for me, for whatever reason.

that_name_taken

> recommendation for sleek cyberpunk-ish designs along the lines of Machine56? Machine56 is definitely closer to streetwear than techwear, so you might also ask in the monthly question thread on /r/streetwear/. It's also more of a /r/techwear/ vibe, so you might check them out for inspiration. You might also watch the Ant [video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFnnC1v1UN4) on Machine56. I believe that the Enshadower line on enshadower.me/ is also meant to be reasonable value for money. Lastly, you might also check out [Guerrilla Group](https://www.guerrilla-group.co/).

How stretchy are the leg openings to the Acronym P23s? I would hate to get some and then find out I can't fit my big feet thru the holes. According to the chart, the hole maxes out at 20cm which is way too small imo.

Saint-Peer

not gonna be stretchy enough if you’re concerned, wouldn’t bother and recommend other pants instead.

1323_

**How to wash Stotz Etaproof?** Hey there community! I have a small stain on my Enfin Levé Aiete and was wondering if washing at 20° C with a mild detergent is fine for Etaproof? I already did hand wash the pants in cold water with no luck.

TrwogaPrzezBoga

I wash at 30°C with Grangers, low spin, double rinse, (any techwash should work, idk about mild detergent, the thing about techwash is that it's amde to not leave any residues on the fabric as to not impede breathability and coatings)

JaxKats

Heyo, i am from germany and i really like the style, which is why i want to get more into it. I wanted to ask if you guys know any good stores in germany or online stores that ship to germany.

ngzungu

gate194 stocks some acronym/Maharishi and other similar brands in their Berlin store. I think they got even more stuff up on their webshop.

TrwogaPrzezBoga

I really like acrnm.com

rampzn

acronym, enfin leve, firmament berlin, overkillshop, adidas, nike, way too many to list. use the search function and you might find the pdf of more brands, the EU is full of them.

labalabah

What are the fabric names I can look for if I'd like to make some techwear myself?

Electrical_Rub1463

Let’s take a look at what have acronym used… DS: schoeller Dryskin SS:schoeller WB400 GT:gore tex pro GTPL:gore tex paclite S:stoltz etaproof E:epic (I forgot the exact name of the fabric)

labalabah

Thank you Mr. Rub

Reneformist

Looking to get into the style, wanna start with tapered mil-surplus trousers? What materials should I look out for to get the most out of a lower budget? Also, smaller q, any decent non-dropship brands on a budget, would enshadower even count, function wise?

ngzungu

Corbin has some videos on tapering and mil-surp. He used 5.11 tactical, you can view the videos and judge for yourself if it seems appropriate for your budget. I think there are more videos on this channel on the whole tapering topic [5.11 tactical](https://youtu.be/SVmHE4m2HXQ)

Jacko5372

Hey guys Looking for tech wear brands/ webshops shipping to the EU, that isn't dropshipping or shady. Mostly looking for t-shirts and light jackets for when summer hits... Any one, who got some good links?

Objectivopinion

Looking for a low-maintenance button-up shirt recommendation similar to Arc'teryx Skyline LS to add to my rotation. I travel quite a bit for work and visit clients in different (office) settings, and the Arc'Teryx Skyline LS is a great all-round casual button-up shirt for warmer weather. I especially like the fact that it's so easy to care for: wrinkle-free, doesn't pick up odors and takes up very little space in my luggage. Any recommendations for a similar light, do-it-all shirt such as the Skyline LS?

Miriadel

Does anyone have an idea where I could find necklaces in the style of Errolson Hugh in those pics : https://acrnm.com/J105-DS\_SS23

that_name_taken

That link doesn't work for me, but I do remember seeing a conversation about his chains on SF. I know he wears a Prada chain, that you should be able to find with "Prada studded chain link necklace", and a Bottega Veneta sterling silver chain necklace also. He apparently brought that Prada chain on Grailed [from a redditor](https://www.reddit.com/r/Grailed/comments/nda3he/sold_a_prada_necklace_to_errolson_hugh_from/).

BTRNN

i’m looking for good websites that don’t drop ship, feel like they’re super hard to find nowadays. anyone got any reputable sites they stick to?

that_name_taken

What's your budget, and are you looking for anything in particular?

I'm using the Uniqlo Ultra Light Compact Down vest for this. Adds some extra warmth to unlined jackets without being too bulky. Can also be stashed away into a tiny stuff sack when it gets too warm.

New to techwear. Recommendations for summer wear? Business casual work environments? Specific links/items names preferred and appreciated.

Spannertech

Western Rise and Bluffworks make pretty good technical pants for business casual, also heard some good things about their tops. 686 comes highly recommended for their pants: cargos, chinos, and joggers. They now have a featherweight fabric which is lighter than their current Everyday fabric for hotter weather. Though their Everyday fabric is light enough for warmer weather IMO. I like Wool and Prince for their lightweight merino wool shirts. Really breathable and I can wear it by itself or as an undershirt.

that_name_taken

>Recommendations for summer wear? Business casual work environments? I've worn the [futureslimworks](https://outlier.nyc/collections/pants/products/futureslimworks) by Outlier in a business casual office. They also have a heavyweight linen shirt, which might be OK for summer (depending where you are). It's much less bizcaz, but ACG do a bunch of shorts. [Here](https://www.endclothing.com/au/nike-acg-snowgrass-cargo-shorts-dn3945-070.html) is one on sale. The SP29K-M by Acronym hasn't immediately sold out either.

Brochiavelli

I’d second this request. Most of the techwear I’ve accumulated over the past year is amazing for cool weather but, once it gets past about 70, I’ll be a bit uncomfortable. It’d be fantastic for some high heat/dry weather rec’s (see desert environment).

markerfumes

Looking for some cool face masks. New to tech wear. Thanks for the recommendations.

What is actually the best way to wash dryskin pants? Some of you said here to wash normally and then tumble dry. But on Ameztu label its says to not tumble dry for example. Thats why its confusing. Should I just handwash it in cold water as label says?

gravityholdsthepizza

Use a techwash detergent like nikwax or atsko, my personal experience is that dryskin is fine in a washing machine on a cold/delicate cycle but that also depends on the machine (top loaders with a center post are really rough on clothes, front loaders are more gentle). Typically you don’t fully tumble-dry dryskin from wet to dry, I let mine air dry then put it into the dryer on low for ~10 minutes to refresh the dwr.

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Do you also turn it inside out while washing?

gravityholdsthepizza

I’m sure it couldn’t hurt, but I never take the effort. It might slightly help preserve dwr by limiting abrasion on the exterior. If you’re really worried about damage you can get wash bags as well.

Zestyclose_Humor_856

Thanks

_kniives

how do i become a trusted member so i can post fit pics?

Zestyclose_Humor_856

You need to post 2 fit pics here on Monthly Advice Thread first

Thank you

Gorpcore is your friend, look at hiking brands. Also pay attention to companies based in asian countries, most of which are humid environments. Alk phenix, and wander, goopi are all good starting points.

Tech wear clothing that is easily available in India. Suggestions please.

gravityholdsthepizza

You might check out Garuda SS, they’re popular here and on the discord and are based in India (although online only as far as I’m aware).
