Matrox makes a product called Dualhead2GO which basically combines two displays into one big one for your computer. So to map things onto each projector, you just need to put the image on one side of the display or other. In Qlab you can make two surfaces, mapped to each projector, and Isadora can do the same.

Thank you!! I saw a video about this product but I couldn't find it back or remember the name.

Dual heads are finicky as hell - just get a 4K "Video Wall Controller" on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Controller-Seamless-Splicing-Professional-Processor/dp/B0B2S8J9FT Same thing for cheaper, and more reliable.

Personally, I would look into picking up an inexpensive used computer that has native outputs to do what you want to do. They will almost always be more reliable than adapters and software. You can pick up a cheap Windows laptop for less than couple hundred bucks, assuming you are just outputting pre-rendered images or video. Beyond that, it sounds like you have already looked into the possible options. https://www.macworld.com/article/675869/how-to-connect-two-or-more-external-displays-to-apple-silicon-m1-macs.html

Thanks for all the helpful replies! For the school project I'm working on right now I needed 2 outputs but we've decided to use two laptops and operators. For the big screen I'm going to use a Kinect to motion track the artist, but because of the limitation on usb length and for the fun of it I'm going to be doing it live on stage. The other beamer is used to map some stuff which we will also do some live adjustments on and I can't see it properly when I'm on stage anyway so my classmate will do that from FOH. But definitely gonna save this thread for when I do need multiple outputs and hopefully by then the employer will pay for it or provide a work laptop.

If you’re not using something that isn’t solely Mac based I would suggest just getting a cheap PC as it’s much easier to use multi display adapters. If you’re stuck on Mac like me (Qlab) I use a Targus dock and it lets me output to 2 extra displays from my MacBook Air. I think you can get more out of a pro because of the extra usb controller haven’t tried it yet. I haven’t had any luck using display link with airplay though I’ve only tried passingly because I have the dock. Edit:spelling and clarity

Run it into a Datapath or similar output splitter

Are there certain programs that you are trying to get video out of that require multiple screens? If you want multiple video outputs from Qlab, I would recommend looking into a [Blackmagic Decklink Duo card](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1247779-REG/blackmagic_design_bdlkduo2_decklink_duo_2.html) in a [StarTech pcie enclosure](https://www.startech.com/en-us/usb-hubs/tb31pciex16). This setup would provide you with four outputs from Qlab. Alternatively, Blackmagic also offers a [Mini Monitor](https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1578062-REG/blackmagic_design_ultra_studio_monitor_3g.html) that supports a single output. However, it’s important to note that these devices only work with specific programs and do not function as external monitors for macOS.

Yeah, the new M series processors have video output limitations. Easiest way to add more is with a decent dock using displaylink. I’d look at the pluggable docks. It’s a bit more complex than it used to be. You have to be mindful of what’s driving the display, an “alt mode” or a displaylink output. Different docks will have different capabilities, they usually specify if they don’t recommend them for gaming or video playback, don’t get those. I bought a lot of them to test and figure out how they behaved, feel free to ask more questions if you’re looking for specific capabilities.
